Nalgene Wide Mouth Sustain 1L Water Bottle Grey

A while back, my husband borrowed my water bottle and lost it. After looking into my options, I decided to go with Nalgene, partially because of their reputation a d partially because you can customize the design on your bottle. I'm very glad I did.First of all, this is a fairly larger water bottle, although it isn't bulky or awkward to carry. The plastic is much more sturdy than other reusable water bottles I've bought in the past, and the cap being attached ensures you won't lose it.As for the customizable image, I'm impressed with the quality. I thought it would be screen printed and easy to scratch off, but it seems like there is some sort of coating over the ink to prevent fading and chipping. Bottles with drinking mouth pieces tend to get funky and need bleaching after a while, which means you need to clean them better after to avoid having your water taste like bleach, and it just gets annoying. The threads on this are large enough to make cleaning even the harder to get areas that may be more prone to bacterial and fungal growth much easier to take care of.

The way to grip it unless you have a clip of some sort is the little handle made from the lid when it is screwed on. I thought, "cool, I'll carry this by my finger/fingers" since it was a small little opening. The plastic was stiff and the angle hurt my fingers to carry across campus. It also smelled kind of strange the whole time I had mine and thinking about that every time I took a sip of water was distressing. The smell never died down or got better. It smelled cheap, artificial, plastic-y, and I was concerned for how that was affecting the quality of my water. As simple and pure as drinking water can be

Everything you could ask for in a water bottle - wide mouth for big chug and easy fill, BPA free and easy to clean. As a rock climber I love Nalgenes. You're not a real climber unless you own one and throw decals all over it. After a tough route I'll lower down, catch my breath and down some water and I could honestly say water from my Nalgene tastes heavenly. Ultra durable, comes in a variety of colours and built to last. What are you waiting for!? Get yourself a Nalgene and stay hydrated!

Great system

A slim 1.5L bottle perfect for packing into pack side pockets. I purchased this along with the Hardside Hydration swig rig as I needed to double my water carry for a 6 day hike in the NT Outback, and I didn't want to squeeze a bladder in my already full 50L pack. My search led me to PAST Outdoors. The swig rig with nalgene bottle work perfectly for my needs. Easy to swap to other packs and I keep the bottle in the fridge ready to go. Added bonus, the swig rig cap also fits my existing 1.5L Camelback bottle (you just need to adjust the straw height or get a second straw if using with different size bottles).

Indestructible

Not only have I had the same nalgene bottle at my office job for the last 6 years, I have one for the gym and one for outdoor activities.We were frisbee golfing the other weekend and my brother in law got his frisbee stuck in a tree. After some attempts at shaking the tree and throwing some rocks, the thing wouldn't budge. Without hesitation I handed him my 32oz full nalgene bottle and told him to chuck it at the frisbee.Initially he told me no way, this frisbee was about 20 feet up in this tree, he thought for sure my bottle would meet its demise on the way down and crash upon impact. I stood there with absolute confidence in my bottle and never broke a sweat. Even with every crash back on the ground as my brother in law cringed, I stood there calmly and told him to keep going until after about 8 or 9 throws, we finally got the frisbee down.Nalgene is the bomb and will be the only bottles I buy, because chances are I'll only need to buy half a dozen over the course of my lifetime.

Lightweight environmentally conscious and functional

Why I like my Nalgene bottle:- they lightweight being made of plastic, I attach them to my bag with a caribena when travelling and fill it as I go.- have a great seal. I've camped with hot water in my Nalgene bottle to keep my sleeping bag warm. I never have to worry about it leaking.- are robust- have a wide mouth (good for pouring melted snow in from a pan)- can take hot or cold liquid.

Made from recycled plastic: great. Wrapped in extra plastic: not great

I bought this replacement wide mouthed Nalgene bottle because I left mine somewhere on a hike the other day. I've always found these bottles great. This was only the third one I have ever purchased. And...it's the only one wrapped on the outside in a further layer of unnecessary plastic film! What??? How good is this for the environment? One more sheet of plastic that hopefully will go in the right recycling bin at the waste recycling depot. Bad move, maker of Nalgene bottle. This is the only reason I give it 3 stars instead of 5. Great bottles otherwise.

Most convenient bottle

I got the smaller bottle which fits perfectly into my side pocket of my laptop bag and into the cup holders in my car, which ultimately even though it’s smaller, means I drink water more often. I had never leaked! I’ve had so many refillable water bottles in my lifetime and cannot believe I didn’t know about Nalgene until now. Definitely worth buying. I think this size would be great for kids as well as they can slot it in the side pocket of their school bags, no leaking!

NALGENE TRITAN WIDE MOUTH 1 LITRE BOTTLE

I bought the Glow in the dark version of this bottle and love it. Its super tough and looks like it will last forever. Can't believe I have wasted money on other drinks bottle all these years. Should have bought one of these years ago. Decent size and easy to drink from. I really like the glow in the Dark one too as makes it easy when grabbing a drink during the night and the bottle lets off a slight glow in the tent. Perfect bottle. Would recommend to anyone wanting a solid drinks bottle that's built to last.
