This doesn't have a lot of give to it. My dog Sally likes to be able to squish balls before she hurls them at my feet for me to throw again so she wasn't a huge fan of this ball. It bounces pretty well. It's very hard and I don't think any dog could chew the little spikes off if that's what your dog likes to do.

Don't waste your money! My GSD loved it and played with it a whole day... the next morning it no longer flashed and she managed to puncture it! She's still playing with it but for it to break after just one day and for the price...its just not good enough. It may be ok for a smaller dog...but certainly no good for a German Shepherd. Dissapointing!

This ball would be great if your dog is not a power chewer. Unfortunately, my dog is a big power chewer. She had the ball split in half/ripped to pieces in less than five minutes. However, If you have a normal dog, I think this would be great. It was very sturdy & I think it would have held up well under normal circumstances. My dog LOVED the little “spikes” that covered the ball, too.

Chloe had destroyed this ball in 10 minutes. Not only do the colors separate, but she chewed it into pieces small enough that she ate them with ease. Usually, she just tears to pieces and doesn't eat them. There must be something tempting in smell or taste.
My medium-sized dog chewed through the outer covering of this ball after total interaction of about fifteen minutes. The spikes give a dog something to get a bite on and make it easier to break off pieces. I was fooled by the representation of the ball as tough but should have known that Nerf brand products are rather light-duty. If your dog is a “power chewer,” don’t bother with this toy. If your dog likes to fetch but is fairly gentle with toys as far as trying to destroy them, this ball will probably be fine.Not sure about the hard spikes though. If you toss this ball and your dog gets in front of it, getting hit with this thing would likely hurt. My dog does like to get in front of thrown balls to catch them in his mouth.
My 6 month old pug puppy loves all things b-a-l-l-. Any b-a-l-l-. I spend my life with one hand free to throw b-a-l-l-. He is terrified of this b-a-l-l-. So it's a big no for us.
I got this for my pup along with 3 other toys giving all at the same time. This is not his favorite but he does play with it and hasn’t damaged it but it could also be because he hasn’t chewed it as much as his favorite toy. either way it’s a win for me
This ball is aces in my book! I got this for my 4 year old labrador who chews the stuffing out of every toy we've bought her and ripped through the plastic on others. She's definitely a power chewer but I think the ridges on the ball deter her from getting to crazy with it. Definitely recommend this ball!
I have a Pit mix and chew toys don’t last that long with him. Thought this one would, however he destroyed it in under 48 hours. Then started ripping it apart and tried eating the pieces. Had to take it away from him for his own safety. Will not be buying this toy again for my dog.
I received this ball on Saturday and it was destroyed by Monday. The orange sections are only lightly by glue. My dog loves to chew on balls. I ordered it because it looked like it was put together well but it didn’t last 3 days. It’s advertised as a ball that can be chewed on and help teeth and gums. She had destroyed other balls in a few days but never this quickly. I am moving away from Nerf all together as I have another that she destroyed the squeaker plug in a week but in that case I just removed the squeaker and the ball is good to go.
