This is a great price for a high end foundation to the quantity you get. I am not a fan of the squeeze tube container. If you get too much foundation you cannot put it back in the tube. I have dehydrated oily mature skin with hyperpigmentation and sun spots. This foundation has great pigmentation and I was able to get to full coverage with 4 squeezes which is nothing compared to other foundations. I love the light texture on the face and there is no scent. It applies beautifully with a brush and starts to dry down so minimal powder needed. This is a soft matte that does not make the skin dry but a very comfortable feel. It looked great over my enlarged pores. But this does not go the distance on my skin. A lot of effort

I bought this as a ‘special occasion foundation’ after some research.It’s very high coverage (you can do without concealer and powder with this foundation) and dries almost instantly so you need to work quickly and in small areas across your face to get an even look. It looks beautiful once on, but I’ve found that about 7 times out of 10 it gets patchy and dry around my chin area after a few hours.I’ve played around with different primers, and always put it on moisturised skin but it’s a struggle to make it stay put. I’ll keep trying as the colour match is great and it’s perfect for oily skin, only needing a powder touch up on my t-zone after about 4 hours. Very drying, brings out all my pores and lines which aren't even there. I was really disappointed and it's annoying there's such a marketing drive on such an inferior product, since I'll now have to bin it to make sure I don't wear it. Maybe fillers or the new foundation, don't know, but I was disappointed by this as I expected a full coverage SPF free version of their hugely popular tinted moisturiser/BB which is more like a foundation. I tried it with primers and all powder techniques and all full power moisturising, I can just make it pass but it's not reliable enough and it's too much of a headache.

I have worn blush by NARS for years but never tried the foundation until MAC altered their Studio Fix Fluid. I have super oily skin and so far, I am loving the NARS Soft Matte Foundation. I was NC 38 in the original MAC Studio Fix Fluid, and, in the NARS Soft Matte, I am in the shade Valencia. This foundation is also two dollars cheaper, and you get more product. I am also used to having a pump on my foundation, but this squeezable bottle is convenient as well. My only suggestion would be to add additional shades, such as in between shades to give a wider selection. However, in doing so, do not alter the product itself of the color of the current foundations. I do not want to hassle of getting rematched again. It took me a few times to decide if I actually like this foundation. At first, it went on super cakey and throughout the next 8-10 hours became very separated and dry looking. For reference, I have normal skin that is breakout prone and gets shiny after a few hours after morning skincare. I think the best way I've used this thus far, that's pretty much changed my initial, not so wowed experience was application technique. Using a brush made this very heavy and cakey looking- so I wouldn't suggest using a brush because it does have such high coverage. When I applied like this the few times I'd used it initially, I broke out a bit almost every time. I think it was signaling I was definitely using too much. Now here's what's worked for me: Make sure to give this a big SHAKE before applying just a drop or two to a damp beauty blender and apply at center of face moving outward, in a dabbing motion. It dries quite quickly, so move fast. Add a bit more where you want more coverage and continue to blend out quickly. What I love most is that it looks skin-like if you apply it right and does not require setting powder to stay matte for hours, which all of my other liquid foundations do. Overall, I love it and will continue to use it. Oh, and the size is huge- I feel like it's going to last me at least a year or two with how little needs to be used each time.

Only works for a warm dry climate, not humidity.

I recently realized I needed something a little more matte for the warmer more humid months so I decided to try this one. Absolute fail for a humid climate. I actually wore this on a trip to Asia recently because I got a sample and it worked perfectly fine there. This doesn’t work for that and when it starts acting weird there’s nothing you can do to save it, no amount of blotting power or reapplying setting spray will fix it.

The best ever

I have combination skin and a bit of hyperpigmentation, so wanted a product that would give good coverage without feeling cakey or heavy: this foundation ticks all those boxes! It’s the most comfortable matte foundation I’ve ever worn. The formula is so lightweight and buildable. Once set, it has more of a satin than matte finish and wears perfectly throughout the day. I’m fair with cool undertone and made the mistake of purchasing Oslo which is really too light for me, so tend to mix this with a slightly deeper skin tint to warm it up slightly. I’ve since purchased Yukon which is a better match. Also love the squeezy bottle and the fact it’s 45ml when most foundations are 30ml. It lasts ages! I really can’t say enough good things about it.
