Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Fragrance Free Hand Cream 56 G

I've been using the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream since I was in high school - It's $3.99 and it's a product that I will probably use for the rest of my life! My favorite thing about it is that it's the ultimate multitasker - It can be used a hand cream AND it can be used on your lips AND elbows AND really any patches of dry skin, too! — If you're a minimalist: This could be the one product next to your bed to use on your lips / hands / elbows, etc. This is the type of hand cream that is perfect once you know when to use it and how much to apply... It's not the type of hand cream that you apply right before working on a computer or while reading a book. (It will be too messy if you do that.) This formula takes a decent amount of time to fully absorb, so I like to apply it right before I go to sleep at night and it's a perfect product when used like that! As far as how much to apply — A little goes a very long way... The amount I squeezed out to take this picture was too much for my hands and elbows so I applied the other half to my ankles. (If you see white streaks as you rub it in — You've applied too much!) I fell in lovey with the Fenty Hand Mask last year, but I still rotate the Neutrogena one in on a regular basis so it doesn't get jealous... we have a long history together!

Another long time user with noticing the changes

Another long time off %26 on again user here. I too have noticed the changes. First of all, there's nothing magical about this stuff, the primary ingredient is glycerin, found in most moisturizers. I'm guessing the "Norwegian formula" probably uses glycerin made from whale or seal fats or whatever. They didn't add a fragrance but something in it has smells like ink from a ballpoint pen. It didn't used to smell. It also didn't used to be so gooey and now it's pretty gooey. I think I'm going to go back to my other moisturizers made from plant based glycerin and primarily plant based ingredients. Is it as effective, no, but something off about this stuff now. I feel obliged to give this review with the hope that Neutrogena may take note and reinstate the hand cream I and so many other customers have relied on and enjoyed for so many years.The new cream does not sink in to the skin and does not moisturise. In fact my hands felt drier after applying it. Fortunately I had a tube of the old formula and was able to compare the two. The difference is remarkable and unmistakable.I cannot understand why a product which was so very good has been altered in this way. If the reason was to cut costs well I for one would be happy to pay a little more for the original. My initial reaction is that it is more of a gel than a cream. It comes out slowly, in a thin line and you have to squeeze the tube fairly hard to dispense. It’s says ‘a dab is enough’ but I personally needed a dab in the palm of my hand and then put a dab on the back of the same hand too.To spread it evenly all over both hands you have to be quite conscious of how you distribute it, simply rubbing your hands together meant lots of dry and untouched parts.Despite being a gel it doesn’t leave your hands greasy (unless you use too much).The application process is tricky to get right but I was impressed by how effective it was. Good stuff but not for me...

I really appreciated the concentrated formula and the inclusion of glycerin and vitamin E; I have to be honest, I noticed my skin, particularly around my cuticles, felt and looked better from the first use of the product. I found the formula soothing and would definitely reach for this in the event of winter or very dry hands.Unfortunately I didn't particularly like the texture of the formula - it's very thick and almost slightly waxy and, though I can see the benefits of this unique formulation, I didn't like how my hands felt for a substantial amount of time after using. It offers extreme moisture and does its job wonderfully. I have stopped using this on my hands, though, due to what I wrote above and my hands becoming sticky, and have resorted to applying a small dab of it to my lips daily to keep them moisturised. I think that tells you all you need to know.Thirdly, the old formula used to moisturize my hands for around a day but the new one?
