With the all-new 57/40 silhouette, New Balance brings us a fresh take on the iconic NB 574 series with design details from other 5XX models. For more than three decades, the New Balance 574 has been considered an absolute sneaker classic and at the same time one of the most iconic silhouettes of the sportswear brand industry-wide. With the release of the 57/40, New Balance brings us what is without question the most expressive silhouette within the 574 family. The upper of the 57/40 completely reinterprets the aesthetic of the 80s and 90s. Classic 574 lines have been repurposed to create a modern silhouette that still remains deeply rooted in New Balance DNA. The traditional N logo has been enlarged and now counts as a key design element similar to the branding on the also fairly recent 327 silhouette. The stacked dual sole unit also immediately catches the eye - one is inspired by the 90s heritage, drawing on a wider, wavy design, while the traditional 574 midsole also makes use. The enlarged outsole authentically embodies the trail heritage of the 574 silhouette.
