I did quite a bit of research trying to decide with gimbal to purchase. I'm shooting with a Nikon Z6, with the adapter and an older 24mm-70mm lens that is heavy and not all of the lighter weight gimbals will handle the load of this body and lens combination. I have never used a gimbal before and after about of week of trail and error, I have to say I'm getting a good understanding of how to make this gimbal work for me. A couple of things, the paper manual that comes along with it need a lot of improvement. They are not real useful past some basic information in my opinion. The video tutorials that Moza has for this gimbal are probably a better starting point IMO.It took me quite a while to figure out how to balance my camera and lens. I can now get any lens combination balanced in just a few minutes or less now. I started out using a smaller and lighter 50mm lens to learn on. Everytime I set my rig up I would autotune and check the balance on the gimbal. I was getting good results when the gimbal was fully locked, but was having troubles panning and following. Even after trying many different combinations of power or level settings on pan, tilt and row. I finally put on my heavy 20mm to 70mm and was getting great results. After switching back to my lighter lens, I adjusted the pan motor strength after autotuning and that's helped tremendously. So, what I've learned is the autotuning settings are not always spot on.I've got mine set up where I can control the aperature, iso and shutter speed from the control wheel. That works quite slick. I'm still deciding if it's easier to start and stop recording from the camera or from the gimbal.Third, it will take a lot of practice to start getting some real good useable footage, so don't get discouraged if you're new to gimbals. I had a few days where I thought I might just end up returning this, and after taking the time to do some discovery and figure out how it works I think this will end up being a really good gimbal.

I tried with G9 SmallRig cage without using L-bracket that came with the gimbal. Balanced perfectly, but shaky issue at 45 degree, againI updated the firmware and the shakiness went away. So it's goodG9 is not listed on the compatible camera list, but figured it may work like GH5. And yes, all function (aperture control, ISO control, shutter release, etc.,) works fine via USB connectionThere is 3/8 female screw on the gimbal opposite side of the screen. I believe Moza sells accessories to utilize this. I can even customize a handle to use it as Weebill gimbalPhone apps works very well. Subject following and motion remote controlling works very wellWhile L-bracket gives option to rotate camera in portrait mode, it does not work with PeakDesign capture clips. Not friendly at allI have not used the follow focus for I didn't want to bother screwing/unscrewing Manfrotto style to my G9, so I cannot tell anything about follow focus motor.RGB LED ring on controller looks cool, too!

I’ve been using the gimbal with a Sony A7sii and a Rokinon 14mm (which is a relatively long and front heavy lens) with good resuls... the lightweight design makes it easy to handle and maneuver for shoots while walking (and running), and there is definitely a wow factor for people passing by .... it seems everybody wants to be in the Shot!I have a 7” monitor and the included cell phone cradle mounted to a small bar at the base of the gimbal, and it’s still easy to handle with one hand while shooting and moving around. I have a Zhiyun quick release attached under the rail for easy removal of the included mini tripod and attachment to another quick release that can be mounted to a full tripod or extension pole. Most other functions are easily controlled from the gimbal itself, and the UI is fairly easy to memorize and get to settings during shooting....Ifocus M seems to lose connection somewhat often, especially when using the camera remote cable to the A7s2, but setting the A&B focus points helped keep the motor from disengaging, but it must be done every time the gimbal is turned on? No save available for that function.It would be nice to have more reliable connection and additional features direct to Sony A7 series camera (like internal focus control, ISO, etc - functionality that is available for Canon users), but I think that’s more of a Sony issue than Moza.All in all it’s great, and half the price of other gimbals with similar or less features.... I feel like I made the right choice purchasing this particular model just after it’s release in October of 2019.

The Moza AirCross 2 has been a great gimbal so far. I used to use the Ronin S, which I loved but it was getting really heavy, especially during longer shoots. There were also a few features that I felt were missing which led me to the AirCross 2. I love the fact that you can lock the motors. This makes balancing so much easier and faster and makes transport a breeze. I no longer have to worry that it's going to just bang around if I don't have time to break it down and put in the case, which I rarely do because it's annoying and time consuming. It's around 2 pounds lighter, which may not seem like a lot but I already notice a huge difference. Some of the controls take a little getting used to but the main functions that I use are now a button push away. If you don't ... MoreThe Moza AirCross 2 has been a great gimbal so far. I've been waiting for a Gimbal that is compatible with Fuji XT-3 for a while, so when Gudsen announced that there latest firmware for the AirCross2 (with Fuji's latest firmware) will fully support the XT-3, I jumped in. Big disappointment:1) The XT-3 support is part of firmware 1.04 which was released (per Gudsen's official release notes) on Jan 15, 2020. It is nowhere to be found. My gimbal came with v0.35. The upgrade got me 1.03. Tried again twice. No luck (as a side note, a well-written patching software should at least warn you to you're patching the same version)2) And even if the firmware were available, to connect the Fuji to the gimbal, a new cable (M3C-CP) is needed. Spent hours trying to get the updates working since the instructions/documentation are a joke, and after getting v1.03 to install, I was left with high doubts in the quality of the product.As it stands, the firmware installation didn't complete 100% successfully:a. After uploading the firmware, Iget a message that recalibration is needed thru the Master App. That calibration has 2 parts: gyro calibration that worked but the 2nd one (accelerometer) fails repeatedly with a timeout error (I tried both the Windows App and the Android App)b. Not sure if it relates to a. above, but when I turn on the gimbal, it goes into 'sleep mode' by default and I have to select the menu option explicitly to get started!The hardware per se seems fine and I think that the gimbal at $400 is a good value, but the software needs a lot of work.I've just scratched the surface here, but at that rate, I felt that those 10+ modes and options will be as glitchy.I hate to draw a blanket conclusion: there is a chance that other camera models will work better, that the patching process is using different code (I doubt it), so YMMV if using something other than the XT-3.

Balancing it was straight forward, but reading the microscopic instruction manual on how to control various functions was NOT easy. It is written with the assumption that you already know how to use it, so I would describe it at best as a bit sparse. What was particularly frustrating was that even though it is advertised that it will work with the Z6 or Z7 and there is an ample supply of cables provided, you actually need to purchase a separate USB-C to Micro-USB adapter to connect the trigger to the Z6 so that you can trip the shutter or start a video recording (I think this is true ... I'll try again next weekend when I have time, or when I get that connector.So it might be a great product ... certainly, many of the reviews out there are quite positive. I grant that I am a neophyte to gimbals, though I have used a GoPro Karma Grip very successfully. But my first couple of hours of struggle were not promising.
While it worked, it was great. Sadly, after a short period of not using the gimbal, the battery stopped charging beyond 50%. It didn't matter if it was left on the charger over night, for a few days, etc. I contacted Moza support and they told me basically, "sorry, hope it's inside one year warranty" and "batteries are no longer sold" - so I'm left with a $400 paperweight, e-waste and unused scrap metal. Really disappointed in Moza that they don't stand behind their product in ANY way - whether service or at least offering replacement parts for sale. Who doesn't sell a battery for one of their recent products?

The users started to show this problem with their equipament in the same period that I faced. Seens like that the battery can not be without use for some time, as happened with a lot of professionals during the pandemic. The consequence is its death. And zero support from Gudsen.I do not recommended it.

If there were more adjustment room on the tilt arm, and more height on the rotational arm, it would not have been an issue. They list the GH5, but I'd suggest the only way to get that to work properly is with one of the pancake lenses available from Panasonic. The 7-14mm zoom was simply too much weight, and it couldn't keep it leveled. Sent back. I'm skinny and small so I after using air 2 for 5 mins, I get tired, this one however is easier for me to run around.Balancing can be an issue and it takes time to get it right, I have posted two videos on how to balance a gh5 or a bmpcc4k cameras, they can be found on youtube via mdifilm... They have been very helpful for everyone, even if you have balanced gimbals before, AirCross 2 balancing is a bit different as the roll axis now have 2 areas to adjust correctly.If balancing is done correctly, you can then turn it on and it should work great.If you are using the LED Balance Check to check if your camera is balanced, make sure to manually check the Pan Axis (it will tell you so as well on the screen), it is because the internal Balance Check do not accurate know about the Pan Axis.If this is the first time you are using the gimbal, first thing, to check for latest firmware, DO NOT use phone app to update (many reasons: your phone may have other stuff going on that can interrupt the update, etc. And sometimes blutooth signal can get interference... Best is to use a computer to do the firmware update, make sure to download the latest software via Gudsen's website and run it. I've heard of Mac users having issue with the software, so make sure you tell the computer to allow external software to be installed.Once firmware is updated, you can then balance the camera on the gimbal and first thing to do is to Calibrate, by having the camera on the gimbal and leveled, and go into the led menu and do the calibration for both acc/gyro.Auto-tune does is having the gimbal to find the good 'counter' motor information to help balance the camera, but it doesn't help with levels so calibration is needed.If auto-tune do not work well, then go into the menu setting and adjust camera weight to light or ultra-light and also adjust the filter number, the higher it is the stronger the motors get, usually for lighter camera setup, you would make the filter number between 20-25.With practice you will get good balance, at first it took me 45 mins but now I can balance gh5 and bmpcc4k within 5 mins.For those using full/half cages with the bmpcc4k and ssd drive, you will need counter weights at bottom of the l-bracket (the l space area can be used to attach weights)For those using other type of quick release plates, you attach that between the camera and the L-Bracket not below it.
