Texas-based sneaker blog Nice Kicks teamed up with New Balance in 2014 on this limited edition of the 1600 Grand Anse. The twist on the retro runner takes inspiration from the beach of the same name on the Caribbean island of Grenada where Nice Kicks founder Matt Halfhill once resided. Its mixed-blue mesh and nubuck is a nod to the water at Grand Anse while grey leather layers and a grey tongue symbolize the sea-washed gravel unique to the area. The layered upper is mounted on an Abzorb midsole in white with blue accents and a blue rubber outsole.
