I tried several breast feeding pillows and this is the one that helped me the most. I had a really hard time getting good latches with both my babies, but because this pillow clips around the waist, it holds the baby in place so I was able to use both hands to get good latches. I love that the cover is removable because the amount of times my baby spit up and my milk sprayed all over the place was almost comical, so it’s definitely easy to wash. I did have to roll up a burp rag to rest my hand on the pillow while holding my babies head so I didn’t have to strain my wrist. Overall, this is worth the price tag and I would recommend the BreastFriend.

I purchased this pillow for my second time breastfeeding and honestly felt that I should have used this for my first breastfeeding experience. I say this mostly because it definitely helped to position baby to have a good latch. I love the design pattern and the pocket for holding a drink. It was easy to put on and the back support was nice to have compared to my previous nursing pillow. My only dislike is that is super bulky and can be frustrating to put on when you are trying to quickly feed baby because of the strap. I would recommend this pillow for moms who are breastfeeding for the first time.

Struggled with the boppy for nursing so decided to try my breast friend. Noticed a huge different in comfort level and effectiveness of our nursing sessions by having this pillow provide the proper support. Would recommend ten fold over the boppy. The pattern is nice too. It’s a light gray/blue color with white and is very neutral.

Breastfeeding made easier for new parents!
2 August 2021

This product was invaluable for the early breastfeeding weeks. We even brought it the hospital! The large shape and structure allows you to wrap it tightly around your torso to prevent gapping (which is a huge problem with the boppy) and helps you to hold up your little baby on a firm but comfortable surface. The cover is removable for washing and you can buy multiple covers to reduce the amount of laundry. This product is a must-have for first time breastfeeding parents!

Let Me Tell You About My Brest Friend
18 January 2022

I didn't know I needed this but I'm so glad I discovered it. The lumbar support is great, there's a pocket, good for stashing your phone or a burp cloth. It snaps on with one hand and adjusts by just pulling. It made feeding so much better, my arms could relax but my baby was held at the right position and was comfortable. Definitely helped me out while working on the latch. Cover washed easily after being spit up on, retained it's shape well. Despite the bumps on the surface, it makes a good surface as a lap desk.

Not for c-sections
26 October 2021

This was one product I was very excited to use but ended up never liking. If you’ll have a c-section, I wouldn’t recommend this product. I had an unplanned c-section and that prevented me from really being able to use this. It’s supposed to sit right under your boobs, and my daughter is too big for me to use it now that I’m healed. The weight of my baby pushed the pillow down on my belly, and it caused painful pressure on the incision. I tried it a couple times after the soreness started to fade, but if she started coughing and needed to be put upright, it’s nearly impossible to do with the pillow strapped to you. That strap was the reason I put this on my registry over other products, but it’s the reason I ended up not liking it. I felt trapped in it. I ended up using a regular bed pillow and now just use that or a throw pillow. Also, I thought the fabric was rough, even after washing. Maybe that’s just the ginkgo leaf pattern fabric though. I’m giving this 3 stars because it’s a good idea I know it’s supportive and could work well for other women, just not for me.

Our Brest Friend
24 February 2020

My wife and I recently visited a lactation nurse because our baby son was having problems latching. He is a little over two weeks old. We were exclusively feeding him with pump-expressed milk, and sometimes formula. Whenever we tried to breastfeed him, he would get extremely fussy and swing his arms and legs. We tried the football hold and the lying down position , you name it. However , when we went to go see a lactatation nurse, he was successively breastfeeding. We noticed the pillow she was using had the name Brest Friend so I ordered two days shipping on the pillow and couldn’t wait for it to come in the mail. We also used a milk syringe to squirt in his mouth around the nipple to help him to latch. The cotton cover on this pillow was nice but I really liked the waterproof cover we use dat the nurse’s office. However, the cotton might be better for him to rest on.We recently bought a boppy but it doesn’t fit around my wife’s tummy, even though I like to use it to feed the baby with the bottle. This pillow goes all the way around, and it is firmer so the baby doesn’t sink in like other pillows. There are even raised bumps around where the breasts are to elevate his head a little bit.The snap is a bit tricky and you have to make sure it really connects.Overall, I would say that the BF pillow has changed our breastfeeding experienced from a negative to a positive one by its unique design and I would recommend this product.

Supportive Pillow
10 May 2021

This breastfeeding pillow is a big improvement over the Boppy and the stack of pillows/blankets I was using before. My back/neck were hurting quite a bit and this pillow offers much more support. The quality isn’t the greatest, but for $35.00 you are getting what you’re paying for. Like other reviewers have done, I put the plastic case the pillow came in underneath the pillow cover, but I ended up removing it because the plastic smells really bad. I’ll try to clean it and/or let it air dry and see if that helps, but for now, I feel much better using it without the icky smelling plastic. I am also not a huge fan of the raised bumps on the pillow—my daughter’s head never seems to hit them at a good angle and it just looks uncomfortable. Worth it
10 May 2022

Comfortable, great alignment for baby. Wish it had a safe waterproof cover. I like that the cover is washable even if it needs to air dry. The inside is just regular foam so it isn’t easy to clean when baby spits up or milk spills. I like the blue waves pattern. Not the easiest to remove while holding baby.

just ok - broke after one week
3 March 2022

I really wanted to love this pillow. I loved it at first, and there are some things I really like about it. I really like how its firm and its especially useful for the football hold. Its easy to prop one leg up to angle to pillow - very useful for my newborn who has reflux and spits up easy and I have to feed her as angled as possible. The reason why I am giving it 3 stars is that unfortunately, it broke after only one week of use. . I had taken the cover off it to put in the wash, and the thin back area started breaking off while trying to put it on. The pillow is made up of a firm foam, so its not super flexibile and putting it on and off puts a lot of wear on the skinny back part of the pillow. I am very petite and only 100lbs so its not like I have a larger body type that would make getting this pillow around me difficult. For the price of the pillow, you're just getting a piece of foam. I wish the pillow would come with a spare cover or you could buy extra covers separately, so you always have a clean one to put on if it gets soiled.
