The 96 oz. wide mouth soft canteen is my go-to water container for multiday outings. In camp it gets filled with treated water. 96 oz. typically gets me through dinner and breakfast without having to make another trip to the water source. On the trail it folds up nicely to go in a pack pocket empty. The large hand grip hole is good for hauling full or pouring. This is my second one, the previous did not come back from a recent trip, after probably falling out of a pocket. I also have a 48 oz. that comes on some trips as a working water container and a 32 oz. that serves as a quick access dry bag repair bag for sea kayaking. I seem to get good life out of them.

A terrific way to carry water while at your backcountry camp if the water source is a bit of a distance away. Collapses very nicely, and is quite light relative to how much it can carry. My only gripe is that it's not as durable as the Nalgene water bottles; but that said, it comes along on every backpack trip.

These are great! The wide mouth allows me to attach it to my MSR Guardian water purifier, so we always have clean safe water to drink. I would recommend getting a Nalgene splash guard for it because it makes it easier to pour out the water without making a mess. You can also freeze them and use as an ice pack and when they unthawing you have clean fresh water to drink.

It's just. Put it in the panniers and it flooded them first time out. Beginning of the ride it definitely wasn't leaking, rode some dirt and it was leaking from the seams.
These are the hard to find Nalgene wide mouth water bottles. The wide mouth makes it easy to add ice cubes which is so helpful especially when filling from an industrial hotel size ice machine. Using ice in these helps keep food cold in ice chests and then can be used as drinking water once it melts. Disappointing that I can't find these at my local REI now so happy to find here.
The best of two worlds, it has a wide mouth like the original nalgene, but once emptied it folds easily and with a better carabiner. I tried it to melt snow and no problem using boiling water, moreover, being soft is the perfect glove for the high mountain. It has not been punctured (which was my main concern) with the murras or shin, but still I take care of it. The only but is that it does not have to measure volume such as rigid and the paint goes easy, beyond that it is perfect and does not leave bruises when carried hanging from the backpack or even fits in the hardshell pocket to melt snow on the way to the top
After having to leave the tent on cold, rainy & dark nights once too often, I decided to google p bottles (this review wouldn't post if I wrote the 3-letter word). I read a recommendation & decided to give this bottle a try. I and my accommodating husband found it invaluable & are ordering more in case they are discontinued, which is too often the case. As a woman, I added the Sanigirl product (could also use a SheWee, etc.) and they worked amazingly well together. Good to use a baggy and wash out in a day or two. Now we wouldn't be without it! Could also be used in a vehicle, e.g., in a pinch on a hot summer trip when a pet can't be left in the car. Glad MEC carries it. Lightweight and fairly durable.
This is a great option when backpacking or traveling. I have used this backpacking 30 nights a year including the Teton Crest Trail and traveling for weeks at a time on the east and west coast. It works great with a Steri-Pen pre filter or any pump, weighs only about 3 oz and rolls up into almost nothing. Just keep in mind that it will develop holes and start to fail if used frequently. The same is true for any other similar water container such as Vapor bottles and so on. I had to replace mine after about 2 years.
Love these, I'm a minimal/lightweight hiker, these so easy to fill will filtration pump ye occupy virtually no space when empty in my pack during the day.I love the 2L as its useable for carrying drinking water hiking between water, especially love the 3L as I always seem to find my best camp spots(think views!) are a hike from water! So the 3L allows an easy fill for cooking/overnight reasons without lugging numerous bottles.
I purchased this and the one size bigger from somewhere other than MEC for almost half the price that MEC sells them for. But either way these things are great! I leave the big one in the back of the jeep so I always have water for me and my dog. And I throw the other one in my back pack, and it rolls up or flattens so it's out of the way. Other review said there's cracked in the corner, but I've had mine rolled up and unrolled when it frozen many many times and no problems. Much better than the platypus version. Only negative for me would be that it is almost impossible to pour with one hand, try it and you'll see what I mean :)
