The Hydro Boost Gel Cleanser Fragrance Free is a good face cleanser. It claims to remove makeup, dirt, ect. I tried it both ways and think that with makeup you definitely would need to double cleanse as it doesn't remove everything on the first go. First off, I really appreciate that this cleanser is fragrance free (didn’t notice any other scent either) because I personally find the original Hydro Boost scent to be too overwhelming. The consistency of this cleanser is a lot thinner than I expected. More viscous than water, but less than what I’d expect from a “gel” cleanser. This didn’t lather up unless I used a lot more water. After washing this off, my skin didn’t feel tight or stripped, but it did feel clean. It’s not harsh at all, and I think it works great as a daily cleanser. Overall, it’s a solid cleanser and I’d recommend trying it out.

For years I have struggled with large pores (especially around my nose), cystic acne (due to food and hormones) and pop-up pimples off and on. My skin is dry but sensitive to oil. I wanted to love this product, but so it’s a like for me. It does a good job of removing makeup and leaving your face clean. I do feel like you need to use quite a bit to do the job. It’s mostly unscented, but I would prefer a little bit of scent because it has like a faint public bathroom pink hand soap smell to me, which is no bueno. My main complaint though is the pump. Unless you pick it up and pump from one hand to another, it’s hard to get it to land right in your hand. I have it sitting on the counter, and if you try to pump it in your hand it doesn’t work very well. It needs to stick out a bit more to function better. I will continue to use the face wash because I do like it, but I will continue to be annoyed by the pump.
This cleanser is great in it's original formula. I've been using it since it was introduced. However, this fragrance free version is horrible. (1) It smells terrible! Somehow, removing the fragrance gave it an awful fragrance. (2) I felt like I could not rinse this off my face. Again, not a problem with the original version. I splashed my face again and again yet still felt a little icky. In the end, I had to wash my face again with something else in order to feel clean. I hope they are not changing or discontinuing the original version.
I have combination to oily skin and my skin really likes this gel cleanser. I tend to like gel cleansers for my skin type, my skin is also sensitive and I have mild rosacea and this is a perfect basic (in a good way) cleanser for my skin. It comes in a decent size for the price and is relatively affordable. I love the pump packaging and it contains hyaluronic acid like the rest of the hydro boost line. It doesn’t strip the skin and feels very nice while cleansing as well as after it’s washed off. I’d definitely repurchase this, it’s a great option for a basic cleanser that feels like it cleans your skin without completely stripping it.

Hydrating af. Great for winter. I felt a difference after one use! I bought this to use temporarily until my hylauronic acid cleanser from another brand came in the mail. I didn’t expect much, but this made my face feel hydrated and less tight after one use. It doesn’t remove makeup very well though, so I still had to use some micellar water to get my mascara and remnants of my foundation off, so I recommend you double cleanse with a makeup removing balm or face wash, then follow up with this. Other than that, this is awesome, affordable and fragrance free, so it’s great for sensitive skin. Going to continue using this!

I've tried many cleansers but this one is magic for my dry/combination skin. I broke out trying out a different cleanser (amino acid) and this is the only cleanser that dried out the break outs and moisturized my face that I didn't need to apply moisturizer. Not that I recommend it, I'm just saying that I went to bed after washing my face with this without a lotion the first time I tried. my face was already sensitive so I figured moisturizer will only make matters worse. Right the next day, the breakout cleared and my skin was back to normal. That's why I call this Neutrogena Hydo Boost gel cleanser (fragrance free) is MAGIC! If you must now, since the breakout, I tossed that amino acid cleanser in the trash and tried Cetaphil cleanser which did absolutely nothing.
