We brought a vacation home in a country side with limited internet service. Tried satellite internet and regular hotspot both did not work well. Finally, we brought the LM1200 with the same SIM card that was used on the old hotspot device. it speed up the hotspot internet speed from 0.8 mbps to 7.6 mbps. Now my kids can stream YouTube video in our vacation home, and cost much less than Satellite. Great choice!

Great for folks who use a hotspot device for main internet connection or who have better cell data than accessible wifi. I was using a hotspot dongle hooked up to a normal modem and mesh network for the longest time since I can't get wifi where I live. Literally transferred the sim card from the dongle to this modem and it worked immediately with the same network login - I'm also using my old mesh wifi system for max range. The device is really small and sleek and it's a much safer option than keeping the dongle on charge 24/7. Wish I knew about this modem sooner.

Purchased this to replace a 5 yr old Verizon MiFi modem and expected a significant performance increase. The cellular towers in the area were upgraded and my Pixel 3 hotspot could provide 80+ mbps download speeds. The LM1200 advertised 150 mbps* and never came close in actual real world use. Could not even match half the performance of the Pixel 3 without an external antenna. Adding a ~$100 external antenna brought speeds up to about 50 mbps. Tech support says the limitation is the LM1200 is only a CAT4 LTE device, “Pixel 3 is LTE-A (5CA) Cat16 1024/75 Mbps while LM1200 is LTE CAT 4 150/50Mbps”. Buyer beware this device supports limited LTE technology, thus it gets a 2 star “Fair” rating.

I really want to give this product 5 stars. If you live in an area with a strong signal this product will meet your needs. However if you need an antenna to boost your signal the firmware for this model has several bugs that prevents you from properly positioning your antenna for best performance. The values for RS-SINR and RAC are never updated and always report the value of 0. As you adjust the position of the antenna the values should change allowing you to find the optimal antenna position. The values for RSRP and RSRQ are properly updated. I have an open case with support, however I have seen very little process. Searching on google seems to show that this is a know bug. This issue also if found in the LB2120 LTE modem that I own. works good when connected directly to a PC or any other device that can benefit from an ethernet connection. Speed is not all that great. (about 25 mg/sec). Does not function well when attempting to connect to a home network or a wireless router. I attempted many different configurations through my Netgear wireless router and it kept dropping either the network connection or provider connection or both. Discussed with provider and they supplied a new SIM with data plan. Still did not work. Trying to get support from Netgear is dismal. I finally requested a shipping label and will be returning this device. The idea is great. It does work if all you need is a solo wired connection. Otherwise, I will just stick to my Jetpack.
Simple to set up. Provides sufficent speeds for video streaming. My new office does not have wifi where I can connect a FireTV or a personal laptop. The only other option was to hotspot a phone or iPad. But as soon as you stepped out of the room, the signal would drop and then when you came back in you would have to reconnect. Also hotspotting required the phone or iPad to be constantly plugged in. This unit doesn't have a battery so it behaves like a real modem. After putting your simcard in, power it up and connect a router to it just like setting up any broadband service.
Bought this to provide a back-up for when my regular broadband goes down (which it did for 10 days recently - thanks for nothing OpenReach!) Popped in a 1p SIM (uses the EE 4G network) connected it to the WAN2 port on my Unify Gateway (configured in "failover" mode) and job done. Works seamlessly with no interruption in service whatsoever. I look forward to day when I ditch my cable broadband completely and OpenReach can go and fxxxoff.
I live on an island with no cable and no Internet services other than wireless. My phone is fully capable of Internet and hotspot unlimited. But it would not talk to my solar panels envoy. This is an inexpensive unit and is perfect. It works beautifully. My solar panels are now back up to date and I can use it on my television as well. I love this an expensive 4g LTE modem.
I've had this for a few days and its configured for Verizon. It has poor signal reception. While my iPhone13, configured to use LTE only, gets 4 bars and speedtests at 30mb/sec, this LM200 gets poor reception and under 10mb/sec. I called Verizon and Netgear, which resulted in moving SIM cards around from my iPhone to the LM1200 to prove its not an SIM card/account issue. It's the LM1200.
NetGear Lm1200 received from Amazon, properly NetGear's model for HotSpot wireless modem 4G FTE. with documentation to login. Combined with T-Mobile SIM, and multi port standard switch and Rj45 cable, can provide Internet access for various devices PCs, Mobiles at location nearby T-Mobile 4G LTE tower. Match with my expectation, until today it is running in stable connection with average 4 bars signal displayed. Frans Canby, OR 97013.
