New Balance ml 574 EVM Core Black

(9,068 reviews)

New Balance's 574 is, unquestionably, an icon. Instantly recognizable and enduringly popular, the 574 has come a long way from its origins as a multi-functional blend of trail and road running design. As a marked departure from the narrow racing silhouettes of prior generations, the 574 offered reliable comfort and stylistic versatility, in an unassumingly simple package. The 574 has defied trends and other artificial distinctions to become a fixture in closets all over the world.

Lovely shoe, this is my second round of these having gone for the burgundy lat time time. I previously had 880's and they were slightly longer, so I am a 10.5 in 880's and an
11 in these. Width and toe box is as expected and gives me plenty of room. I am waiting for a total hip replacement and NB were recommended to me, if anyone is in the
same boat I would recommend these as they provide excellent stability and tend not to wear on the edges like other brands/soles. The shoes seems to wear internally so look
great externally and its just the internal support that gets tired. NB prices seem to have gone up quite a bit compared to others in the last few years so that is the... Show more

I love this shoe and it’s probably my 6th pair or 574s. I love the cushion and comfort. I love the classic look. If you have a slightly wider foot, this shoe does have a wider toe
box that the unisex (gender inclusive as they call it now to appease a certain crowd) shoe does not have. That model is more narrow and not a good fit for most men. I have
an average width foot but I enjoy the wiggle room. The color gray is spectacular and matches just about any outfit. The only improvement they could make on this model is a
little more arch support. I find this shoe has adequate support but would like just a little more arch support and a little more heel cushion. These do have a remo... Show more

All the shoes out there today are foam support - inside and outside. A true runner or a person who has a daily routine at a gym cannot survive long with foam-support shoes
without soon sustaining terrible pain in the feet due to the poorly made junk shoes on today's market. A shoe for high intensity needs firm, solid support inside and out. The
NB shoe is outstanding at doing that and is the only shoe I wear for my daily workouts - and my feet never, ever hurt. OUTSTANDING support for the entire foot. I've
recommended this brand to many who complain of feet pain, and from the first time they put it on their foot for a high intensity workout, they've told me the cha... Show more

Classic for a number of reasons
11 August 2024
Needed a back-up shoe for an upcoming overseas trip, something neutral that didn't scream tennis shoe, and so far, pre-trip, I'm very pleased with the 574 Core. I usually wear a 7.5 but ordered up to an 8, based on other reviews. With my medium-weight, cushioned quarter socks, sizing up was a good decision. I have high arches, and the support feels adequate enough. Love the roomy toe box and grippy sole. Shoe feels sturdy but not heavy. Honestly, my only "complaint" to date is that I wish the white part of the sole and the taupe part were reversed, so the white wasn't so close to the bottom of the shoe. It's already showing a lot of dirt after just a handful of wears.... Show more

Comfortable and attractive lifestyle shoe
10 August 2024
These are, as described, a Lifestyle shoe. They are attractive and comfortable for that profile, which is what I was looking for. They work fine for a basic gym workout as well as general walks, but of course can't be expected to perform as a serious athletic shoe. One thing I wasn't aware of -- there is a small paper tag enclosed with the shoes stating that if they get wet, the color from the suede may bleed onto lighter parts of the shoe. Kind of wish I had known that up front, since I chose black, but so be it -- avoid walking in puddles. Overall the fit is good -- I have wide feet and they are generously sized in the normal average width. A person with narrower feet might find them a little too wide, but they work for me. Feeling much better
30 September 2024
I had been getting marks on my feet and complaining about pain from wearing ‘standard’ women’s width size 8 shoes. Since I upgraded to wide width 8.5 that I knew would have worked, as it did in the past- I was just stuck contemplating regarding the bigger investment as I only use to buy shoes $50 and under. However it’s been nearly a month now and although it kinda bugs me to keep up with appearances maintaining clean shoes, it doesn’t hurt me as much and the marks have been fading- and they feel so comfy. I don’t feel any circulation issues and resort to impromptu foot soaks and daily massages anymore. I’m definitely going to try to get other styles of this brand as backup. If you’re thinking about getting it, then do it as like me maybe it is better for you too. ... MoreI had been getting marks on my feet and complaining about pain from wearing ‘standard’ women’s width size 8 shoes. Incomparable. Beautiful. Comfortable. Fashionable.
27 October 2023
I recently found this page. I always bought in the store. When I was in Italy, I was looking for comfortable shoes that I could use while traveling. When I saw it, I really liked its fashionable design. When I put it on, I realized that it was very comfortable. When I returned home, I realized that I did not feel comfortable in my old shoes. I started using these shoes daily in rain snow even sunny weather. I threw away all my old shoes and bought another color. I wash very dirty new balance in the washing machine at 60°(but you don't try it officially not recommended). I don't know what to do for this model to be damaged in general. I have had it for 6 years. I only buy new ones to adjust the style. To be honest, I use it everywhere, every day, regardless of the ... MoreI recently found this page. I always bought in the store. I was a skeptic
20 March 2024
For years I had worn two other brands of athletic shoes. My husband always wore New Balance and swore they were the best. However our feet are shaped totally different - he is flat footed and I have a high arch so it didn’t make sense to me that we could wear the same shoe. Recently I purchased two pair of New Balance 574. Because I have a high arch I use Power Steps arch supports in the shoes. They are so comfortable! I have had two total hip replacements and as I result I was walking out of kilter. The New Balance shoes actually correct the way I walk. Also I really like the fact that they are roomy in the toe area. I am so happy that I tried them finally.... Show more

Terrible heel support
4 March 2024
I recently purchased these shoes for a vacation where we were visiting multiple theme parks. I have shoes from other brands but, due to my outfits and reading about new balance I wanted a pair that was neutral colored that seemed to be comfortable. I purchased these shoes in store, they seemed comfortable and fit great. I learned a major lesson, before you bring just one pair of tennis shoes on a trip, test them out ALL day long. After one day of wearing them my heels were in so much pain. I ended up developing a huge blister and by the end of our trip I was limping just to not put pressure on my heels. I was with a group that included a 5 year old, 11 & 12 year old which those ages have no issue complaining if there feet hurt. So, it’s sad when you as the adult are ... MoreI recently purchased these shoes for a vacation where we were visiting multiple theme parks. Toe Box isn’t Wide Enough for Human Feet
14 July 2024
The toe box isn’t wide enough to support healthy foot pronation. The shoe itself is wide, but the toe box meets at a point in the middle and isn’t wide enough for a standard human foot/toes.This is the case with all New Balances. We don’t want a symmetrical toe box, we want a foot shaped toe box with metatarsal support. You’re supposedly a world class shoe distributor and you’re missing out on the future of footware. You could be the first major company that produces wide toe box shoes with built-in metatarsal support which assists in the prevention of modern foot problems. As an ex patient aid, I can tell you 99% of old people have bunions and plantar fasciitis pain limiting their mobility. A systemic change in the industry could help us all.... Show more
