Mind you the other ones might be slightly brighter possibly? But because of the tube like shape of this pavolite tube, the quality and amount of light is much more pleasing. And way more than bright enough. I'm usually using at 15 percent because it's generally too bright for the average application. I also love using it for an incredibly flexible hybrid do everything light. Not just photo or videography. With the magnets and some paper tape. Actually is great for a small room key light for video. And great for one light portrait work if need be. It isn't perfect, but the best quality for those applications in such a small package that ive ever experienced. Those other well regarded lights that I own just don't give off that same pleasant quality of light like the pavotube. And they certainly don't feel as versatile, where I alwasy want this on my person, to be used in pretty much any scenario where any kind of light is needed lol. It's only real drawback to me, is the lack of a Bluetooth ability, that would obviously let you control everything from your smartphone like my other lights that I own. Especially because now I want to own at least one or two more of them and I'm imagining it will be an annoyance when I have them set up in my studio to have to go and manually configure each light versus an all sync on my phone etc. That is easily where any other average rgb led light today beats this guy. Otherwise this is a perfect little light to own and especially for the price. I think I might have paid like 250 for my falconeyes new from b&h. for that I could have got 2 or even 3 of these and had way more power and versatility!

I bought these specifically for a product shoot, to add a colored rim light to the product I was shooting. They worked amazingly! The battery life is great, and I love the anti role design of the lights. Also they are magnetic and super versatile as to where you can put these. Being able to hang them or attach them with out extra stands, cables or gear to trip over is key. I was able to build a pretty tidy set and was then able to focus on creativity, and less about the gear.Love these lights and the endless possibilities to create colorful images. I also will be using these as hair lights for interview video projects. Stoked to see what else I can do with them.

These are bright and have color options for days. Love all that. My 4 Star rating is cause the battery life is less than an hour and it gets really hot. I have to plug them in to do my videos. They require no charge when plugged in on a dead battery, they will turn on right away which is great. I just needed those batteries to do better for me.

Highly impressed with the build quality, this little guy has an aluminum body, feels sturdy in hand and not cheap! I love that they included a wrist strap, a soft pouch and a high quality fabric wrapped USB C cable (which now sits in my car for all charging needs)! The 1/4 20 threads at both ends make it easy to mount in any desirable position. Same goes with the pentagonal end caps that make it easy to lay it flat on the table without the body rolling off.The little OLED display on the back seems small, but it's very sharp, detailed and includes all the operating parameters, including an estimated run time based on the light settings and battery level. I photograph and film cars and for car interior details, it is amazing! Even though at times you'd think it's underpowered, when in the field I found myself dimming it down to 60-80%!Some of the various modes may seem gimmicky, but I actually used the Disco mode the other night when my girlfriend was in the mood to dance all night! Battery life was about half night :) but I ended up using it plugged in for many hours without it ever overheating. My only negative comment to this LED light is the start up time, I wish it was shorter. Sometimes I need a light on a pinch and holding the power button down for few seconds feels like an eternity.I'm now tempted to invest in the larger versions for larger applications. I feel this will become my main lighting system very soon!
I already own four 4ft Pavo tubes, which I use all the time, so it's no wonder that I love this light. It's so small that it easily fits in your camera bag giving you a fast option for light anywhere. The bi-color function is very accurate making it easy to match up with my existing lights. It's simple to dial in white light, a wide range of RGB colors and a ton of special effects including lighting and police lights. It's the perfect nook light, self contained, easy to mount almost anywhere. I have already used it behind products, inside a bass drum, in a file cabinet drawer, on a short boom for an outdoor interview. It even worked well illuminating the driver and passenger in a moving a car shot. The unit is self contained with its own internal battery making it easy to mount using anything with a 1/4-20 thread, sash cord or gaffer tape and it has built in magnets that will secure it to any metal surface or to the supplied metal tabs that you can tape anywhere. You can run the 6C using internal power or for longer setups with the USB connection to use AC or a small external battery. I can't imagine not taking this light on every shoot.
The firmware they ship it with doesn't support BT, false advertising and a huge letdown. No problem after spending an hour I see they have new firmware that adds it. Great, plug it into the computer, wait it doesn't work that way. You need a USB-C memory stick. Not happy I spend another $20 on one, get it only to find out the Nanu only works with CERTAIN memory sticks, so now I am out another $20 just trying to get the BT features that should have already been on the light. Now I spend another $12 on one, waiting to get it in hopes that MAYBE someday my new Bluetooth light can get the firmware updated and finally get the features that I bought the light for. But I will eventually get it doing something and will absolutely never buy another Nanette product again and would reccomend avoiding them. You can't advertise BT and then say...but wait you need to buy something else first. Wrote them only to get a response that said call the US distributor. Nanlite is not ready or primetime here, I should have just ordered another no name light from Alibaba.
I bought the 2' Nanlite Tube and was amazed by it. I wanted to get another one and saw this light for under $100 so made the purchase. It's a great light and throws a good amount of light for its size. I like to use the 2' tube light as my key and backlight with this 10" tube - makes a wonderful and easy setup that's perfect for travel gigs. The battery life is also pretty good. You can easily get a good interview or two out of it without needing to use a stinger. And for product shots it's excellent with the RGBWW - It's easy to operate when you need to hand it to a person that doesn't have any video experience. Great on run and gun jobs. Same applies for the 2' Tube Nanlite.Overall I would recommend. I also use this light for things outside of video production. ... MoreI bought the 2' Nanlite Tube and was amazed by it. It's brighter than you expect and is very soft where I don't need any more diffusion. Makes the travel bag lighter and easier to get the shots quickly.
The UI for each color present itself as 0 - 100%, which itself is not enough steps for smooth dimming. To make matters worse, 0% is off, while 1% is somewhere around 10 - 15% of actual brightness.Dimming is linear PWM, which makes the bottom of the curve very steppy while rising too fast.It is impossible to accurately maintain a color mix through the dimming range with resolution that is this limited.Fine for amateur use, or fixed (non-dynamic) use if the desired color happens to work at the desired brightness. Not suitable for use alongside professional fixtures. That said, it is 100% worth the money, as long as you know what you are getting. Since I only bought one unit for testing, I have not compared color between multiple units side by side. (I suspect there will be considerable variation, but that's only conjecture.)
I got this as a gift for someone and it is a great little light. The update was rather easy and learning how to use it, at least for me who has no experience with this stuff. It gets nice and bright and also can be used for multiple things such as photography down to a light in your background or outdoors little light. I can't say for certain too much but a few things I will say is I wish it turned on a little faster. I have to hold the power button until the logo fully appears then wait a bit and then it turns on. Also at the time of writing this review, the app is only for iOS and not android so I need to wait to try that out.
I have attempted to use these lights a few times since I got them for small color fills on location shoots. The battery life is almost non-existent. Fully charged them, took them to a shoot, turned them on...maybe lasted 30 minutes. Both lights. Next shoot, fully charged them both night before the shoot. Both lights dead within 2 minutes of turning them on. If it was one light, I'd maybe think it was a fluke. But both lights have the same issues, so I'm assuming it's a design defect. I'm going to see about returning them, as they are basically unusable.
