Great soft max cushion running shoe
If you are looking for a great, soft, cushy running shoe, these are it. Accommodating upper, might be too roomy if you have very skinny feet/forefoot but fits mine just fine for normal width. True to size. You sink it some when walking or very very slow jog but it is not overly mushy where I'm fighting with the shoe to run when I go faster. The shape of midsole and outsole helps with keeping you moving for smooth transition. No hot spots or pinching in the upper, didn't experience any heel slipping with or without runners knot. And I was running through snow and rain afew times. Traction was good with wet surfaces for me. Sometimes I did have to retighten my shoe laces cuz they are thin and stretch some but not a big deal. It's very stable cuz you sit inside the midsole some and very wide base. I really enjoy them for walks(wore them for 8hrs for work-on my feet 80% of the time) and did medium distance runs. Will use once I start to ramp up for longer runs. Great purchase for me! I'm very happy with these!FYI I'm 39y/o at 6'2 195lb mid/forefoot runner... Show more

Just Like the V3s, But Lighter Upper
Same cushioning as the V3s, but slightly more bounce given the split heel and rocker effect. More breathable and lighter feeling upper. Very stable given the width and despite the stack height. This is my first wear review and used it on elliptical trainer and treadmill. They feel like pillows on the upper and a slightly bouncy but stable stack on the soles. Really great shock absorption. Also, less 'tanky' feeling than the V3s, but I did not kind that with the V3s, which had a much thicker tongue. I love both tongues, but really like the minimalism of the V4 tongue, which still provides ample cushioning from the laces.... Show more

Love ...except for the noise they make
Had a few major ankle surgeries after an accident. Lots of metal in my foot. Swelling, pain, could only walk for maybe 100 feet for almost 2 years now.Bought this shoe at a local store and the next day I walked slowly for 2 hours with a few breaks. As one can imagine, I tried a lot.... so far, this is the only shoe I can comfortably walk in with minimal pain. Will never be able to run again, so cannot comment on that.So I am happy! However, only 4 stars because the heel produces a clack-clack noise on hard surfaces that is VERY annoying! Did I get a faulty shoe? Something wrong with the sole?? I don't know. If my feet were normal like before the accident, I would have returned them. But I keep them, so I can continue walking. But the noise whith every step ... More V4 for casual wear
Hey guys, novel runner here, actually I'm probably more of a yogger. Anywho, I bought my NB MoreV4 after the shoe caught my eye with its ridiculous midsole. I love bold shoes and the red ones I have are most definitely bold. After trying every sort of Adidas Boost, even the yeezy 380 which is the closest to the squish factor I feel while wearing the New Balance. It has a rocking effect for a super smooth heel to toe transition. Also has more of a bounce back than boost. If you liked Boost back in the day then you will love the ginormous layer of Fresh Foam X. It is boost on steroids lol. So yeah, happy with my purchase!... Show more

New balance more v4
I do a lot of walking. Have plantar fasciitis. I like the heel feels more supported and when you walk it feels coddled and doesn't pound the pavement. I am normally a 10.5 4e. The 10.5 is too small for me so I had to go up to 11 4e both in the v3 and v4. I like the mesh toe box over the cotton feel of the v3 because when you walk thru grass it doesn't catch all the grass shards like in the v3. If I could make one recommendation is I prefer the v3 tongue better. I actually can turn the v3 into slip ons with runners lock and tighten when I run. But v4 the thin mesh tongue slides down and have to pull it up. The v3 tongue was fatter and cushier and didn't slide. I still wear both a lot. Rotating. But the v5 Next needs to be merged with both for the perfect shoe. But as ... MoreI do a lot of walking. Have plantar fasciitis. The v3 I felt more of the heel pound even with the cushion. Merge the v4 heel and toe box with the v3 tongue and you got a winner. But overall I like the v4 a lot.... Show more

Somewhat disappointed
NB fresh foam shoes were recommended by my foot and ankle surgeon due to a chronic issues that I have with feet. I have purchased different NB fresh foam models and have had excellent results. I deliberately ordered the shoes in a larger size and EXTRA WIDE. I have than found this model to be be MUCH narrower than my previously purchased NB shoes. In addition, the top of shoes rub on my large toes, causing red marks. Lastly, the shoes were stated to be "BLACK". The shoes received are not true black; they are actually a shade of dark silvery grey.... Show more

Sturdy injury free miles
I was not expecting this after the sink in feeling of the More V3. These shoes felt firmer with a soft landing. The separated heal did provide extra stability. I slightly land inside on the right foot and had trouble with the Fuel Cell foams because of it. It turned out that with the fresh foam X and the heal it was really supportive. The outsole is probably one of the best out there! It was like having claws on my feet. I felt less of the rocker midsole than the v3, but there was a very slight rocker that kept me going through my strides. I would recommend this shoe for easy recovery miles. For me it's a bit to heavy for uptempo work. Overall, it's a good update and I'll be putting a few hundred more miles in these over the next few months.... Show more

The perfect shoe ?... Not yet!
An excellent shoe ?... No yet... But finally New Balance has found the recipe for the midsole softness and comfort. Don't lose that softness and comfort, never go back New Balance! On the other hand, the trampoline effect below the heel is a disaster. It removes thickness from the sole and since the sole at the front is full, that no longer makes the shoe with a drop of 4mm, but a has we can say; a negative drop -1. In time we loose comfort . It would be necessary to eliminate this trampoline in the sole or make a drop of 6mm in the next linup. But keep that softness and comfort of the midsole, don't make the mistake to harden it like before. And you should offer that softness it on more models and also in a line of hiking and winter boots.... Show more

Unbelievable comfort
I tried these shoes because I have chronic plantar fasciitis and heel spurs on both feet. They are definitely the most comfortable shoes I have ever had in my entire life! I almost can't tell that I have heel spurs when wearing them. It is just fantastic. my wife doesn't care much for the looks, but they are beautiful to me. They are slightly large with all that foam and took me a little getting used to, but that didn't take long. I absolutely love these shoes and will buy more in the future. thank you so much New Balance! I highly recommend the shoes to anyone, especially someone who has terrible feet like mine!... Show more

Was More Than I Was Expecting to Get
I am in my 40's, overweight, and active, and my knees, achilles, and plantar fasciitis typically limits me. I wanted cushion and support. GOT IT! I ordered reg and the toe box was unusually tight for NB. Returned and went wide. A tad bit loose, but after a long trek or long day I have the space for my feet to swell up comfortably. My toes have the space I need with wide, but I typically wear reg in NB. The black is more of a dark grey which is what I was hoping for. These feel really good, great shoes for a teacher with creaky knees. Feel these are true to size, but a narrow toe box in Reg, Wide is very forgiving.... Show more
