Liar's Dice is a dice game where each player is given five dice and cup to roll and hide them with. Players make successively higher declarations regarding the results of all the dice remaining in the game, e.g. "there are ten sixes". However, someone can always contest the bid. When that happens, all the dice are revealed and either the bidder or the caller loses dice, depending on who was correct. The last player with dice is the winner. As a public domain dice game there are a number of variants or similar games called Liar's Dice. This includes one that is often played with Poker Dice, and differs from the marketed versions in that players only declare on their own hand's value (as opposed to all dice being in play), using poker-hand values.

Agree with other reviewers that the quality isn't the best, but that goes for most things built after the 1950s. The game is still so much fun and I have yet to have anyone say it looks cheaply made. The price is worth the fun memories.

Bought this game because I've played it many of times at my friends. Our family loved the game so I asked for it for my birthday. It is definitely a hit at our house and with our friends and family

Used this as a gift for a newly wed after seeing how much fun they had playing. Box and items are plastic not wood but still playable and durable.

I purchased this game because I'd played it with friends before. It's a great game to have and i like the set with the cups and dice. THe major downer was just after opening the box the artwork on the cups is peeling off. I hadn't even used the set, and it's already falling apart. Oh well it's just cosmetic and still fun. The wooden dice block that houses everything seems sturdy and built to last. Just not the artwork around the cups.Fun game, I'd still recommend it
I have played Liars Dice on Red Dead Redemption, on mobile apps and just with standard dice and plastic cups. I decided to buy this version because, with the playmat, it's much easier for newcomers to grasp the concept of bidding. The 'Wild Star' element adds an extra twist to the game and is an interesting variation on the game. It's a very simple but highly addictive game... anyone who likes poker should give this a go, as bluffing or 'lying' is a major factor. It's a lot of fun, takes no time to set up and get playing! I highly recommend!
The box is nice enough, but the entire set has the quality level of a novelty gift for close to the price of a professional set. I would say its worth giving to a child because of the box, but it just holds the plastic cups with the peeling stickered design. If your wanting something for adult friends, then by all means spend one dollar more for a decent regular sized dice set with nice cups.
The main thing that threw me off were the cups, Looking at the picture I thought the 4 cups same size. They're actually 2 different sizes that make them more stackable for storage, but aesthetically loses a little bit of value in my opinion. Also the picture looks as though the black details on the cups are carved in, when on the product it's more akin to a sticker decal. All in all not a bad product though.
This game is so much fun! We laugh so hard every time we play it because the object of the game is basically to lie to everyone playing. Who can keep the straightest face? A great gift for anyone - adults and kids!
We love this game. I have a big family and this is one of our go-to games. We bought extra dice and have played with 10 or more at a time by just adding to the numbers if we go around more than once; so the one becomes 21, etc...
Weve played this game for years at someone elses house. I finally bought my own sets. The box that contains the cups & dice is a nice touch, HOWEVER, the cups and dice are disappointing & misrepresented in the picture. The dice are tiny. The cups are 2 different sizes. Other than to make them fit in the dice box, I dont understand why. Id rather have all full sized cups...but even the larger size is tiny. We play this as adult couples. It looks like a child version. The game is certainly playable in spite of this, however I am very disappointed. I will probably return them & find a game with full sized, sturdy, felt lined cups.
