I was a little surprised when I realised that these little slices of almond cake hadn't actually been filled with a layer of, well, almond - just, anything almond-related - but, instead, a plum and raspberry jam, but, you know, while it wasn't expected, it actually tastes nice. They're now sold in packs of 2 cakes; this is more convenient, for some, than all of them being packed into just 1 big tray. In effect, opening a tray of 6 cakes just for 1 meant that 5 others would no longer be sealed and be a temptation - most especially because the texture would be at risk. The new format makes these more portable as well as makes the aforementioned issue not quite so bad. These Kipling's almond slices are a delightful treat. The great combination of soft cake inside and crunchy almonds is lovely. The sweetness is also on point making them enjoyable without being overly sugary. Overall, these slices have a delicious almond flavor and comes in a good proportion.

Not surprised they have to reduce them. Tasted of artificial ingredients, poor quality jam and not enough of it. Amazed by the positive reviews. I put the remainder out for the birds.

We've not had Mr Kipling for years but tried these as on offer. They are absolutely delicious. Not too sweet, fresh and light. Now buying regularly and at full price is still a bargain in comparison to a good cake shop.
Delicious, sweet slices - light and soft sponge with nice almond topping - my favourite from Mr Kipling range. Perfect little treat, great as a dessert or anytime of day. Excellent quality, would strongly recommend
As soon as we opened the package, the aroma was absolutely delightful, and then came the ideal moistness and density of the product. My wife and I absolutely adore these. Since I'm not much of a baker, this is a wonderful alternative – really delicious and fresh. I'm definitely planning to purchase more, perhaps even some gift boxes for this Christmas.
