We usually make our own passata/tomato sauce base, as most pre-made versions skew a little too sweet for our taste. This one also has a little of that usual sweetness to it, but the overall flavour was very nice - not watered down at all, like most others. We personally might not buy this again in our household, but if you already often use passata, this is well worth considering as we think it tastes better than most others that are already available. It would probably be excellent as a shortcut way to a good ragu for a lasagne!

I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. Used this to make a quick Bolognese - which was perfect! Just needed to aadd a bit of salt. Used the remainder for topping a pizza base, but felt it was a bit too sour. Not sure I would buy this often, as it?s a bit pricey and I do prefer to make my own sauce. However it?s perfect for a store cupboard back up when time is limited.
We used this instead of canned tomatoes to make a ragu for Spaghetti Bolognese, wow this passata is in a class of its own. The best Spag Bol we have ever made, there will be no going back now
Made pasta sauce with some bacon bits. It was so smooth it wasn't your normal passata. My husband loved the pasta and said it was a little different from usual, more smooth, almost creamy texture which he loved. I will definitely buy again, given the intensity and flavour, the price is actually just right.
I bought this after seeing someone use it on an American cooking show and gosh was I surprised at how good it is! I use it as pizza sauce or just stirred through boiled pasta - a light grating of parmesan and you don't need to add anything else. Yummy!
Mutti is my favourite brand and Id normally use the tinned tomatoes to make something like a Bolognese, but this passata is even better. Great flavour, and just the ideal texture - thick and smooth, and delicious.
I received this product free from Ocado to review. I?m already a fan of the Mutti tinned tomatoes, for their fresh sweet flavour without the acidity that you get with a lot of tinned tomatoes, and that is reflected in this passata. It was really nice to have a tomato sauce that already had flavourings added, saving me time in the kitchen, but I?m glad that it was all natural ingredients and no unnecessary sugar added! I think the sauce would be very versatile for pizza and stews, I used it with veal meatballs, and that was a yummy combination.
Superior product in every way to any other brand. We are big fans of Mutti products. I recommend to try any of their tomato products as weve not come across a disappointing one yet. We use this sometimes to add to mini pizzas we make, and it tastes delicious.
