First of all, can we talk about how cute the packaging is of this coffee? I love the gold color on this packaging. This is the second time I tried instant coffee from the Nescafe company and I’m glad to say I’ve enjoyed their products over the years. I recently received this as a gift from my grandmother. It is super rich in taste. Whenever I make this coffee, I feel like I am sipping one of those coffees from a NYC coffee corner! I recommend this coffee company and everyone should make this a staple in the house or in their coffee station at least! Want to go decaf? Nescafé has pretty decent decaffeinated options as well for our decaf drinkers. Be sure to look out for green colored labels on their items!

My wife and I have enjoyed Gold Blend for as long as we can remember. Each morning we take it in turn to make the delicious first cup of the day to drink in bed before we get up. We even take a small jar on holidays as it is a great start to the day.How have you managed to destroy an iconic brand ? It now tastes awful - no longer smooth but bitter, and there is a peculiar sludge in the bottom of the finished cup. One of the joys of instant coffee is that it is smooth all the way to the bottom of the cup so you dont have to leave a few mm at the bottom to avoid the nasty brown sludge. The new formulation should never have been offered under the brand name "Gold Blend" . It is totally misleading to loyal customers who have now purchased rubbish instead of the usual ... MoreMy wife and I have enjoyed Gold Blend for as long as we can remember. I will he honest, when it comes to coffee, I have a very high standard. My day is defined by my morning beverage. If my tongue is not happy, the rest of my day is an uphill struggle. I am from an Italian family, so when it comes to coffee I am surrounded by judges from Coffee's Got Talent. Italians love fresh coffee, my nana would have coffee beans ready to ground every day and the taste of fresh coffee is incomparable. Yet we lead busy lives, our mornings can be a rush and we need to get things done quickly. However I cannot sacrifice my morning coffee. When somebody suggested Nescafé Gold to me I was a bit skeptical at first, but when I tried my first cup, I had to do a double take to make sure someone wasnt playing a trick on me. I thought I was drinking freshly ground coffee! Nescafé Gold was rich, bold, creamy, smooth and had hints of chocolate liqueur. In other words, there magic in my mouth. I cannot recommend this coffee highly enough for all those that lead busy lives but also see coffee as essential to their day. As a judge on Coffee's Got Talent I am instantly pressing The Golden Buzzer on Nescafé Gold.

Goodbye 'gold blend', old friend.

I've drunk this product ever since it was released many decades ago. No longer. It used to be a pleasant drink, nice with milk and ok if the milk ran out. Now it is bitter with an unpleasant aftertaste. And what on earth is the residue left over in the cup? That is ok in a coffee shop, but in an instant coffee?I'm pleased you look after your farmers, that you are environmentally friendly, that you grind it 10 times finer (i.e. the previous version did not need grinding to dust?).Having looked at the web, I see this is an international problem. One Australian site had 20 approving and 180 disproving. Can you people not take the hint?Thankfully, this has forced me to look at competitors' products (with the justification for inaction being it's not broken so ... MoreI've drunk this product ever since it was released many decades ago. I normally prefer the good strong brewed espresso coffee which I always have to search for in new places, but usually it’s by very serious coffee places that I find “the taste”. I try various capsules at home as well, but end up happily getting my Nescafé Gold in the end. The others are so bitter or flat, For my taste, and are horrible as soon as the coffee gets colder. Gold is actually the only coffee I can drink cold. Always had good memories of Nescafé instant from camping trips and similar. Was very happy when I finally tried it out at home, it really is that good! Even better than I remember - heard the recipe changed, which I can imagine is hurtful for the ones that are used to the same taste for years, but believe there’s a reason for it and that after a ... MoreI normally prefer the good strong brewed espresso coffee which I always have to search for in new places, but usually it’s by very serious coffee places that I find “the taste”. Nescafe - helping mums be function since 1965.....

As a mum of 3 and a loving wife I cannot rate Gold Blend highly enough. Sitting and enjoying a cup of coffee whilst its still actually hot is a pleasure I had very much missed. As a busy mum of three (aged 17, 14 and 8) I am constantly on the run, add to that a husband who works long shifts, 3 terriers who all need a separate walk because they were inherently made by the devil, 2 lizards and a reclusive neighbour.....sometimes sitting and having a good coffee is a simple pleasure and Gold Blend fits the bill nicely.A smooth, rich coffee - its easy and quick to prepare but doesn't lack flavour or quality. Some coffees can be quite weak but you will never have that problem with Gold Blend. Some coffees can be quite weak but you will never have that problem with Gold Blend. Dissolves perfectly and doesnt leave those nasty shocking clumps floating in your cup which means you can enjoy every last drop. Add to that that it is a great price and you will have yourself a very satisfying moment and a great drink. Not only is it great served simply in a cup with a dash of milk and a simple sugar to enhance the smooth blend but it can also be made in a cafetiere and your experience can be prolonged. We have also used it for making tiramisu and found that it fits perfectly. Its an ideal stength coffee and didnt overpower the rest of the dessert so it has a multitude of uses - you wont be sorry if you decide to take the plunge. All in all a great product, I think every one deserves five minutes a day to themselves to sit and unwind with a hot drink and just watch the world pass them by......and Gold Blend will definitely help you do that

Ruined by recipe change

I have drunk and enjoyed "Gold Blend" for over 30 years.......not anymore ! The recipe change has destroyed this product and I can no longer drink it.It tastes like something is not right with the tap water. A foul, bitter aftertaste lingers in the mouth for ages and it doesn't even smell pleasant. It's so bad I'm now drinking supermarket home brands. It amazes me how someone in control can take it upon themselves to alter a product beyond recognition and still have the gall to use the original product name.....its no longer "Gold Blend", plain and simple. As the old saying goes "If it ain't broke then don't fix it" ....and you sure have broken this one !How you expect to change a recipe on a product that's been used and loved by many for generations and get ... MoreI have drunk and enjoyed "Gold Blend" for over 30 years.......not anymore ! I have had gold blend as my coffee of choice for the past 40 years. An “empire builder” at Nestle has decided to change the well loved formula and add micro ground elements of coffee for a real barista type experience! The result is an out and out disaster! The coffee is virtually undrinkable! If I forget and accidentally drink the disgusting - yes that is truly disgusting- sludge at the bottom it makes me feel sick!I have already narrowed down replacement coffees, however, when travelling I can’t always get an alternative.I would just like to congratulate whoever the naive “empire builder” was that made this decision.
