Nike's Air Max Plus Wolf Grey is part of a longstanding silhouette that draws heavily on nautical themes, according to original designer Sean McDowell. The Wolf Grey variant of the Air Max Plus seeks to balance this purposely exaggerated design with a relatively neutral colorway. The grey appears uniformly throughout the silhouette, and the palm tree bars coming up the sides of the shoe start out with a whitish-grey at the bottom that moves to black as the lines go up toward the top. For the midsole, the design is meant to evoke imagery of a whale's giant tail breaching the surface of the water. This design caps off with an outsole that includes Nike's flexible yet durable membrane of pressurized air. The Nike Air Max Plus Wolf Grey released in 2018 and retailed for $160.
