I was able to set up Favorites and Routines very easily within the app. If you do not have your phone handy, I love that you can still turn on and adjust the light and sound via a button on the top of the Nanit. We have a bedtime routine with a calming dim light and white noise, and a wake-up routine for weekdays and weekends with a bright light and the morning sound. Both routines turn on at the time set up in the app, which is amazing and another thing we don't have to think about doing manually every day! Moreover, it was compact enough not to occupy too much space, and lightweight enough that my toddler can move it to wherever we are winding down for the evening. The small size also makes it practical for traveling and helps us stay on track even when we arenât home.One feature that I would like to see added to the product is some kind of turn off or fade out. When I start the routines, they will run until manually turned off. It would be nice if the âwake upâ routine could be set to turn off after 30 minutes or if the sleep routine could slowly dim lights and lower volume automatically, so that I donât have to remember to go and turn it off. After searching on the website, I did find a tip to stop a routine by starting a new routine with no light and sound, but this part was a bit unintuitive for me, and I feel it would be easier to add a stop time to the current routine.Overall, I would highly recommend the Nanit Sound + Light machine to any parent looking to establish a healthy sleep routine for their child. Iâve had a handful of different kinds of sound machines, I was given this one to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I enjoyed it. I really like the clock feature and the ability to turn it off for a complete dark room. The different sound options available is really great too. My daughter definitely needs âshushingâ to sleep so that has been really helpful for me versus laying on the her floor shushing her at 3 am. The âroutinesâ option for setting schedules has helped my older child understand when we begin bed time when he hears the sound come on. Also, seeing the light change color âgreen means goâ we can get up and start our day. My eyes are arenât a fan of the newer popular led-ish lights, there are a ton of light option colors to choose from on this machine and I do enjoy the âSoft Lightâ color option, that one isnât harsh but I canât figure out how to make that a bit brighter than middle of the night bright but thatâs probably just user error and I havenât figured it out yet so not Nanits fault. Over all I would purchase a second unit should I need another one for a different babyâs room.

I would however like to have everything in one device that featured a camera and light machine. Taking the Nanit out of the box, I was very impressed with the quality of the manufacturing. The easy part was downloading the app. Following the directions, I scanned QR barcode at the bottom of sound and light machine. So, this part is supposed to connect Wi-Fi access to sound and light. Now that I've been able to utilize it, I understand why people enjoy them so much, but this one in particular. It is super easy to set up. We already were a "Nanit family" so I liked that I am able to simple click "Nanit Sound and Light" from inside my Nanit camera app and it automatically opens my app for the sound machine. Until the Nanit Sound and Light machine that is. Now that I've been able to utilize it, I understand why people enjoy them so much, but this one in particular. It is super easy to set up. We already were a "Nanit family" so I liked that I am able to simple click "Nanit Sound and Light" from inside my Nanit camera app and it automatically opens my app for the sound machine. Is it a little strange that there are 2 separate apps? Sure, but I can see why it makes sense and I appreciate that they still linked them a little bit. I was also pleasantly surprised, after setting it up, that there is a display on the sound machine that shows the time as well. The routines are ridiculously cool and helpful. My children wake up at the crack of dawn anyway so I don't really utilize the "wake-up" routines, but I am really enjoying the "wind-down" routines to get them settled into bed. We home school and I am even planning to use this to let the kids know when it's ready to switch lessons, or when it's time for their "playtime" to wrap up and start moving into clean up time. I think this versatility is my favorite part of this machine. I can use it with all my kids, from my infant to my 11-year old, and they all enjoy it. You can pick literally any color you can think of for the light, and there are a number of sound options (I've discovered I really enjoy the sound of "pink noise", something I didn't even know existed before I got this machine).The one thing I wish it did differently- I wish you could play your own music through it. My kids listen to audio adventures at night before bed and it would be great if they could play it straight through this machine. Instead, we play it through another bluetooth speaker, and then have this machine set up to start around the time those end to "wind them down" into bedtime. Overall, it's an amazing product though and is certainly helping us get routines into our home. I think the color changes and the noise fading in/fading out is really great to help the kids recognize when a certain time has come3. It's incredibly easy to control from your phone as well.Long story short, I recommend this product 100%. (It's also super easy to take with you on the go! It was perfect for our family vacation at a hotel recently).Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this machine so I could give a thorough review.
