(638 reviews)

The 1080 is the pinnacle offering from New Balance’s running lineup. A combination of top-of-the-line performance technology and wide-ranging accessibility offers runners at every level of intensity more comfort over more distance. Simply put, there isn’t another shoe quite like the 1080. The Fresh Foam X 1080v12 represents a consistent progression of the model’s signature qualities. The smooth transitions of the pinnacle underfoot cushioning experience are fine-tuned with updated midsole mapping, which applies more foam to wider areas of the midsole and increases flexibility at the narrower points. The ultra-modern outlook is also reflected in the 1080’s upper construction. The v12 offers a supportive, second-skin style fit with an engineered Hypoknitupper, for a more streamlined overall design.

I love Roadrunner! They always deliver fast. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because I have bought many pairs of shoes from them and although the order is
always right the fact is you can't try on the shoes first and all shoes aren't sized the same and you dont know how they will fit until you get them so you never know 100% if
they are the right size. I have bought 6 pairs of shoes fron Roadrunner and had to exchange 2 pairs by no fault of roadrunnershoes mind you, however, it is inconvenient to
have to exchange them. One more issue to consider is the color some shoes appear in a picture can look a little different than seeing them in person which has ... Show more

I've been running on 1080's for a while now. My last pair of 1080 v11's were starting to reach the end. I was curious about the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3's. I tried those.
After getting blisters, twice, from the Endorphins I returned them to Fleet Feet and bought the 1080 v12's. I have put down a few heavy runs this week with them. I bought the
v12's a week ago. I have already put 50 miles on them and they feel great, nice cushion, yet they can be responsive and allow me to pick up the pace if needed. On
Wednesday it rained on me during a 10 mile run. Within minutes I was soaked, the shoes were soaked. I finished the run. No blisters and the shoes were dry in-ti... Show more

Going from NB880 to NB1080V12, a wonderful move!

I've been using New Balance shoes from the V880 series for the last seven years. I've always liked the overall feel with enough cushioning in mostly training scenarios along
with some running. I've been running the 10K event at many Ottawa Race Weekends (ORW) with my NB V880s. The FreshFoam variants of the 880 series felt even better.I
needed to replace my older pair of 880s. I was aware of the 1080 and I felt it was time to give them a try in their V12 version after checking some reviews online. All I can say
is "what a step up", the feel is wonderful and the fit is great. The added cushioning is wonderful, allow for a soft landing, they make my running easier than my 8... Show more

Great Shoes! Highly Recommend.
20 December 2023
In my opinion these are seriously good shoes! I am 66 years old, make a point to walk 10,000+ steps daily, and these shoes are by far the most comfortable I have worn yet.
And I just literally wore down the tread on my previous 880 V12s, which I liked as well. These just seem to be that much more comfortable, still offering the same, great
support. I highly recommed, especially at the current sale price the Running Room is offering!

Needed a wider, soft shoe.
1 August 2022
I have a Morton's Neuroma in the right foot and any shoe with enough tightness in the mid or forefoot will cause pain and tingling. I usually wear Keens and recently have
been through 3-4 pairs of Speedgoat 4s from Hoka. The speedgoat 5 is tighter in the forefoot. I didn't like the placement of the arch in the Speedgoat 4 (it was too posterior)
but tolerable. So this time I looked for something new.The NB Fresh Foam is working out pretty good. The Speedgoats would be sized 2E (wide), but with the NBs I went with
regular D. I can't feel the arch, so it's either placed well or insignificant. In the store there was no tightness, but when I wore them for 30+ minutes I noticed som... Show more

Not the 1080 I loved
15 August 2022
I'm not a runner or professional athlete, but I know what works for me. I've been wearing New Balance shoes forever. Over the last 5-6 years the 1080's were the best for me.I
have a high instep and vey wide ball and wear a men's 10 4E with custom orthotics. I could always count on the 1080v5-v9 to fit. I didn't care for the recent high rubber pull or
"tongue" or whatever it's called, at the heal. So I avoided them and was able to find earlier models when I needed them.Unfortunately, I can no longer find them but they
added padding to that area with the V12, so I decided to try them.No local store, even the Factory stores, had them in my size. Reading about them online many ... Show more

Solid shoe!
8 November 2023
This is a follow up review. I bought these 1080 V12s in mid-July. I reached 500 miles on them yesterday. Even though they’re not my favorite rendition of the 1080 I still loves
them. They did great with short runs and even a couple of 20 mile runs in training for a marathon next week. They are perfect for a recovery day shoe. For the last month and
a half I’ve been using these in-between days when I use a much faster shoe. I love putting these on the day after a faster tempo day, or a hill day. After 500 miles the shoes
are in great shape. The harder plastic eyelets at the top have cracked and the laces snag on them when tying, just a small issue. Plenty of outer sole to go. Uppe... Show more

they were great - but fell apart 6 months later
14 November 2022
I use them for walking, and some light running. At first i thought the shoes were a huge improvement over the 1080v10 and 1080v11. The heel was supportive and I was
certain it would last longer than the v10 and v11. It felt like i was walking on water. 6 months later: the rubber sole has worn through significantly and the heel has completely
worn through with cracking of the plastic to boot. I still have the v10 and v11 and they are in better shape. This should not have happened to the v12. It turns out, that there's
a 6 month warranty policy that I was not aware of. Lucky for NB, I am 4 days past the 6 month mark and New Balance will not offer an exchange.

Very Good But Not Great
7 September 2022
I got the Fresh Foam X 1080v12 as a daily trainer but, to me, it's more of an easy or recovery day kind of shoe. I normally wear 8 and sometimes 8.5 so I ordered 8 EE and it
was way too big when I tried it on. So I returned it and ordered 7.5 EE and it's still on the roomy side. NB's idea of "wide" seems to differ from other brands' shoes. Normally,
the standard size works fine for me as my width is probably "medium", not "narrow" or "wide". Anyway, I've already put in 20 miles on 1080v12 so I'm keeping it but I've
decided that I will put it away for now and use it in the winter with thicker socks. The 1080v12 has good cushioning but isn't quite as soft as I expected, which isn't... Show more

Work shoes
5 November 2023
I bought these to replace my OnCloud monsters for work. They have more cushioning. Am on my feet twelve to fourteen hours a day. Would recommend these to anyone
standing all day at work. I wear an 8.5 and the 8.5 fits me perfect. My feet are not narrow, but are on the smaller side and these are pushing the width. May want to think
about getting a wider pair, if your feet are wide.
