I purchased this mountaineering sleeping pad for my winter camping adventures. (Winter camping -wife thinks I am crazy… LOL) Anyways, this sleeping pad is well made and well insulated. I slept plenty warm on it and did not experience any cold drafts seeping from the pad. Slept in a winter tent with a negative -40 degree bag at 10, 275 feet and the coldest nighttime temperature was 5 degrees. (I would have felt comfortable in a 0 degree bag with this setup.) Bottom line is, I highly recommend this sleep pad! Good job Nemo, as always!

I have been through three winters with the Tensor Alpine and have well over a hundred nights on it on frozen ground and snow. Quiet, stable, had to get used to being so far off the ground. Was skeptical of thermo-reflective technology but the Tensor is toasty in the twenties, comfortable through the teens, almost comfortable but doable in the single digits, and with a thin foam pad beneath the Tensor I slumbered through subzero nights. Also skeptical of inflation sacs but quick and easy with a little practice. Without filler, deflates crepe-thin and rolls to the size of a liter bottle. No leaks or punctures and both I and the alpine environment are hard on gear. Suspect reported leaks due to incomplete valve seal; again, a little practice. I have purchased two of these pads now, and unfortunately tore or punctured both after the first use. First pad slid on a footprint liner and was poked by a twig in the ground, the other torn while I was trying to remove the valve to deflate the pad. I want to love this product; it’s light weight, comfortable, and keeps you plenty warm. Hard to justify purchasing another after having spent a pretty penny on only two nights of sleep. May have been some user error in these instances, but a bit frustrating how delicate the product is.

I purchased this because my old sleeping pad finally decided it no longer wanted to hold air through the night. Replaced it with the Tensor Alpine. I took it on a hunt in Arizona and slept on it for 8 nights and couldn’t t be more please. Lowest night time temp was 26° And along with my Nemo Disco 15 bag, this is a wonderful system! Fits nicely into a medium to larger pack. I would recommend this pad to anyone. Comfortable, nice R factor, and not to noisy. Thanks Moosejaw
I initially thought I would use this exclusively for advanced base camp and beyond as its light weight and small packing size was perfect for heading up into higher elevations. I quickly found out that its small size did not sacrifice comfort. I ended up using this pad the entire time I was at basecamp as well. Unlike some pads it does not have the normal crinkly noise when moving around. It also is one of the warmest pads I have used. When we were camped at advanced base camp on the glacier It provided ample insulation from the ice. Great product.
Took this pad into the Grand Teton backcountry and snow camped for three nights at 9-10k ft. Paired with a 20 degree down mummy bag and a single walled mountaineering tent. I didn’t notice any significant ground conduction, and although I had to supplement my top cover with down jackets one night when it dropped to 10 deg, that was expected for only bringing a 20 deg bag. Happy with the thickness, ability to side sleep comfortably, and weight. Don’t have enough experience with the pad yet to comment on durability.
I was able to lay on my side without my hip touching the ground, but for whatever reason this sleeping pad was not as comfortable as I thought. I convinced my buddy to buy one also, and his popped on the first night. We patched it, and then it popped again on the second night and we patched it again. Mine didn't pop, but I kept tossing and turning throughout the whole night, both nights, despite having this and a Nemo inflatable pillow (the pillow was a whole different negative experience - every time I woke up the pillow had somehow slipped out). I also had a Riff 15 Long, and after just two nights feathers were coming out in various places... overall, I am disappointed in Nemo. I put a lot of faith into the brand when I spent as much money as I did on all these ... MoreI was able to lay on my side without my hip touching the ground, but for whatever reason this sleeping pad was not as comfortable as I thought. I wanted a pad I can side sleep on, sometimes. And that wasn't huge in my pack. Wow, this works for me. I'm about 150lbs and I can side sleep without bottoming out. The filler bag thing works okay when you first try it and quite well once you figure out the rhythm for it. When above 10,000' it is also nice to not be feeling the elevation while blowing up your pad. In my Big Agnes Copper Spur the pad can slide a bit. In my old North Face mountaineering tent it stays put. Also the included patch kit is nice to have, but I have yet to need it.
As a backpacker who aims to spend between 60-100 nights a year in the backcountry, sleep is absolutely critical. I have really struggled with finding a pad combination that works well as I am side sleeper and pretty restless. After purchasing and testing the Xtherm, BQ Q-Core Deluxe Insulated and others, this is the go to pad for me. After receiving it and inflating it for the initial 5 day inflation test, it passed - no leaks and kept air.Initial night was cold - around -12C overnight but I kept super warm. At first I was really skeptical about it working, but it kept me nice and comfortable all night that I ended up sleeping 13 hours with no cold spots.Pad was warm, really comfortable for side sleeping but the mummy style is a bit too narrow at the bottom if I ... MoreAs a backpacker who aims to spend between 60-100 nights a year in the backcountry, sleep is absolutely critical. I've been struggling with a sleeping pad decision. I know that sleeping in the wilderness isn't SUPPOSED to be glorious, but there had to be a better tradeoff than my previous options. I have a 2016 BA QCore that is quite comfortable. But it's 1 lb 12 oz. Ugh. So I swung too far in the other direction, and got the Therm a Rest NeoAir XLite, and my goldilocks self hardly got any rest in the Winds. Loved the 12 ounces, though. So I tried the Tensor Alpine, and found my juuuuust right solution. I get cold, so I needed insulation. And I can't - I just cannot - deal with the crinkle. With this pad, I shaved 12 ounces (I know it's listed at 1 lb 1 oz but mine seems to weight exactly 1 lb on two scales), I got a high R value, and I don't have to sleep on a bag of potato ... MoreI've been struggling with a sleeping pad decision. The baffle construction is more conducive to me staying on my mat; I felt like the XLite kept pushing me off. And I don't need the micro adjustment (I like a fully inflated pad) but it's handy. It took a couple of tries for me to learn how to work that without just deflating the whole thing, but you get the hang of it pretty easily. So far (only two nights in the Uintas on it), I'm really happy with this purchase.
