The Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ is a premium at-home espresso brewer with a small footprint and bold colors. I received the "Spicy Red" Vertuo Pop+ as a free sample in exchange for my honest review. Perhaps I'm just used to "coffee" and selecting the sizes of the brew, but this wasn't necessarily an enjoyable discomfort. Buying new pods was equally confusing and expensive. As for the actual beverages... I found the machine to be excessively loud while brewing (perhaps this is the "Centrifusion" technology) but it's much louder than I expected. I also didn't like the method of adjusting brew sizes - you can "hold" the button longer and then it remembers for future brews, but I would prefer an option of a small/medium/large option for each of the pods so it has 3 options of adjusting volume that can be selected based off each cup. I felt like I was afraid to try that feature because I worried I'd "mess it up" and be stuck like that. As for taste... I really enjoyed the "iced" coffee and would definitely be a repeat user there!

You only need to select your pod in term of coffee strength/roasting how large your cup of coffee your making, insert your pod and push the button and enjoy! It doesn’t come with a milk frother so you need to get one if you love cappuccino/ latte like me. Now the things i didn’t much like about this model is that i find the way the machine open/close to insert the pods by pushing a lever need some effort make it less convenient in comparison with only pushing a button in the previous model I owned, the trey that hold the cup is really beautiful and kinda heavy chrome and can be adjusted for several levels however in my opinion it is not very sturdy it seems to get detach from its place way too easily than should be, with the slightest forward pull it will fall, makes me worried for little kids accidentally take it out/ fall on their feet it is pretty heavy metalic piece I would not recommend you leting a little kid near it for that reason. One thing as well I found this model to be a bit louder but it is not a deal breaker! Overall it is a magnificent home coffee machine with the most delicious coffee ever, the machine is smart convenient and absolutely easy to use and clean. I definitely recommend it.

I was on the fence on getting a Nespresso machine, but this little machine is packed with features and makes great tasting coffee / espressos. Everything about this machine is well designed, and well executed. From opening the box and getting the machine out has been redesigned and 1000% easier. Pop the top flaps up, and instead of reaching deep inside the box and trying to alligator your hands down in the box to pull out the machine, instead the box has a living hinge to just bend it down and the side flops over to have easy access to get the machine out.The machine itself is very compact for what it does, and sits on the corner of my desk at work without taking up a ton of real estate. Cleaning cycle, warming up, brewing coffee, etc!I would highly recommend the unit, my only complaint is that the pods are fairly pricey but I'm sure like anything as they get more popular they will become less costly. It makes great coffee and there are so many amazing options out there from Iced Coffee to Double Espressos and anything in between. It makes different sizes depending on the pod you purchase. I just made an espressos shot and added it to my work coffee drip maker from the 1980's. What an improvement some good espressos can do!

It fits so perfectly on my counter and it looks so up to date. Absolutely love that the water tank can be pulled off for refill unlike other machines ive had in the past that would require to have to refill a cup with water and pour until filled. Its a genius idea although there are two issues i did come across that could use a better upgrade next time. The app works quickly and there is a great amount of selections to choose from including flavors and pods with lesser or more cofee strengths. You can see how much each pod is sold for and they are a bit pricey but the coffee is definitely of excellent quality so i will give it that but it is a bit deceiving because the app makes it look like you can individually pick and choose the quantity and flavors you want but the minimum is ten of one flavor. I definitely would love to mix and match based on how many i get however they do have variety coffee sets. The machine is a bit loud when making my expresso shot but i have worked in coffee shops before with high quality machines and let me just say this was expected especially with it being an expresso machine. I do wish it had a milk brother built in but i did see that you can purchase on from the company website. The time it takes to heat up is something i definitely like alot the coffee or expresso shots come out very quickly and when your done with a pod the moment you unlock and lift the lid back up it dispenses the empty pod into a built in trash compartment on the side that can be either pulled to open or entirely pulled out. I love that feature about it!
I got this coffee maker for my office because of its compact size, and ease of use. It is very small and takes up very little counter space. It only has one button on it, which makes it super simple. The design is very sleek and the way capsules pop in and automatically eject into a wastebasket is very cool. There is nearly zero cleanup needed and the water reservoir is extremely easy to remove from the back and fill with water. Because of that, ... MoreI got this coffee maker for my office because of its compact size, and ease of use. It is very small and takes up very little counter space. It only has one button on it, which makes it super simple. The design is very sleek and the way capsules pop in and automatically eject into a wastebasket is very cool. There is nearly zero cleanup needed and the water reservoir is extremely easy to remove from the back and fill with water. The size of the coffee it makes, the pressure it uses and everything else is pre-determined by the capsules you purchase. Because of that, you can't just tell it to pour a double shot. This is usually a good thing as it's calibrated to make the best possible coffee with the capsule you got, and you can't mess it up, however it is limiting. One impressive thing is it takes about 20 seconds to 'warm up' in the morning, which is incredibly fast compared to other more traditional espresso machines I've used or drip coffee. It is 'noisy' when it's pouring the coffee, but isn't any louder than other espresso machines while pumping water. It comes with an app and can be WIFI connected (not required). I did try out the app and realized it was mostly to get you to register your device. The app doesn't control the device, you can't set timers or automation or anything, however it has sent me notifications that the lid wasn't fully closed. The app also has instructions on how to clean the machine and such which is nice.Overall it's a great coffee maker, it does make great tasting coffee and as long as you're willing to buy their specific barcoded capsules it's a perfect option for a small area. I will likely stick with a more traditional espresso machine at home for the main kitchen as I like to experiment a little more with my coffee and prefer to buy unique bags of coffee beans over capsules, but I have found myself using it on the go just because of how quickly it makes coffee when I'm running behind and how easy it is to clean up.
Love their coffee, but I’m just not pleased with their line of Vertuo coffee makers. I’ve had problems now with 3 out of 4 units I’ve purchased. We were gifted with an old Gran Maestria by our daughter in law for our beach condo in NC since her father had purchased her a new Creatista machine. We loved the coffee so much we decided to purchase one of their machines for our home in Michigan. I liked the idea of the Vertuo system so I purchased a Vertuo Plus that I returned to Target because it would not get the coffee hot. Having been burned by the Plus I decided the get a Vertuo Next and it worked good for around 1 1/2 years before it started showing a need to descale (orange light blinks twice). Well I’ve descaled it now twice and ran through a cleaning cycle twice (once on my own and once with a Nespresso service technician on a video call) and am able to get a few cups of coffee out of it before the problem returns the next day. The only thing different the technician had me do is to run the water tank dry and stick a paper clip in the hole in the cover. We will see if it works tomorrow morning, but I’m not holding out any hope. I also purchased an identical unit for my daughter last year after she loved the coffee from ours. It lasted less than a year and had the same problem as our unit. Same error codes in spite of multiple descaling attempts. I tossed the unit in the garbage and purchased her a new one, of course this was all before our unit developed the same issues otherwise I’d have purchased her something different. Not sure what I’ll do once my machine quits worrying again. I love the coffee, but their machines are very poor quality. Perhaps I’ll look into another original line machine like I have in NC or find someone else’s coffee I like with better equipment. The only reason I’m not giving them a one rating is because my old unit (sans the troublesome technology) works great.

Another fantastic innovative feature is that when you open the lid on the machine after brewing has completed it automatically picks up and removes the empty capsule into a hidden separate chamber that you can access from the outside side of the machine to empty when full, this is great and eliminates the hassle of having to take out empty hot capsules after each brew cycle. Also, the water tank is easy to remove and fill, it is not heavy and bulky. Excellent quality machine that brews my perfect pick me up cup of espresso, double espresso, coffee or even carafe sized (18 oz.). I highly recommend this product, it’s a must have for espresso and coffee connoisseurs!
This was not our first Nespresso machine, we have a Creatista as well, but this Vertuo Next machine is my favorite of the two. Very cool! It heats up very quickly and the water temperature is always just right. The used capsule falls into a used capsule storage bin and that can hold 10 capsules before it needs to be emptied. You can make anything from a 1.35 ounce espresso to an 18 ounce pour over style carafe. I prefer the double espressos myself, but everything I have tried so far has been outstanding, some of the best coffee and espresso I have ever had. Each drink comes out with a beautiful layer of thick, foamy crema on top and tastes fantastic. This machine uses bluetooth and you can download their Nespresso app and connect your machine to it, this will keep you informed on the health of your machine, telling you when to run the cleaning cycle, and you can also purchase more capsules through it when you're running low. We have had nothing but good experiences with this machine. We absolutely love it!
First and foremost this machine connects to Bluetooth which I really can’t understand fully seeing as it’s really just connecting mostly to register the machines warranty since all the other functions that the application offers when it’s connected this way are able to be done without any connection to any other device and considering you need to be at the machine physically to place your cup and to place your pod so it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. It seems to be a pretty unnecessary feature if I’ll be honest. It takes forever to make a small cup full finally. Now onto the awful pod detection software…there is no override for pods punctured by the machine once that never got used due to system errors. All in all I bought a pack of ten pods and because my machine ran into errors about seven times upon first use despite following machine directions to a tee, I was forced to dispose of all of those pods because the machine won’t even allow a secondary use of any pod once punctured even if it was never officially used and only punctured and that’s not just a waste of my money but a waste of a pod! Out of all ten I was able to use only three and that amount of waste for me expressed to me clearly that this machine ultimately wasn’t for me personally. I enjoy the glass cup that came with the machine though.
