The New Balance 550 “Multicolor” is a vibrant colorway of the retro basketball and lifestyle shoe that was released by New Balance in May 2021. The 550 returned in a monumental way when New York streetwear brand Aime Leon Dore reintroduced the model in vintage-inspired colorways as part of the brand’s 2020 collaborations with New Balance. On this just-as-nice general release, a vibrant multicolor block keeps the silhouette as fresh as ever. Smooth and dotted white leather appears on the upper, while a red leather “N” logo on either side contrasts the neutral-colored base. Gold “550” detailing can be found on the forefoot and gold “Nb” branding appears on the navy blue leather heel. Oak Leaf Green accenting highlights the look of the heel tab and inner lining. A colorful, retro basketball-inspired “New Balance” logo appears on the white nylon tongue. The cream-colored rubber midsole features “New Balance” and “Nb” detailing on the lateral side. Green, navy, and yellow blocks on the outsole complete the look. Release date: May 22, 2021.
