I compared the New Balance 608, 623, and 624 to my old pair of the discontinued 636. The 624s really stood out as the best fit, higher quality materials and construction, and most supportive. These are quite a good value. I use them with SuperFeet insoles. The 624s have a good balance of stability and shock absorption. I would prefer a bit more motion control, but for the most part they provide good stability. These are quality cross-training shoes, not just "Dad shoes".

I have been buying these New Balance 624's for years and years. It was only this purchase that I realised the V Number in the name was a version number. They don't change that much from 1 version to the next.I like these shoes because they are hard wearing and come in multiple width sizes - regular to 4EE I believe so if you have feet like Donald Duck these might be the ones for you. They are comfortable and affordable.Tip - if they get dirty you can get them back to brilliant white with a micro eraser from your local grocery store.

This shoe is a nice design. A bit more comfortable for both sitting at the desk and walking or riding the bike than the 608 shoes I wear much of the time. It has a nice cushion effect and a great control heal cup. I lace these to the top hole and get a tight, but comfortable fit. The left foot fits better than with the 880's or 860's I have also worn and gives more support and comfort.
I buy NB shoes because I have a small but wide foot and NB shoes cater for that. I like the fact that NB walking shoes are made from leather is real and not composite and that makes them extremely durable. I have a pair that I use for work as a driver/storeman and, even though the soles have worn somewhat, the uppers are completely in tact. I use the 624 V5 2E's for long walks and goal umpiring and they suit both purposes extreme well. Lastly, you can genuinely waterproof them.

Next, the size is consistent, the old shoes which fit like a glove and the new ones are just as comfortable- from first fitting. Style- unobtrusive and understated but cool and with good styling. Comfort is great- nice fit, (research the correct size and width- maybe Rebel can make this easier for new purchasers?) and comfort, especially on the heel. Value is great- I got them on a special which just made them more exceptional to me, but price wise they are the same as I paid for the first pair 5 years ago which is great- and before the discount! Well to say the truth I didn't know what to expect because it's my first time buying this brand. But I really like them. They're just for walking and running. Didn't give them a 5 star because my right pinky toe shafed a bit. So I can't say if it's because I need to break them in more or get the widest ones. But they were comfortable enough to not bother with the sharing problem.
I have found the 4X width New Balance 623 to be a comfortable fit in the past. However, the last several years the 623 was produced the width became significantly narrower and the exact same size and width I had purchased in the past no longer fit me. So, I thought I'd try the 624 and was pleasantly surprised to find the 4X width back to it's old fit. It was my first time purchasing from Rogan's Shoes and the experience was great and they had the best pricing I could find via an internet search.
I have four pairs of 624 V5 White sneakers, one pair for best, one pair for general wear, one pair for around the house and one pair for gardening and work around the house. As they become worn I buy a new pair for best and demote each of the other pairs and throw the oldest away. I have one pair of black shoes for weddings and funerals. I need no other shoes. I don't need to try them on in the shop, I know my size and they are always a perfect fit, I would recommend them!
I just purchased my third consecutive 624. They seem to last about three years with daily wear, mostly indoors (oldest 624 used for yard and lawn work). Not unexpectedly, the soles remain in great shape Wear occurs inside the shoe--at the heel, at the Achilles tendon, and around the upper edges. If I'm lucky enough to find a Wide available, it fits.The 624 loses a star because of the ridiculously long laces. The loops look like floppy clown proprellor blades hanging off the sides of the shoes. The length poses a real tripping problem, including when worn climbing a ladder. The lace ends frequently drop inside the loops, which invariably produces a tight know when you're trying to untie the shoes.
