New Balance 574 Tan Navy

(47 reviews)

The most New Balance shoe ever' says it all, right? No, actually. The 574 might be our unlikeliest icon. The 574 was built to be a reliable shoe that could do a lot of different things well rather than as a platform for revolutionary technology, or as a premium materials showcase. This unassuming, unpretentious versatility is exactly what launched the 574 into the ranks of all-time greats. As hybrid road/trail design built on a wider last than the previous generation's narrow racing silhouettes, the 574 offered a uniquely versatile mix of new, different, uncomplicated, rugged, durable, and comfortable that was adopted as a closet staple across the globe. That's why today, the 574 is synonymous with the boundary defying New Balance style, and worn by anyone.

A Classic

I love this shoe and it’s probably my 6th pair or 574s. I love the cushion and comfort. I love the classic look. If you have a slightly wider foot, this shoe does have a wider toe
box that the unisex (gender inclusive as they call it now to appease a certain crowd) shoe does not have. That model is more narrow and not a good fit for most men. I have
an average width foot but I enjoy the wiggle room. The color gray is spectacular and matches just about any outfit. The only improvement they could make on this model is a
little more arch support. I find this shoe has adequate support but would like just a little more arch support and a little more heel cushion. These do have a remo... Show more

I bought this for my husband. He has a hard time looking for comfortable sneakers. This is it, he only wishes that it has more cushion or a thicker sole. He prefers them wide
because he wears thick socks. I'd like to buy him other colors, but they're sold out. So I'll keep checking.

Great shoe, be aware of details

Firstly, I do not understand why New Balance refuses to give relevant details about the different styles of 574s. Since they won't, I will. This model is NUBUCK, not SUEDE,
despite what the product details say. I like that a lot, but it's something to be aware of. Also, it seems totally obvious to me now that I've seen the shoe, but the black
olive/mushroom colorway is a straight up brown shoe. Roughly chocolate brown. Again, seems obvious in the product images now, but when I was ordering, I thought the
color was far more gray/black than it is in real life. Also, I wear size 13 in most shoes, including other New Balance models, but 12s are just right for me in 574s.

Great shoe for flat feet
31 March 2022
The shoes fit well and offer great support without too much arch. Those of us with flat feet are often pained looking for shoes that don't feel like there are rocks jabbing you where most people have arches.Options are always limited and unfortunately New Balance is no exception. I had to stock watch for months waiting for wide sizes with a color scheme that didn't yell 80 year old man.... Show more

MENS SHOE
3 March 2023
Sure this shoe is great- but when I searched in women’s shoes and these came up I assumed that these were just that, women’s shoes. Although the search showed no indication these were men’s shoes the option to review now says (Men’s). Hoping they’ve corrected this error, but wish it would’ve been fixed earlier.... Show more

pretty cool

swaggy dad shoes no doubt, but somehow got a rip within the first couple weeks. the rip adds character so i'm not mad, but i'm hoping the shoe doesn't give out. so far it's hanging in though. would definitely recommend, but be warned when walking on smooth polished floors, i have nearly wiped out a couple times. other than that it was a great purchase.... Quality Dropped
21 August 2021
This is the third pair of a very similar shoe from New Balance. I loved the previous two, but it seemed that the quality has dropped significantly. The biggest thing that I hate is that on the inside in the achilles tendon area there seems to be a fake lether or plastic fabric used. Maybe this is good for stabelizing the heel, but it makes slipping my shoes on and off difficult and it rubs against my foot. The shoe doesn't seem as sturdy as my previous two similar versions. If I tried these on in the store, I wouldn't have purchased them.... Show more

Returned them as not what I expected from 574s.
18 November 2022
I have older pairs of 574 classics and loved them as they are some of my favorite most comfortable sneakers I have owned especially my old gold classic 574 that I got many complements on, I have looked for a new pair like them for a long time but have not found them yet. Thanks... Show more

Very comfortable
4 August 2018
I love the 574's from New Balance. They're my favorite sneaker. These grays are no different. I love the style and the color. It matches so much in my closet. They are so comfortable. I bought a half size up just to make sure. The price was below right, plus my membership reward coupon how could I resist. Buy them!!... Show more

Won't order online again
31 October 2021
I love these shoes the colors are popping. I gave 3 stars because when the shoes arrived it was clear one shoe had been tried on and had obvious creases in them already. The tissue was balled up and torn. It's like the person handling online returns didn't even open the box. If I'm paying $100 plus for a pair of shoes I don't want to see creases in them. However, when u called customer service they were extremely helpful they said I could return the shoes to any store but unfortunately they don't sell NB in stores.. yay me!... Show more
