We could never get it to start tracking automatically and several times it wouldn’t register. The biggest complaint we’ve had is that the camera is too sensitive to sound and motion. During the day, even on the lowest settings it notifies us of “motion” when no one is in the room and we have had to resort to turning the camera completely off. It would be nice if you could set a specific time of day for it to send notifications during because even if you are playing in the room in the middle of the day and not using the crib it will notify you of sound. The other negative thing we experienced were some incorrect events logged like “baby taken out of bed asleep” when no one else was in the room in the middle of the night but she had scooted to a corner and the camera lost sight of her. You can report these events as incorrect so that they can improve upon the algorithm but there are still things to be improved. Overall, we think it’s a pretty cool baby gadget with all the bells and whistles.

We love the addition of the multi-stand because it makes the Nanit Pro camera easily transportable--we dismounted the camera and took the multi-stand with us on vacation to Great Wolf Lodge without difficulty! It wasn't necessary, but we did install a wifi booster because Baby's room was at the opposite end of the house from our router, but we had fine enough signal before we installed the Nanit for it to operate properly without a hitch (2700+ sq ft house).With our first child, we weren't convinced we needed a breathing monitor system after we read a lot of reviews of another breathing monitor system where babies were perpetually kicking off the tracking system causing a lot of error and a lot of undue parental stress, so we decided not to try it with our first child. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel, we were able to try the Nanit Pro with our second child in exchange for our honest review, and we have been blown away! We've had no issues with connectivity, and regardless of how crazy our son sleeps, we've never had an errors or any difficulty with the camera detecting his breathing. The peace of mind that we have gained particularly when he started rolling and sleeping on his tummy at 4 months, croup at 5 months, and RSV at 6 months easily makes the Nanit Pro worth while!The video colors are surprisingly vivid during the day, and the night time infrared video quality far surpasses our old monitor. The app dashboard makes it easy to track amount and quality of sleep, sleep trends, respiration, and sleep movement. Initially I couldn't figure out whey I was getting motion alerts even when baby wasn't in his crib only later to realize his mobile had feathers on it that would occasionally trip the movement system when the a/c would come on, ha. After removing his mobile (because, let's be honest, it was only for looks anyway), we have had no extraneous movement alerts.Another perk of the Nanit Pro Complete system is the addition of the smart sheet, and it is soooo smart! It's unreal how it can measure our son's height even when he's not laying as straight as a board. We compared the Nanit's measurement to that of our pediatrician and they were within a 1/4 inch, and I'm sure our pediatrician's measurement was the incorrect one. We loved the ability to track growth because our son had a lot of feeding issues initially and was down to the second percentile in weight. Of course that made us concerned for the rest of his growth as well. Being able to monitor his height via the smart sheet, gave us even more peace of mind plus is a really cool party trick to impress your guests.Overall, we are thrilled with the Nanit Pro Complete System, and we really do regret not having it with our first son. The only con I can see is that I do miss having a handheld parent monitoring station occasionally; however, the pros of this system far outweigh this minor "con" (although I wouldn't really call it a true con--I think it's a matter of preference).Pros:-Very, very, very easy set up-No error signals and can read respiration regardless of the contorted positions baby is sleeping in-Smart sheet is the most amazing way to track growth providing added peace of mind-Multi-stand makes it easily transportable-User friendly app with helpful insights (it can even provide some helpful sleep training tips! Granted, babies move around so much that it's impossible to measure them 100% accurate however you measure them. It's more for fun than to get accurate measures.Overall, this is a great baby monitor if you are looking for the most state-of-the-art baby monitor. In trying this product, it does not work for me for two reasons. One, my child sleeps in a blackout tent over his crib, so I had to use the multi stand, and not the actual wall mount as this was blocked. The camera did not do a good job of readjusting lighting to the pocket in the tent he sleeps in, and since using the secondary base, the features of sleep analysis were not available. Now- this is not the case for all, but if anyone uses additional items over cribs, this would be an impact as this monitor is made to reach over and be directly over the crib. I placed the camera where it was supposed to be for trial outside of sleep times, and the camera clarity was clear. I also liked seeing the temp and the humidity when using both stands. The camera itself easily clicked in and out of both stand options.Second critique, is the phone app itself. This monitor does not come with a physical screen to watch, it is an integrated phone app. When installing the app, I was not impressed with the "basic" package that was included. If making a significant investment for this monitor, I would not want to also make a separate subscription payment to get more features and have longer access to the "insights" about sleep and development. I also did not sleep as well not being able to just turn over and hear my child, and needing to actually click on my phone to be able to see/hear him. I am definitely a separate monitor kind of mama. It was a little tricky at first to figure out how to turn off the camera during the daytime hours, so for the first few hours I continued to get alerts every time my baby babbled. (It is in the right hand corner of the screen.)So, pros: I love the breathing feature capability especially if someone is a new mom when that anxiety is the highest, the app is easy to use, and the included items were an overall great package. The cord protectors over the wall mount cord is just an additional safety perk I was impressed with. Also, having an additional stand included for the camera for travel is great. Cons, it has to be directly over the crib to use the features, which does not work for me, and also I do not like having the app or having to pay more to get all of the features. Overall, this product had great features and would be super helpful for a new mama, who could be reassured by those additional statistics and does not mind the app for a monitor. I cannot say I recommend as a mom of multiple kiddos where I want to be able to see them in their sleep space without turning my phone on.

I was concerned at first that my phone would go to sleep due to inactivity and I would not hear when my dude cried out or woke up, but the app keeps your phone active (so make sure you plug it in!). For those that don't want the monitor on all night, you can set the app up to send notifications for varying sensitivities- motion, sound, humidity, temperature, breathing motion. Technology these days really is crazy.We are currently using the wall mount but are most exciting for the ability to use the table stand. We have a vacation and a wedding in the next month and were stressing out about the inability to monitor our little one/which one of us will call it quits early to spend the night with our tiny man. All we have to do is set up the stand and boom, baby monitor. Our neighbors are so jealous that we don't have to set up a monitor with an antenna sticking up in one magical corner of our room to see a crystal clear image of our kiddo. Even when we are out of town we can take a peek since this works over wifi! We also love that we can invite others to use the app. Grandparents watching the little for a few days are quickly set up in the Nanit app.We were unable to use the included breathing band since I now have a one year old (but look forward to keeping that around for baby #2). We did give the measurement tool a go with the magical sheets and in spite of our dude wiggling around the data was pretty accurate! We also keep a humidifier in his room and the numbers shown in the app match up with the humidifier pretty closely (within a couple percentage points). If we hadn't already purchased a noise machine this would have been such an amazing one and done device.So far we have no complaints and absolutely recommend the Nanit system not only for it's reliably clear image but also for the ability to take it on the go. Such a relief to have one less worry as a new parent!

There are many other products on the market which can measure your child's breathing at night, however (in my opinion) they are a bit overkill. To not only be able to see my baby breathing because the HD monitor is so clear, but to also have the ability to add the belly band would have saved the need to check in on my daughter when we first put her sleeping in her own room. I also LOVE the fact you can keep track of LO height with the use of the sheets. They are a cute pattern and can let me know how she is growing... win-win.3. Nanit seemed to have thought of everything when it comes to the accessories. I really appreciate Nanit creating many different sleep products to be able to use the breathing feature of the system. You can literally find a product which will fit your needs however you babe sleeps best. And if you already have your tried and true sleep product, you can just add the belly band and call it a day. The stand which comes with the complete set is great for moving the monitor from room to room. It is nice to be able to use one camera and app for both sleep and awake times. I move the camera to my playroom so I can watch both my toddler and baby while I am cooking dinner in the kitchen. There are other accessories as well which can be purchased which may fit your families needs best.Cons-1. Does eat up battery life on the device you have the app installed when in use. Be sure there is plenty of charge for nap times, and needs to be plugged in at night. When nap time is over I turned off the camera on the app and still needed to charge my tablet mid day because I like to have the screen up (in night mode) during the day. At night you can set the sound to background noise and turn your phone or tablet off and it will conserve battery life, but it is one thing to note if you like to see your child while they are napping.2. While the initial camera placement for a baby is awesome and I understand why it needs to be over the crib, it is not a great set up for when transitioning to toddlerhood. I know you can un mount and put more holes in the wall, or use the stand, but when your toddler gets the freedom of their own bed having something mounted to the wall and can see the entire room is very helpful for safety purposes. Putting the monitor on the stand which comes with the kit would be a solution but the fewer loose and easy to grab things in the room for a toddler the better (we are literally going through it right now with my oldest... its a struggle)Neutral Comment:This system does utilize wi-fi and for our family we like these types of systems. It is a benefit to be able to check in on the kids when we are not with them (and they are with Nana or Gramama). It is also nice I can be out in the backyard or driveway with my toddler while my baby is napping and not have to worry about the range of the system. Nanit does a great job of walking caregivers through additional security measures to ensure the system is as secure as it can be, and I really appreciate this added step.Last thoughts:The complete set is worth getting with the monitoring system. It comes with everything you need to be able to use the basic features without needing to add on additional accessories. It is a little more money in the beginning, but you will want to use the features and have to add on additional accessories later- better to do it up front. You can also upgrade the tracking information to keep track of sleep habits and additional insights. This information is not super helpful for us... but my girl has been a great sleeper from the beginning. If we were having sleep challenges, to be able to go back through her night time sleep habits with a professional would be invaluable information to have... and you can have it with this system. We will be continuing to use this product for my baby and transitioning away from our original monitoring system.

The HD baby monitor camera is well-designed and such a useful tool. Some features I liked most are the built-in night light, sound machine, and two way microphone system. One thing I’ll point out is that the night vision isn’t as clear as I would like. My baby usually likes to sleep in a darker space and the HD quality isn’t as high as I expected. There are moments where I can’t tell if he is breathing or not even while trying to zoom in on the camera, which is why I think the breathing band would be useful but unfortunately the size we received didn’t fit our baby. The smart sheet is a great concept but unfortunately we were not able to have the correct placement of the camera. We are currently renting our place and we are not allowed to drill holes into the wall. So the best we could do for now is to place the camera at the edge of the bed where there are existing screws. I am hoping we can find a way to set it up the way it is intended to be placed. We did use the multi-stand which we used with our tripod and it worked great capturing our little one napping and playing in their playard. We are traveling abroad soon, so the multi-stand will be something I look forward to bringing with us. I found the Nanit App to be incredibly easy to navigate and I love how I am able to control the nightlight and sound machine on the app. There are so many features in the app that I do appreciate, especially the humidity and temperature reader. I actually bought a temperature/humidity reader for our rooms last year so having this built in the app is so convenient. The insights data has been fun to track and hilarious to see how often my husband and I walk up to the crib in the middle of the night. I think it’s encouraging and freeing as well to see that my son is able to sleep through the night and I don’t have to track his sleep on a separate app to see how his sleep pattern is. One thing I would change on the app is accessing the sounds for the sound machine. It would be better to have the music icon on the ’Live’ section on the app instead of having to expand the camera view. I didn’t discover the sound machine option until a few days ago since it was tricky to find. Overall, this baby monitoring system is quite advanced in its features and I am impressed with what I’ve experienced with the Nanit so far in the past few weeks.
