All these products are unsuitable for purpose. Native bees need 10 cm deep tubes to lay male eggs. This was the only model 10 cm deep. While female eggs need 15 to 20 cm deep tubes. But the holes started at 1mm deep. The rest were drilled far too shallow, or obstructed. So I drilled holes--finding that the bamboo straws fell out, not being fixed. This will require complete rework (drilling, blocking and glueing.

This is not suitable for Australian native bees. The cavities are not deep enough, and the hole diameters are too wide. Several studies from the last few years have shown that bee hotels like this can cause skewed sex-ratios, which could lead to population decline. You will save money (and the environment) by making your own bee hotel using hole diameters of 3-10mm, and depths of 100-150mm.
