Pretty average results which is fine for the price point. Performance as expected is fantastic. It is a beast at 4k. I also own a 7900 XTX, which is a great card as well at almost 50% less money and sometimes nearly as fast, but if you love Ray Tracing at 4k, the 4090 is the way to go. So in summary, MSI Gaming X is a great 4090 that is close to MSRP prices.

The tone of the fans bothered me even at 50% (subjective) The RGB is subtle and the card is girthy. I bought this 4090 after I returned my original 4090 (TUF OC) that had a TIM application/pumpout problem where the core and hotspot temperatures were increasing dramatically after only 3 weeks of gaming use possibly due to a mounting problem or heat cycling the TIM off the die. The 4090 gaming x trio is very cool and quiet. Even though this card doesn't have a vapor chamber, it cools very well compared to 3080/3090 cards of the past. For comparison at similar fan speeds and power consumption, the gaming x trio is only 2C hotter core and hotspot temps under 450W loads compared to the 4090 suprim X (air) while somehow being cooler on the memory. I have not seen my memory temps go over 68C under any gaming condition. It runs quiet and cool while running most games at 4K 120fps with maxed out settings (Cyberpunk 2077 with RT being an exception, unless DLSS 2 is used). I have seen mine draw up to ~480 watts but I set the power target to 400 watts (89%) and it only loses 3-5 fps on average. I have owned every TI variant since the 780 TI (still have my 2080 TI and 3080 TI) and this leap in performance is unlike anything I have seen previously. Yes it's expensive (Nvidia tax), but wow does it perform. It fits perfectly in my Corsair 4000D Airflow case so do not let people tell you that a large case is required, it's not. Mine never reaches 70c in games or 3DMark, only Furmark can get it past 70c and even then only to 73c, and this is in a Lian-Li PC-O11WX case. There doesn't seem to be extreme levels of binning going on thankfully, since mine was able to reach 2975 MHz with just over 22000 MHz memory. It easily handles 4k 120 FPS without ray tracing, and with ray tracing + DLSS 2 Quality can handle that quite well too. It also fares well with my VR headset which has a resolution of 2880x2720 per eye and I require 90 FPS. This card is the second-smallest air-cooled 4090 on the market (325mm) behind Nvidia's founder's edition. This makes it compatible with many more cases than the other 4090s on the market. Furthermore, this card is the smallest non-blower style air-cooled card which makes it a great fit with cases that support bottom-mounted fans such as the Fractal Torrent Compact. Having bottom-mounted fans blowing cool air directly into the open (non-blower) GPU is like a PC cheat code! The GPU sits at 63C running the Time Spy benchmark and 59C running the Speedway benchmark! Overall, I'd highly recommend this GPU due to its small size and non-blower style cooler.

I have a phanteks p600s case and there is plenty of room to bend the connector way past where its safe to do so. The only negative was that i also had to replace my ups backup.
