Big fan of these. Take some super glue to remount the skirt to the weight but otherwise work great. The ink definitely attracts the big fish out of the crowd

A must have for serious angler

This jig is very good to have in your tackle box. It will surely give you a bottom fish with a slow jigging technique. Craftsmanship is perfect and its action in the water is very realistic.

Allhype

Where do I start. The hooks are low quality. You should expect more from a Mustad product. The “ink†is all hype. It is difficult to load and takes a couple days to wash off. The actual skirts will not last and tear quickly on larger fish such as snapper. May be good for smaller species but I cannot recommend for larger ones.

An effective lure in the right conditions

I just used this lure on a recent trip and was surprised with how well it went (noting that it didn't come home as a critter kept it). On the fish I was chasing (larger fish like trevally, cobia and black jew) it held together well (another member of our group used one in a different location and smaller picker fish, probably some trigger fish, destroyed it) and the hooks were well up to the task on these larger fish. One interesting thing about it was that it was slow to get to the bottom, but then held it well - essentially it behaved like a 30g lure on the way down, but a 100g lure once it reached the bottom.

Best Halibut Lure Ever!

Used in Gulf of Alaska fishing for Hslibut and Yellow Eye Rockfish. This lure consistently outfitted baited hooks and other lures. Strated with a 5 oz at slack tide and caught a 57 lb Halibut. Recently purchased the 12 and 16 oz versions for stronger tides. It works!

InkVader put to the test.

I purchased the InkVader targeting Grouper. I have used it on two separate occasions. The ink tablets last for a few drops. The 9oz lure which I purchased is a bit light for 200-400 foot drops. I have only jigged with it, I have not attempted trolling it. I will give it another try in a week. Construction is very good, hooks etc.

This lure works. Snapper love it. Triggerfish however tear the tentacles apart quickly, so if they are around, the lure does not last that long, Overall, a great “unique” lure. Want to see this jig in action, watch Capt Collier on YouTube. Has has a ball fishing this jig.

Simply works

I was only able to fish the medium 5oz glow for 1 trip so far in about 95’ off of Charleston, SC and what a trip it was. I fished this on my Shimano grappler j slow pitch rod and was hooked up within 30 seconds after hitting the bottom if I even got to the bottom every time for the whole trip. I caught more fish then the other two guys on the boat who were fishing live menhaden, although they did catch larger red snapper with the live bait. I was doing a nice slow smooth jig and getting hit on the pitch and the fall and was even getting hit when I let it sit still while I was doing something else on the boat. This lure works...PERIOD

Got one of these at a local tackle shop, found in the bargain bin for maybe $2......thought what the heck why not? Went out in Gulf of Mexico for Red Snapper trip. While everyone else was using cut squid or sardines I dropped this one down and it did NOT disappoint. Several red snappers later the skirt finally gave way to the sharp teeth of the snappers. Even damaged it brought up fish at a rate FAR better than cut squid or other dead bait. Got home and was shocked at the real retail price.....ordered several more anyway. Fast forward to another offshore trip, targetting snapper and other reef fish 1st drop pulled up 2 very large red snappers!! The ink tablets certainly make for better strike ratios, but even without, better strike ratio than dead bait and even live bait.

Wanted to love it

First time ordering from Mustad directly. Was excited to use this product. When I opened one of the tentacles was torn. Reached out to Mustad about replacing and haven’t heard back. Very disappointed for the price, if it tears in the box what will happen when a fish grabs it?
