Needed a back-up shoe for an upcoming overseas trip, something neutral that didn't scream tennis shoe, and so far, pre-trip, I'm very pleased with the 574 Core. I usually
wear a 7.5 but ordered up to an 8, based on other reviews. With my medium-weight, cushioned quarter socks, sizing up was a good decision. I have high arches, and the
support feels adequate enough. Love the roomy toe box and grippy sole. Shoe feels sturdy but not heavy. Honestly, my only "complaint" to date is that I wish the white part of
the sole and the taupe part were reversed, so the white wasn't so close to the bottom of the shoe. It's already showing a lot of dirt after just a handful of wears.

These are, as described, a Lifestyle shoe. They are attractive and comfortable for that profile, which is what I was looking for. They work fine for a basic gym workout as well
as general walks, but of course can't be expected to perform as a serious athletic shoe. One thing I wasn't aware of -- there is a small paper tag enclosed with the shoes
stating that if they get wet, the color from the suede may bleed onto lighter parts of the shoe. Kind of wish I had known that up front, since I chose black, but so be it -- avoid

At first I wasn't thrilled with the laces, as it was kind of tight loosening them and tightening them again, but that friction has eased with use. Happy with my shoes.

I had been getting marks on my feet and complaining about pain from wearing ‘standard’ women’s width size 8 shoes. Since I upgraded to wide width 8.5 that I knew would have worked, as it did in the past- I was just stuck contemplating regarding the bigger investment as I only use to buy shoes $50 and under. However it’s been nearly a month now and although it kinda bugs me to keep up with appearances maintaining clean shoes, it doesn’t hurt me as much and the marks have been fading- and they feel so comfy. I don’t feel any circulation issues and resort to impromptu foot soaks and daily massages anymore. I’m definitely going to try to get other styles of this brand as backup. If you’re thinking about getting it, then do it as like me maybe it is better for you too. ... Absolutely love this shoe but only when I get a good pair. The sizing on this shoe is all over the place. Ordered in three diff colors, all size 8.5 and only non of them fit the same size as my other two original pairs. Black was too small and grey was too large...I mean, significantly enough that I could just not keep them. Super disappointing. I don't have time in my life to order a million pairs and return....New Balance needs to get it together with consistent sizing as I had the same issue with my two kids shoes I ordered as well. We will be loyal only if we can get shoes that fit! Also, this shoe insole needs some arch support please.

For years I had worn two other brands of athletic shoes. My husband always wore New Balance and swore they were the best. However our feet are shaped totally different - he is flat footed and I have a high arch so it didn’t make sense to me that we could wear the same shoe. Recently I purchased two pair of New Balance 574. Because I have a high arch I use Power Steps arch supports in the shoes. They are so comfortable! I have had two total hip replacements and as I result I was walking out of kilter. The New Balance shoes actually correct the way I walk. Also I really like the fact that they are roomy in the toe area. I am so happy that I tried them finally.

I wanted a pair of comfortable, stylish, retro tennis shoes that were a neutral color for traveling. These fit the bill! I will say they are on the large size. I normally wear a 8 in New Balance walking shoes and those were too big so I had to get a size 7.5. These might be a bit roomy too but I'd rather have a roomier shoe so I can wear thicker socks when needed. Also, one can always put in an insole to make the fit tighter. They keep my feet comfortable while looking stylish. I LOVE the gray color, looks great with almost everything! Size down, I should have listened to other reviewers or gotten 2 pairs at one time.

First, I never received an email telling me that my order was ready for pick up. My first clue was an email asking for a review of my purchase. Second, There was no apology when I mentioned this to the customer service rep. Third, we opened the box when we got home only to find that Nordstrom had substituted the shoe I had ordered for a different one. The one I ordered had bungee laces and they substituted a shoe with standard laces. This is going back on Sunday when we will be at the mall.

I missed in the description that this shoe runs small. I ordered my regular size in a the standard width. They’re very tight across the top of my foot. I have VERY narrow flat feet with no instep. I was surprised how tight they were. The toe box area was putting pressure on my toes. I tried stretching them a bit myself. That helped somewhat, but not enough. I’ve worn them around the house and then tried wearing them out. Still tight and toe box is cramped. The sole of the shoe was very comfortable and I love the look of these. Too late to send back. I just ordered a larger and wider pair. Fingers crossed!

I have shoes from other brands but, due to my outfits and reading about new balance I wanted a pair that was neutral colored that seemed to be comfortable. I purchased these shoes in store, they seemed comfortable and fit great. I learned a major lesson, before you bring just one pair of tennis shoes on a trip, test them out ALL day long. After one day of wearing them my heels were in so much pain. I ended up developing a huge blister and by the end of our trip I was limping just to not put pressure on my heels. I was with a group that included a 5 year old, 11 & 12 year old which those ages have no issue complaining if there feet hurt. So, it’s sad when you as the adult are ...
