In AZ we always seek dry lubes. I tend to try them all at least once. The muc-off lube worked very well in the sandy stuff we get in the valleys. Packed onto the derailleur sprockets a bit more than some others but kept the links quieter, longer, than most. I like it.

This product is good value and does the job. I think that more advice could be given with the product about how to use it. Even reference to on line instructions would be good. There are only a very few lines printed on the side of the bottle which also include general safety instructions. As this is also in four other languages they hadn't got room for detailed advice. As this was my first purchase my main problem was how to get the oil to come out of the bottle. I tried cutting off some of the end of the spout with no result. Eventually I found that the spout could be unscrewed art the base revealing a pull off plastic seal. I suggest that opening instructions should be written on the side as well.

For an expensive racing bike, using Muc-Off Dry Lube is ideal for lubrication of the chain, without road debris adhering to the chain. This means that the chain and sprockets last significantly longer before replacement is required, through Muc-Off providing a dry lubricant, therefore a grinding past is not created, unlike oil based lubrication..

Dry for dry weather and wet for…. You get it. Keep chain clean, check for wear regularly (replace when it’s beyond wear limit) and lube up! This is nice and clean for dry weather, easy to clean off with muc off chain cleaner, and re-apply. Personally I clean chain every week, and use dry lube every 100 miles as per recommendations and it is spot on, nice positive gear changes, minimal chain wear and low friction, C3 is meant to be even better but I can’t ‘tell’
I eBike a lot. I ride hard. I have tried different lube and I usually get 800-1000 miles out of a drive train. I’m currently at 1380 miles only using Muc Off Dry. I wipe off the chain after riding wit a dry towel, lube it up and let it sit until next ride. Minimal maintenance, more riding. Great product!
If applied correctly, it will work great. you need to clean your chain and drive train and then apply this solution. letting it dry for 3 hrs before riding. Good: Really good lubricant - tested by a youtuber. smells great great nozzle on the bottle No black chain marks on leg drivetrain looks clean Bad: causing my gears to slip when peddling washes off in the rain You need to apply it regularly hrs in advance.
I have successfully used Muc-Off cleaning products, and I got really excited with their Project Green to eliminate plastics. I was confused and disappointed when I received this lube that has PTFE in it?! And to advertise on the package that it's biodegradable is unethical. REI and Muc-Off should definitely do better. Back to the WPL lubes for me, even if it does mean a little extra cleaning and care.
This stuff is of no use if you squirt a load on before you go for a ride and hope it'll lube. The chain will be quiet, but it's not an oil. Next ride it'll sound like the Tinman. Rather use a proper chain cleaner like the park tool cyclone and some degreaser. Get that chain and drivetrain looking brand new. Do this twice if needs be. Wash off and dry, use rags, use an airgun, just get it dry and all the water out, all of it. Now run the chain backwards dropping this over the inside of the links. I like to do a link by link drop first until I've gone round once then a quick few turns putting a little more over the inside of the chain. The first was to make sure you're in the rollers this next one loads the chain for a flick through all the gears to get a layer on the ... MoreThis stuff is of no use if you squirt a load on before you go for a ride and hope it'll lube. The first was to make sure you're in the rollers this next one loads the chain for a flick through all the gears to get a layer on the cogs while spinning the chain forwards. Keep spinning it, esp in higher gears to fling it deep in the chain links for a few mins. Now get a clean rag and grip the chain while you back peddle to remove the excess. Swap parts of the rag until it's coming through only slightly lubed. Now put the bike away overnight and it'll be ready in the morn. People who say it doesn't last ( as I first thought ) or gums up are not cleaning and drying the chain, applying to much and not removing excess or not leaving it long enough before riding. If thats you, stick with 3 in 1
Used on my Trek SL6 Emonda with Ultegra groupset. I ride a fairly high mileage and have a regular and well established degreasing, cleaning, maintenance and oiling regime. I followed my normal regime and then used this oil for the first time. OMG! I set out on a 100 kms ride and had to turn around after only 10 kms. The noise coming from the chain and cassette was unbelievable and completely unbearable. Squeak, squeak, crunch, grrrrr, squeak, crunch, It was akin to picking up an abandoned bike left in a field for a year and trying to ride it home. Terrible. When I got home I re degreased the chain and cassette, applied some pretty cheap oil I had lying around and.... perfect :) I won't dispute if this product actually does the job of lubricating the parts as it's ... MoreUsed on my Trek SL6 Emonda with Ultegra groupset. Couldn't be more disappointed, Complete waste of money on what is supposed to be a premium product.
This stuff is great. Smells good when you put it on and is easy to put on my bike chain. I ride blue mountain bike trails that get really dusty in the summer. In the summer my riding time needs me to apply about once every 2 months. During the winter, I can go as long as once every three months. Dust doesn’t gum up or stick to the chain like the other wax type stuff. I usually completely clean my chain off the bike 2 times a year in a solvent like bath to really clean it out.
