The 990 V4 are second most comfortable walking shoes I have ever owned. The best were the 843 with the great arch support, that was discontinued. Also, I have to replace the insoles with Spencoe Arch Support Insoles. An insole like that in an 843 style would make the perfect shoe. The quality of the newest set of shoes seems to be a bit lower than in the past.

I bought two pairs of shoes. Received both in the mail and neither one of them came with shoe laces. Checked the shipping box, shoe boxes, inside the shoes, even tore apart the paper that’s stuffed inside to check. When i called support the only option i was given was to return the shoes and wait for a refund then re order them when all i needed was shoe laces. The shoes are great but pretty silly i had to go out and buy shoe laces. I also reached out via social media and got no response.

I’m walking around Pittsburgh on vacation wearing my new sneakers. They already have a slight rip on the side and after a few hours my feet are killing me. You don’t know if they’re comfortable until you wear them outside, thereby voiding the return policy. Don’t buy these sneakers, NOT worth the almost 200$
Package came the day posted, was in good condition no scuffs just a little front toe abrasion but I'll live. Shoe looks great on the feet and off. Comfortable and true to size. Remember if you have chuckle feet order wide if you feel you might need it. Overall great shoe I would say price should be 165 but who am I lol.
I just had ankle surgery from a motorcycle accident. My pt told me to get shoes that will support my foot better. These shoes help to manage the pain on my ankle and foot. I had some doubts, but when i wear my other shoes i feel the difference. I'm a teacher and coach. I'm able to make it threw the day with little to no pain. My other shoes will get me to lunch time.
I have been buying this model and its predecessors for at least 15 years. This one looks the same on the picture but the quality is lower. It seems like NB decided to lower the quality of the shoe instead of increasing the price. This will be the last time I bought this shoe. Very sad thing.
I was glad When I saw that they had brought back the 990V4, but I don't understand why they don't offer it in wide and extra wide anymore. I thought new balance had always been really good about offering extended widths, at least for their staple shoes. They are going to lose a large customer base as a result of cutting down on offering extended widths for various shoes and frequently making changes or "updates" to shoes that people have come to depend on. Also, I wish the product page for each shoe would show important information such as heel-to toe-offset, type of shoe last, level of cushioning, stack height at heel and forefoot, whether it's good for overpronators, underpronators, or if it's a neutral shoe. These are things that people with foot issues need to ... The customer service agents don't seem to have a lot of knowledge about shoes in general or about the shoes that they're selling.
The overall quality and use ability of v99 shoes has gone down over the last couple of years. I used to give it a 5 star rating. Also the number of colors and color of the sole edge and N logo in the newest version is too bright so I bought a previous version that had a toned down sole and logo.
I have been wearing a woman’s wide version of the sneaker for many years now. It has been my go to shoe and really the only one that works with my orthotics. Now they have discontinued women’s sizing and have changed to unisex with no wide option. I am so disappointed in the direction that new balance is taking. We no longer can get the custom color sneakers made and now apparently women’s shoes don’t even fit into the equation. In case New balance is not sure women’s feet are not the same as men’s feet. I don’t want to, but it looks like I’m going to have to find a new sneaker and it won’t be made in the United States, which is an extreme disappointment to me.
