The foam sole needs a firmer support layer (below the foam). The foam is so spongy that your foot can rock from side to side as you walk (not a matter of shoe fit). This could lead to injury or joint pain from improper alignment. The 2E version of the show tapers too much at the toe to be comfortable for those of us that require a wide toe-bed. The side of the shoe right below the ankle bone doesn’t come high enough to give proper support/stability.The tread of the shoe is similar to my previous 840v4 2E but thinner and softer. So the treads will wear out even faster than my old shoes.All-in-all the shoe isn’t all that bad for someone with a narrower toe but without a more durable tread and ergonomic support layer, I can’t say the shoe is going to work well.

So far pretty happy with the 860. Nice wide toe box, also very supportive, also very comfortable, and no issues with the heal or shortish tounge. My only gripe is the outer sole is not as durable as I was expecting, only 300 km and already show considerable wear. I normally change shoes out every 3-4 months not sure if these will last that long. Delivery from rebel was quick and no issues

This is a good option if you are looking at a stability option that is reasonably light weight. It has some bounce back and feels quick for a stability shoe. It has enough room for my feet, it looks and feels durable and resistant. This is my second pair and although I the V14 is already out, I intend to buy at least one additional pair of V13 to last until my race; that is a couple of months away.

My daughter uses these to run cross country because she doesn’t fit into actual XC shoes. She wears them all year long and I get her new ones each year. I was hesitant about these because of the light color and mesh knit and they are difficult to keep clean and show dirt easily. I even tried using a protective spray but the dirt just gets in the knit and is impossible to get out. I have been cleaning them once a week and I don’t think this color will last looking decent for a whole year.
This version of the shoe is great. The size and width are true. But to be fair, I have worn the 860 for my running forever. I am in my 60’s and so far injury free. I never change the type of shoe I run in. I never have to try them on. I just order them when I think I need a new pair for running. The old running pair is then used for walking and the walking pair goes to grass cutting.
I wanted to love these. My son says they are comfortable, but for a kid that plays rough, these need to be more durable. The front of the shoe has no reinforcement, so the mesh near the toes gets scuffed easily which makes them look like old shoes. Please add reinforcement (plastic coating) to the front to protect them for kids who play.
These are hands down the BEST pair of shoes I have ever owned! I have dwarfism and because of my dwarfism, I have little fat feet. I have tried every shoe brand & shoe style with no luck. As an adult I want shoes to look like adult shoes as best they can; I don’t want my shoes to have bows, Velcro or light up. I was suggested to take a look @ New Balance’s website & that is when came across New Balance Fresh Foam X 860v13! Not only was I shocked that they checked all my boxes when it comes to appearance but I was completely shocked with how comfortable they are feel. They are so lightweight that it barely feels like I’m wearing any shoes. I was so excited about these shoes that I logged back on to New Balance’s website & purchased the other color.
I purchased these shoes 1 month ago in the Moon dust with neon pink color. Great shoe with regards to comfort, stability, and cushion. My grandaughter has used them only to wear to school and PE classes. No extracirricular sports. There is now a dark grey/brown rim at the top of the white area, i.e., the silver blue color has gotten so dirty with casual wear. I have used detergent, preventive spray, nothing cleans this shoe. They look horrible. I obviously knew a lighter color would show the dirt faster, but I expected to be able to clean. So, out alot of money quickly and need to replace soon with darker color. Do not buy this color! And, there is no guidance on this website that I can find regarding cleaning.
These are okay. They feel quite heavy. So far, running is not very enjoyable in them. If you like a lot of support, the shoe is very cushioned. I had my foot measured by the guy at new balance and he gave me this size. I think I’m used to a tighter fit, so it feels way too roomy. But I’m also trying to trust the expert on the fit.
I love these shoes but have to give them a low rating due to quality issues. This is the second pair I’ve had and the soles on the first pair wore out really quickly. After 3 months both soles were badly worn and in less than 4 months there were holes in the soles. I thought it was a one off but after a month the new shoes soles are wearing badly already as well. They’re very comfortable and the rest of the shoe is great but the soles are too soft.
