This is an overall great card, Im OC the daylights out of it and it barely touchs 71c. Plays all of my older favorites no problem even on ultra quality. BUT dont expect to play rdr2, cyberpunk or any other high texture open world game outside of Skyrim and fallout 4. Larger tv and monitor upscaling gives terrible FPS even on low quality, use a smaller high quality monitor for best results. Im a huge fan of MSI and appreciate the quality of the card but I feel the time and money put into that insane 6000mhz mem frequency could of been put to better use adding 2GB memory and adding some more cuda cores for modern gaming. Overall 4 out of 5 but since you cant find any others lets just call it the only 4 your going to get right now.

I received the package and inside was a gift card with quite a high dollar value so I personally consider that a discount as well because that's money that I didn't have. The delivery box was secure, full of packaging materials, and came in the signature box and everything. Brand spanking new, fresh smell, clean look, and easy install. Updated a few drivers and bam! I was running games like fortnite at max settings 1080p 120+ fps stable. No lag, latency, or tearing. CSGO max settings 300+ fps, Rust max settings 100+ fps, Vanilla Minecraft max settings max render 400+ fps, and so much more! It is definitely thicker than I thought it would be but so are my frames. I stream to YouTube @1080p60 with absolutely no problems. It has a very, very minor impact on frame rate and even less impact on ping and internet connection. Honestly, to sum this product up from a lifetime gamer's pov, I've never been happier with my gaming experience. This unit has changed the way I play and the way I perceive gaming altogether. If you are doubting yourself about buying this product, don't. You will definitely miss out. Do yourself a favor and buy it. You will not regret it.

Better price and performance than a 1070 ti. Also, more reasonably priced than the 1070ti. Gamers regard this as a terrible value while the forked over $400 plus taxes and shipping for a 1070ti. Buy this card and quit being obsessed with chasing numbers, future proofing is a fools game but this card will play everything - relieving feeling like a hot knife through butter. 6GB is enough, trust me!

Directly... "out-of-box"... and into my desktop, as well as my wife's desktop we have had no problems. We both play World of Warcraft, about 8years now. It gives us something to do, to keep our minds off of our disabilities. Anyway, I had to get these video cards because the game developers have "tweaked" the video programing for the "upcoming" next expansion, so when they do that, if you have an almost "low end" video card, it could start crashing.I researched to find a reasonable video card, that was more than what the game requires, as well as a reasonable price, and so this video card, satisfies both.
Needed to replace faulty NVidea Graphics card. Researched quite a few in the 200 -300 price range. This one was very comparable when looking at various cards on sale. Currently there are very high prices for graphics cards due to COVID supply issues however this one was a reasonable price. Comes with good software and the over locking software is excellent as it automatically assessed your rig and produces the best solution. Noticeable difference from my previous card . Highly recommend
This GPU does everything it needs to. It’s great for gaming as it can run most modern games at a solid 60 fps without having to turn down any settings. It can struggle however, when turning up settings for many modern titles. I don’t find this an issue though as I don’t tend to play the most recent games. Overall, this card is great and will certainly last you a long while if you are building your first gaming rig.
Runs a bit hot with the stock cooler. Reaches 85C under full load with an open case (room temp. being 26C). This particular model is compatible with Kraken G12 w/o any special modding, tho NZXT site states that there's no comparability with RTX 2060, this model is somewhat different from nvidia's reference board and the mosfets are exactly where they need to be for the fan to blow directly onto them. However, when the stock cooler is removed them VRAM chips will start overheating so there's a need to buy separate set of VRAM radiators (preferably cooper ones). With G12 and Corsair's H55 liquid cooling I was able to lower the temps significantly - from 85C to 67C under full load (with GPU being overclocked even farther beyond factory OC). I've run extensive testings ... MoreRuns a bit hot with the stock cooler. Reaches 85C under full load with an open case (room temp. being 26C). I would definitely recommend this card to anyone who is familiar with Overclocking utilities as you will need to customize your fan curve to prevent this card from being too loud and annoying. I upgraded to this card from a MSI Gefore GTX 1060 Gaming X which has the TORX Fan 2.0. These two cards have this in common. I assumed that by going with this VENTUS card that the thermals would be similar. I was right about the thermals but what surprised me was the noise. The Gaming X card is not nearly as loud as the Ventus at fan speed percentages above 60%. The gaming x card could run well above 60% and not be very audible whereas the Ventus card is very audible to the point of annoyance. I now have this card set to only hit 50% fan speed in my custom curve setting in MSI ... MoreI would definitely recommend this card to anyone who is familiar with Overclocking utilities as you will need to customize your fan curve to prevent this card from being too loud and annoying. I now have this card set to only hit 50% fan speed in my custom curve setting in MSI Afterburner which means it's very very quiet but my temperatures are a bit higher than the gaming x's temps were. Which is fine as I am only hitting around 67 degrees C at max load. This is how I would recommend using this card and for the price, it's worth the extra effort.
I said I would update my original review once I had some more time using the card, but it turns out you can't update a review... only choice is to delete it and rewrite it. Further, one "reviewer" decided to take it upon him/her self to review my (and one other's) review rather than the product, and I decided to answer a few of this person's points. 1) Why would I buy a card only as fast as a 1070 when I already have a 1070? Ignoring the fact that Nvidia (and really several pre release videos from others) stated it would be much faster than a 1070, I wanted a second GPU in my system for Blender cycles rendering. 2) Why complain about the missing CD when no one uses them anymore? Ignoring the fact that Nvidia (and really several pre release videos from others) stated it would be much faster than a 1070, I wanted a second GPU in my system for Blender cycles rendering. 2) Why complain about the missing CD when no one uses them anymore? As I stated in the previous review, I know how to get drivers from online sites, so it's not an issue. What IS an issue is that MSI states that there is a CD in the box, and further, the instructions direct you to use it. Not everyone is as knowledgeable as some of us, and so they might think this CD is important. As I said in the original... very sloppy on MSI's part. They did include the CD's envelope in my box... so it was supposed to be there. Further, I'm shocked that there were no cables included. Again, as a computer building geek since the early 1990s, I always have cables laying about... but not everyone out there does. 3) Did I do research before buying this card? Absolutely... about the only thing I missed was Newegg's return policy (Note: you can't return this product if you aren't satisfied with it. Keep this in mind before purchasing.). I think this was the brunt of "Anonymous'" complaints. Truly though, I'm shocked that he/she took the time to go on a rampage about a product that he/she might not even own (no "Verified Owner"). It was almost as if this person designed this card and was having fits over my comments! LOL- some people have too much time on their hands. Note- a three egg review isn't a detractor rating. It simply indicates I'm 50-50 on this card as a recommendation. And it's my opinion (a review is always an opinion). This card could easily have gotten a four star rating from me were it not for MSI's sloppy (and I think, rushed) distro. Here's some positives: This card is excellent in Cycles rendering. It hands down beats my old Gigabyte 1070 G1... they rip thru frame renderings together! As for games, it is slightly faster than my 1070. Overclocking is made easy with Afterburner. I got about 10% more speed out of the card in OC. With that in mind, I would definitely recommend this card as a better version of the GTX 1070 with possible future proofing based on the RTX ray tracing capabilities. If you currently have a 1060, it's a natural upgrade. If you want 1070Ti performance in games, I'd say that this card probably won't fulfill that goal unless you have a high performance i7 system. One last note: this GPU can be made to work in Linux Mint. It's not immediately easy as the drivers approved for Mint aren't there yet, but if you know how to download and install the drivers directly from Nvidia's Linux library, they work!!!
Bought this card to support additional monitors. Currently feeding a Samsung g9 (5120x1440 @120Hz) and Acer (3440x1440@60Hz)Requires no additional PCI power cables, powered entirely from the MB rail. With lower power, fans can spin low and never ramp up. Super quiet.
