I bought a number of these shorts years ago and they were pretty perfect. A few things I'm not crazy about, the drop pocket is not as secure as a zippered one. If it's a cost thing I'd much rather have that than the tunnel thing to store extra layers. I doubt I will ever use that as I don't take off my shirt while working out. Will likely return these and look for something else.

I have trouble finding running shorts that fit all my requirements: Fit well, lightweight, doesn’t restrict leg movement/affect gait, drys fast, and doesn’t chafe (specifically between the legs, on the back of the waistband, or from the built-in brief). This fit all my requirements. I love the bungee-style waist band too. My only complaint is that I wish the shorts had a zippered back pocket (vs the current sans-zippered back pocket). Other than that, these have become one of my favorite running shorts!

I absolutely love these shorts! I normally don't like loose shorts for running in the heat. They tend to bunch up and stick to your sweat causing chafing. Not these! They were so light and airy on my hot humid run this morning. I felt like I was wearing nothing! Definitely buying the other color and hope NB makes them in more colors! Only word of caution is that they run a little large. I usually have to size up with NB clothing but not with these.

I own these in 3 colours. They are the most comfortable running shorts I’ve ever had. I am petite but curvy. Finding bottoms is always a problem: the waist is saggy but the hips and thighs are too tight. The high cut sides leave plenty of space for your butt and thighs but the waist sits high enough that it feels secure and there is a tidy, discrete drawstring for a more customized fit. If they come out with new colours in spring, I will for sure be buying them as well.
I like these well enough, it not my favorite. They are longer length- which makes them my go to running shorts for when I won’t be able to change right away. The more modest length is easier to pull off at post run brunch with friends. The waist and fit is good and comfortable. I’m 5’11” so I’m tall… as a reference.

I normally don't review products, but when I tell my daughters and sisters about a purchase that I love, I thought maybe others would want to know too. I love these shorts! They fit nicely, and look nice too. But the BEST part is all the built-in storage these shorts have. I can take a walk or a run with my cell phone, car key, credit card, and cash hands free / no fanny pack. I have bought 3 pairs of these shorts in different colors and always pick to wear them when they are clean.

This is an update to my original review that had the headline: "Runs small!" After returning that pair that was way too small (Medium), I eventually bought and tried on the Large and Extra Large sizes. Turns out Extra Large was too big (returned those), and it was the Large size that fit me just right. So, even though Medium is what usually fits me when it comes to New Balance shorts and pants, I needed to go up a size with this particular short. Now that I've got the right size, I'm satisfied with this product. The material of the short is comfortable, and the Eclipse color goes well with pretty much all the New Balance tops and shoes I have. As a point of reference, I'm 6-feet tall, 190 pounds with a 33-inch waist.
These are the perfect running shorts for me in terms of material, inseam, waistband, and pockets. They're perfectly breathable with a great liner, and it's a super flexible and comfortable fit in my waist. I'm shaped like a tube, so shorts often cut into my waist if they fit my hips and thighs. Already have 8 pairs to round out my outfit rotation.
