Expect about a week of break-in time. I did get some blistering around my Achilles, expected with any new boot; I recommend using the heel lock on the laces to minimize. Compared to the Copa Mundial they aren't as comfortable but only slightly less. Best modern boot I've tried, looks fantastic and they are really lite for leather. Would recommend and buy again. I wanted something more modern than the Mundials. I have a wide foot and was shopping around for a while before I landed on these.

Best cleat for “not skinny” feet

Best soccer cleats for wide feet. Only shoe that is comfortable for my kiddo. We’ve used these for two seasons, this is our second pair. We tried them based on a recommendation a friend made. His kid had the same problem, soccer cleats were too narrow. My kid’s feet aren’t terribly wide, but nothing worked. This shoe in WIDE is great. I won’t ever buy another shoe for my kid. Not all soccer players have skinny feet, so thankful New Balance recognizes that.

I can no longer squeeze my feet into the standard fitting soccer shoe, so I went for New Balance's wide fitting boot in the 442. After a couple uses, I must say these were better than my first impression. I wanted something simple and bit old school which is exactly what these are. I don't need all the new tech to play good soccer. The wide fitting option is definitely wider than the average cleat. I think they got the width correct. My feet won't slip in the boots and they are definitely not hurting after I play. I bought a size 10 and usually wear a 10 or 10.5. I like the conical stud pattern because I play a fair amount on turf and I want to be able to twist and rotate my feet without getting locked into the ground and increase the chances of injury. The stud pattern is not aggressive and super responsive like some, so know what you're getting. I have a pretty solid lock down feel in the heel, so no complaints there. The sole plate is very simple, and seems thick enough to where it will not start cracking and peeling from where the plastic meets the leather. The k-leather quality is decent, but not something to rival the best leather boots on the market. I prefer the leather option, because I know it will continue to stretch and mold to my foot shape with time. And using Chelsea Leather Food is a must in my book to keep your leather cleats in great shape. The tongue is probably the cheapest part of the shoe, mainly the quality of material. These are very lightweight cleats, so a big positive in that category. I give these 4 stars based on the quality of the material on these cleats. They're good, just not top level. We'll see how they hold up over time. Thank you New Balance for being one of the only soccer shoe companies that offers the wide fitting cleat.

Great cleat
13 October 2023

These cleats have been awesome! I don't have that wide of a foot but have found that I love my running shoes to have a little wider toe box so when buying new cleats I just found that everything was way too tight for my foot. These fit great and still have great touch/power to them. They have great traction on artificial turf and grass. The stud placement is comfortable and doesn't bother the middle of my foot like my old Puma Kings used to. Would 100% buy these again.

Great cleat if just a little bit wider.
12 March 2024

Ordered the wide version but they aren't very wide like the last version of these(which I loved). To be honest I think the wrong version was put in my box.. not sure if there is a way to tell from the actual cleat if it's wide version or not. Everything else is top of the line! Love the heel lock pads, padding is great in the k-leather and I can feel the studs stick and plant when I cut but you don't get stuck. I'll keep trying to stretch them out at the toe box especially around the big toe, but after a month of wearing them pretty much 6 days a week they still are a little tight.

Great looking and feeling boots but…
21 March 2024

These are wicked cool boots but I do have one issue with them, the sole tends to separate from the upper. I’ve played three games (7v7, 25 min halfs) in them and they’re already starting to peal. I expected better quality from such an expensive boot. The positives though, the leather is extremely soft and very nice quality. The boots look really nice and they break in nicely.

Great shoes but inconsistent on size
11 September 2023

I have the 442s for my indoor shoes and absolutely love them so thought I would try them out for outdoor. I love this color but they don’t have it in my country so I have to internationally ship them. I ordered the same size I have in my indoors and they came miles too long. I went to a nearby store and tried the same shoe but different color and settled on a size. Sent the shoe back and exchanged it and (still haven’t received my refund) but also the shoes came and they size isn’t any smaller. If anything it feels bigger. I’m not sure if this is a manufacture defect. With me not receiving a refund yet for the first one and having to pay international shipping everytime I doubt I would order these again. I’m sure I’d have to go 2 sizes down to remotely get close to ... MoreI have the 442s for my indoor shoes and absolutely love them so thought I would try them out for outdoor. These boots are tearing up the back of my heals. My old leather Tiempo's fit fine, but the sole box seems short. Not sure I like the conical studs either. Right boot runs a bit bigger which is frustrating and disappointing. The kangaroo leather is nice though. Nice flat front upper is good for traps and passes with weighted lift.

One of the best options in its price bracket
2 May 2024

I'm genuinely so impressed by these boots for what I payed. The k-leather upper is super soft which is always what I look for (I like cushy softer boots that feel closer to futsal boots for a plusher touch) but the thing that stood out most to me? They're SO light. I haven't checked exactly how light they are but just to the touch I couldn't believe how light they were. Really impressed for the first pair of NB boots I've ever bought.

Poor quality
21 March 2024

Great fit historically we love this style as the wide option accommodates a wide foot well. Terrible quality. Unfortunately the sole blew apart from the leather after wearing to 4 indoor practices. Only solution offered was I may ship them back, to wait up to 14 days for a refund once received and that I may then reorder. Unfortunately the shoddy quality and cumbersome return process left a bad impression from a once trusted brand.
