Give them a second chance

To be honest, when I first put these on I thought they felt too bubbly. In fact, considered sending them back. I gave them a second chance and glad I did. After wearing for a 8 hr shift at the hospital, they started feel pretty good. Now I really like them and they feel very comfy! I got the wides. Now lets see how they last.

Great shoe for diabetics!

I have type II diabetes which causes extreme discomfort in my feet. I started a new job that requires a good bit of walking on hard surfaces so I tried out the New Balance Fresh Foam 680v8 shoes. They have made a world of difference! I'm feeling major reduction in foot pain. I would highly recommend them to anyone suffering with foot discomfort or neuropathy due to diabetes.

New favorite NB shoe. Excellent surprise.

So far so good! I was able to go down a half size due to the 4E width on this shoe. Usually wear 12.5 but since there are no half sizes on this one I went down to 12 and it fits perfect! Cushion is great and the shoe was broken in within 2-3 days of moderate use. My new go-to walking/running shoe. Grey color is basic and great. Clean.

Nice shoe but careful about your size
14 July 2024

I like the looks, weight and feel of this running shoe. I have an unusual size foot and like NB shoes because they carry extra wide shoes that fit me well. However, I ordered the size I normally do with all the NB shoes that fit me great. This show runs small in the width. It is tight on my foot where the cross training and 900 series shoes I can still get in extra wide are not tight. It is getting harder to buy NB shoes because they seem to be converting many of their styles to “gender neutral” all in ‘standard’ width. Well the entire country does not have standard width shoes. If they keep moving this way I will have to go elsewhere for my shoes because ‘standard width’ will not fit me.

Not practical for me. Best for casual wear
6 August 2024

I work in a warehouse, stand and walk on concrete all day long. These shoes ended up being too soft. I should’ve gone for a firmer shoe. I’m sure these would be considered comfortable due to the cushioning but they hurt my feet more. Doesn’t feel like I get much support. They look nice and they felt fine for the first minutes of wearing them but less than an hour in them I felt pain in my feet and ankles. These are probably best for short wears and casually walking. I wouldn’t run or work in them. They’re just too soft for me.

Poor quality shoe
12 July 2024

I have been buying New Balance sneakers for years as they have always been the best made on the market however, I cannot say that about the 680v8. The toe box is unusually narrow which is uncharacteristic for New Balance and the overall construction is flimsy. I only use these shoes to workout on a treadmill as they will not withstand any type of outdoor use. I am done with any New Balance products due to the fact that the last two pairs of sneakers hat I purchased were of inferior design and lasted only a few months.

Pretty nice
13 April 2024

Nice shoe; quality and design. I got the white at 4E. Only thing is that it doesnt feel like a true wide shoe to me. It's wide enough to where i can fit my feet, but it's quite snug; maybe it's the type of material, so hopefully i can "break it in" because I like it overall.

Provides Great Cushion for My Sore Heels!
19 September 2024

I'm really pleased with these shoes! I've been dealing with heel pain, but the Fresh Foam 680v8 offers just the right amount of cushioning to keep me comfortable and pain-free during my walks. I also appreciate how lightweight they are! Overall, I’m very satisfied with their performance for both walking and running!

not great

for what i paid (around $90), these shoes feel extremely cheap and the foam midsole does not have enough support, they are so squishy and soft that after a while kind of feel like you are walking through quicksand. they are comfortable enough in short stints, but i hate actually walking around in these. they've been relegated to office duty, and even then, taking a long walk at lunch doesn't feel great. i previously had a different pair of fresh foam NB's that I loved, and I thought I was replacing those with these, but i realized after buying these that they were actually fresh foam X, and this regular fresh foam is just soft and not responsive or supportive. i have been walking 30-50 miles per week every week for the last 5 years or so and i'm a bigger guy, so i ... Morefor what i paid (around $90), these shoes feel extremely cheap and the foam midsole does not have enough support, they are so squishy and soft that after a while kind of feel like you are walking through quicksand. they are comfortable enough in short stints, but i hate actually walking around in these. they've been relegated to office duty, and even then, taking a long walk at lunch doesn't feel great. i previously had a different pair of fresh foam NB's that I loved, and I thought I was replacing those with these, but i realized after buying these that they were actually fresh foam X, and this regular fresh foam is just soft and not responsive or supportive. i have been walking 30-50 miles per week every week for the last 5 years or so and i'm a bigger guy, so i burn through running shoes fairly fast, but this is the easily worst pair in terms of both comfort and durability that i've bought over the last few years of trying various models from adidas, brooks, new balance, hoka, etc. these also have the most annoying laces i've ever had in a shoe, they come untied constantly.

stiching issues
21 August 2024

I bought it in this july and within one month of use , stitching started falling apart. I only used the shoes for normal walking. I like the comfort but quality is not up to mark. I have own'd different pairs of shoes like Nike, Adidas . Sketchers etc and never had issues with them. Its pretty frustrating that , the big brand like NW shoes are having quality issues. I dont deny the fact this this is most comfortable shoe I own and I have bought one pair for my dad as well but now I regret my decision. I will try to return mine as its within 45 days of return window . I think I am gonna return which i bought for my dad as well ( its still in box ).
