After years, still a favorite
I used this when it first launched years ago. Like 8 years ago? Something like that. I loved it then, and went through two or three bottles, but as someone who likes the "new", I tried other foundations and moved on. Recently I picked this up again and am reminded how GOOD this product is! It has medium to high coverage but still looks natural and not heavy/cakey. It goes on like a dream and blends so well. It has a natural, skin like finish - not matte and not dewy. Maybe I'd call it satin? And it stays that way all day. Dry spots never look dry and anywhere I sometimes get a little oily, it never shows with this foundation.I will agree with other reviewers, the shades run dark! Probably best to swatch in store if you've never tried this formula before, and think ... MoreI used this when it first launched years ago. Like 8 years ago? Something like that. It doesn't oxidize for me, so what you see is what you get straight out of the bottle with this one.... Show more

Epic Fail
I had worn Vanilla for years. It’s been my go to every day running errands etc and save my expensive foundation for others things. Decided to order a bottle. Wow. At first I thought they sent the wrong color but it said Vanilla on the box and bottle. It went on my face the color of mud!!!! I thought oh they must have sent me some kind of bronzer. Nope. Vanilla. They must have changed their color wheel, formula whatever. My husband came by and as I was staring shocked into my make up mirror he said what is that dirty stuff you have all over your face!!!! Washed my face and threw it in the trash. Not even trying another shade. How sad when your former back up brand isn’t even close to what you had. I had an almost empty other bottle and it was the Vanilla I knew. I ... Excellent
I peer in the mirror in the morning having applied my daily sunscreen feeling slightly disheartened at the blotchy skin and now shiny pores staring back at me - I dot a little of this makeup around my face, blend in and voila! The shine has gone and the unevenness evened out. I like so much about it, I wanted a makeup that would take away the shine of the sunscreen but not give me that dull matt look and this does exactly that, and it looks so natural. If you want more gleam you could always add a touch of highlighter or use an illuminating primer. The coverage is probably best described as moderate - enough to cover what needs covering but without looking very made up, but you could probably build it up if you wanted to, though I prefer the illusion of a natural look.... Fair Olive Skin Complexion Solution
I first stumbled upon this foundation after deciding on a whim I needed to begin including a concealer in my new-found makeup routine. I was using Clinique's Superpowder Double Face Makeup in 09 matte cream for a few years, but was never 100% happy with my purchase because the color felt ever so slightly "off" (too yellow-toned for my skin). What prompted me to make a new foundation purchase wasn't initially color choice, but lack of coverage- I was realizing the darker circles under my eyes and prominent vein (I've always had) under my right eye was one of the driving factors for me wanting to add a concealer to my makeup routine. I began diligently seeking reviews and more importantly trying to find someone that had the same issue I did; finding the correct color ... I began diligently seeking reviews and more importantly trying to find someone that had the same issue I did; finding the correct color for a fair to moderately fair olive-skinned woman whose veins on the inner part of the wrist are a combination of purple & green. I didn't successfully find any reviews or YouTubers who matched those specific parameters, but I did find some glowing reviews for Clinique's Superbalanced Makeup. I used my Superpowder foundation as a reference as well as the site's model to get an idea as to what color would be best. I settled on 03 Ivory. I just received my purchase today and was ecstatic when I tried a swatch on my cheek. It blended seamlessly. I did a full face of makeup after getting ready for the day and I can confidently say I finally found My foundation of choice. The formula has a natural finish, lightweight, easy, buildable coverage (used fingers & sponge for application). I love that it reduces the pores on my cheeks, neutralizes the hyperpigmentation from acne, and reduces the dark circles & vein that runs under my eye, all without the use of a concealer I initially thought I needed. Thanks Clinique for your fantastic formula and helping me create a natural even canvas to explore my makeup endeavors.... Show more

It works wonders!
I decided to give this foundation a try, and it did not disappoint. It feels like having a professional finish, it also feels moisturizing without leaving any greasy sensation on the skin.My nose do keeps getting oily through the day, but I don't wear that much product on my T zone, since I don't feel like I need that much foundation in that area... still doesn't "subtracts" where I need even if I do use the same amount in all my face. (It could be my skin and not the product to be fair)But also doesn't make my face oily in the places I do wear more... So I do like it!The only thing I wish they change is adding a pump or other way to use it, since I take out more product that needed...... Show more

Love love love!
New favorite. Recently I just bought clinique's even better foundation (which I do really like) but it's now winter and I needed a different shade. I wanted to try another formula so I got the superbalanced. Then I looked up some reviews on youtube and they weren't sooo great. It was a goes on beautifully (not everyone) but most say it didn't pass the wear test, it had a 2 hour life (meaning it just disappeared after 2 hours). I disagree. It's been 5 hours and it's still there! Didn't settle into pores AT ALL, which is rare, the even better foundation does a bit after a few hours. I was shocked how easily and beautifully it went on, we're talking perfect. It is quite sheer however, but personally I like that, little concealer, no prob. Only foundation I would say I ... Only foundation I would say I like as much is the Lancome tinted moisturizer, kinda annoyed I forgot the name, just threw it out a few months ago (expired, and runs very dark, had to self tan to wear porcelain). Highly recommend. I don't know how it would hold up on a very hot busy day however. Oh and I powder. K, I'm done :)... Show more

Move over, powder foundations!
Mineral powder foundations have always been my preference as a combo/acne-prone gal. This foundation performs beautifully for me! It blurs pores, covers all my blotchy areas, reduces redness, and *most importantly* does not irritate my ultra sensitive skin. No breakouts or clogged pores! It feels weightless too. Lightweight enough for daily wear with a glam finish. (Seriously, I wore this for professional photos and looked almost airbrushed. Not the least bit cakey!) Also looks great over SPF. Would suggest cream blush with this foundation- powder blush is a bit more difficult to blend. For comparison- this worked better than the Exa Beauty foundation (Clinique's Superbalanced does not get nearly as oily) and better than Tower28's SunnyDays skin tint (Superbalanced ... Old and Perfect!
I have used this product since I was in my twenties. I’m a senior now with a great complexion, and I pretty much owe it to using this product as it’s the only thing I’ve put on my face. No moisturizer either; if by any chance my skin were dry at any time, I’d put maybe a drop of olive oil/mineral oil/coconut oil under the eyes and neck. Unable to find it, I bought a newer version in a different bottle with the same shade name. It’s different, though; in fact, I don’t use it …. So searching again for it, I’m extremely happy to have found the old version on Macy’s online. Thank you. Don’t change this product. “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.”... Show more

Oldie but still a fave
I tried this foundation years ago when it first released. I liked it well enough, used it up, but never repurchased at that time. I've been on a "skin tint" kick for a while now, but was looking for something with more coverage for an event this summer, and decided to try this again. So glad I did! This applies and blends easily, settles down to a nice satin finish (but can be manipulated with primer - dewy primer gives more glow, matte primer takes the satin finish down). I have dry skin and it didn't cling or emphasize dryness. I also have mature skin (48) and this looked nice on all my areas of fine lines. It lasts well for a normal day. No irritation or breakouts. The big CON: the shades run dark and a bit cool toned. I don't mind the undertones since I lean ... MoreI tried this foundation years ago when it first released. I've been using this quite a bit all summer, but will likely have to set it aside for winter as the shade is too dark.... Show more

Superbalanced foundation is great foundation.
When I started using Clinique products over fifteen years ago, this was the foundation that they recommended. I used it for a long time until the Even Better Glow foundaton came out and I liked it better because it had an SPF in it. When Clinique discontinued the Even Better Glow I tried several of the other Clinique foundations and there was just something not right about them. I then decided to go back and try the Superbalanced foundation again. It is perfect for my skin that is dry in some areas and a little oily in other areas. It helps to balance your skin and makes it feel good. I really am glad that I went back to this foundation. (I'm glad that Clinique kept this one.)... Show more
