As I've gotten older I have realized how difficult it is to find facial products for oily, aging skin. I have struggled with large pores and oily skin since I was 11 years old, and my skin grabs and holds onto everything that touches it. Most moisturizers and sunscreens with result in major breakouts of painful cystic acne spots all over my face. If I use any products that contain any type of oil or other potentially comedogenic (pore clogging) ingredient, my skin suck it up into my pores and refuses to let go for a LONG time. For people with naturally oily skin, whenever the skin senses it lacks an appropriate amount of moisture, it automatically produces an excess amount of sebum in order to provide moisture to the skin. While it seems counter-productive to add moisturizer to already oily skin, the opposite is actual true. By thuroughly washing your face then applying the right type of intensely hydrating moisturizer like Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream with Hyaluronic Acid, it actually help to regulate the oiliness of skin by providing the moisture it needs, eliminating the skin's need to over-produce sebum to provide adequate hydration to the skin. Neutrogena has always made some of the best and affordable skin care products! But this one right here is in my opinion one of the best formulated moisturizers out in the market, PERIODD! The entire Hydro Line from neutrogena has some of the most amazing products but this one in particular just hits different. After 1 use of this product I felt seen the amazing benefits this gel cream has to offer. It actually made me excited to apply my tedious skin care routine. But knowing I just added this gel cream to my day regimen sparked joy I couldn’t get to my bathroom sink fast enough. Since using this moisturizer especially before make up application my skin has a natural glow within. I also have combo -oily skin and this product definitely helps with that. I have very dry skin especially during the fall and winter season. I have to constantly moisturize my face and body and it sometimes feel like a loosing battle. I and always eager to explore various products that claim to perform in different ways. My main dry spots on my face is my forehead, under eyes and my cheeks. This Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream with Hyaluronic Acid provides the extra moisture I depend on. When I apply this cream my face no longer feels uncomfortably tight. I first cleanse my face then apply the cream and it leaves me feeling plump and supple. It doesn’t have any smell, not sticky and most of all it doesn’t irritate my skin of my eyes. I have super dry skin 🏜 (you cannot imagine 😖), and I have to use products that my *skin* literally tells me are acceptable. I have no say in the matter 🤣.I am currently able to use Clinique's 3 step for very dry skin (1) using DDM Cream (not lotion). I also add hydrating serums (TO amino acids & multi-peptide) and Moisture Surge Intense (the old formula!! I stocked up when it was changed 😅).Why am I telling you all this? This is a DUPE for the original Moisture Surge (not the intense version). I can only use this in the late spring/summer months--which is when I used the original MS. I have sensitive combination skin with an oily t-zone and sometimes dry cheeks. If you get irritation with this product, try applying immediately after cleansing while your skin is still wet. This will prevent trans-epidermal water loss. Minimizing the amount of products you use on your skin will also help prevent irritation if you have very sensitive skin like mine. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that traps moisture so the more wet your skin is to begin with, the better this product will work. Hyaluronic acid can also pull moisture from the environment so you may find that it moisturizes better on more humid days compared to dry days. Refreshing

Found this product at last, at my local CVS. I've used the equivalent facial product, and wanted to again use this version for overall body use. BOTH products have a nice cool feel on my finger and produce that same sensation on skin. Both go on smoothly and easily. NO gumminess or "drag" as I apply it. A little goes a long way, so don't be put off by the size of the jar. Absorbs quickly, leaving skin feeling refreshed. This particular dry skin moisturizer is great on my very dry skin without the heaviness of ointments. Fragrance free, which is a plus. I highly recommend this product and the equivalent for facial application. Used CVS coupon and manufacturer coupon also, bringing the cost down considerably.
