Neocell Super Collagen Peptides Powder 20g/serving 600g

I’ve never really tried collagen before, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I just mixed the correct amount of powder with hot water, stirred, and added liquid water enhancer to it, and I was able to drink it fine once it cooled, or with ice. I didn’t think it tasted amazing, but it wasn’t off putting at all. It was perfect in hot chocolate, but I don’t usually have that every day but if you were a tea/coffee drinker, it’d probably be great for you. I have waist length hair, which has always been very thick and healthy, so I didn’t really notice much of a change there. Maybe a little less breakage than normal. But my nails! Oh my goodness. If it did that much good for my nails, I’d imagine it had to do something for my hair, beside stronger, but I’m very pleased with this collagen.

So I could only give 3 stars because I feel like I need to review a little longer to give a better review. I will say I tried it first in my coffee and you can definitely taste it. 2 scoops in a cup of coffee is a lot! It made it too sweet. I then opted to put the scoops in my large water I carry around and I could not taste it in there. Only issue was some days I would drink all of it and others I wouldn’t so I wouldn’t get the 2 full scoops in. I also haven’t really noticed a difference. I started this product with some other vitamins so it’s hard to say what is doing what. But I do feel that my hair has grown even faster (see pic) and it feels fuller! I was sooo pleased to try this collagen!! I have almost religiously used Ancient Nutrition Collagen. I found Neocell's Collagen to be more affordable and more for your money! In comparison, Neocell uses type 1 3 hydrolyzed bovine (from the hide) collagen 20grams per 2 scoops vs Ancient uses collagen from bovine hide and bone, fish, and eggshell membrane. The downside to using several types or sources is that you get less of each and it is recommended to look for one with two types of collagen. Ancient Nutrition is approx 40$ for 22.5 2 scoop servings vs Neocell 28$ for 30 2 scoop servings. One benefit to Ancient Collagen is it includes 190mg of vitamin C and 2 Billion units of probiotics included which is nice but not necessary. I personally have decided to switch to Neocell. I had the same results with both, strong/ long hair and nails and less painful joints. My solution is any drink I use I heat it up first, mix in the collagen, then let it cool and it's mixed well!

I mix mine with my cold brew coffee everyday, I tried oat milk but I think that was too thick. I have to add my cold brew into the glass first then my collagen powder and last my creamer. If I do creamer then collagen powder it clumps. If I do collagen powder then cold brew and creamer it clumps. And I have to mix it with a spoon or it’ll clump up on my straw! It really doesn’t have a flavor to it so that’s a plus! I will definitely continue using it and would consider buying it.

My jar was covered in powder on the outside but was sealed when I removed the lid so it's definitely messy. I would prefer just taking a collagen in pill form if that's available. I couldn't find the scoop at first and assumed maybe mine was missing so I weighed out the powder per the serving on the label. I eventually found it buried deep inside the powder. It doesn't say how long you need to take this in order to see results but one jar is 30 servings so you at least get a month to try it. I only drink smoothies once, maybe twice a week, but I always have some collagen powder on hand to throw in, and you really can't go wrong covering any flavor or consistency issues in a smoothie. When I got this free to review I really wanted to give it a chance and see if it actually dissolves into water, coffee, tea, etc, and if it actually works. on the first day I tried it in water, just plain room temperature water, and after maybe 2 minutes of stirring and getting the clumps off my spoon, it finally dissolved. It slightly changed the flavor of my tea, so that was out as well, I enjoy flavored tea and I spend money on it, so I'd rather not ruin it with that stale taste. Basically I end up adding it to my smoothies like every other powder. One way I found that I don't notice the powder is if I add fresh citrus to plain water. I'm just lazy, so this really didn't come off as anything special, and I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase.

I tried this with water and my water was kind of thick and had an odd flavor (even though the product claims to be unflavored). I drank it really fast due to my disdain of the flavor and thickness, and quickly regretted that decision. On my second go, I put it in my tea. The tea tasted exactly how it usually does and the thickness wasn't an issue. On my third go, I put it in orange juice and found my winner. The color is very off putting and you can taste something. I’m not saying it has a strong flavor at all but you can tell there’s something in your water.
