I have about 80 miles in the Pegasus 37 and I have to say, I'm extremely impressed. First, the fit is perfect, as I've come to expect from Nike. I'm true to size (9.5), the upper is
comfortable and locks down my foot with no hot spots or pressure points, and the forefoot has plenty of room for my toes to splay, without feeling sloppy. The React midsole
and updated Air pod in the forefoot are the real highlight, though. It's an incredibly versatile midsole combination that lets me use this shoe from easy-paced, recovery runs
to tempos and even some marathon-pace long runs. It's very difficult to find a shoe that has so much range, especially at this price. On top of it all, the durability... Show more

Second, cushioning (or, if you prefer, "ride") is substantially more comfortable. Third, unlike the 35, there was no discernable "creasing" of the foam material after modest use. Finally, they were overall more comfortable...at least at this point. The "not so good" point: the tongue of the 37 has evidently been ported over from the earlier version of the Vomero. Effectively, that eliminates the possibility of a "lock lacing" scheme, because the lace will cross the foot extensor tendons above the reach of the tongue. On the other hand, while I usually use a "lock" lace method, I didn't notice any slippage without it. Second tongue issue is that it creases horizontally around the level of the 3rd lace hole. I'm not sure this confers any future disadvantage. but it might be worth noting. Finally, the tongue is much more "minimalist" compared to the 35 and that discourages tight lacing schemes again due to lace on tendon pressure.Another potential problem with this shoe is grip on wet asphalt. Both with this shoe and the 35, I noticed forefoot slippage on wet pavement. Fortunately, the heel impact was unchanged. When it's really wet around here and there's also moss growing on the streets, I switch to a trail running shoe (different manufacturer) which has grippy and deep cleats on the sole.In summary, this seems like a significant improvement in the venerable Pegasus lineup, at least compared to the 35. Assuming it continues to perform as per this point, I'll keep it.... Show more

My only regret is not having purchased more of this one in the all white/black model which first came out at the beginning of the year. They are impossible to find now and I have searched EXTENSIVELY. The material is all Ultra bright white which is cool bc they practically glow in the dark (that is how white they are) but one has to be careful not to get them dirty; so if u r into showing them off, then any 37 in white will be noticeable. I bought 6 pairs at the beginning of the year and already went through 3 of them bc the sole although very comfortable does wear out fast (that is fine with me as I value comfort over longevity). The remaining 2 of them were “borrowed” by siblings and 1 which was to end up being displayed as a collection item was intercepted by my maligator and confused as a chewing toy. They are very, very comfortable and since I couldn’t find the 37 in all white and black logo (sadly), I ended up purchasing this color style instead.... Show more

I was hoping for React foam to be introduced to the Pegasus line due to its durability and energy return, but what I'm most impressed with is the rubber on the outsole. I forefoot strike and supinate (so the forefoot outside edge of my shoes typically has the most wear), and the rubber on that part of the Peg 37 has held up extremely well so far. I'm expecting to get at least a few hundred miles out of these. Above all else, the shoe is simply fun to run in. I can't wait to lace up my pegs and hit the road. They just make me happy. Thank you, Nike, for listening to runners' feedback and continuing to develop shoes that make running accessible and fun. I will definitely be putting some serious mileage in the Peg 37s this year. Workhorse with wings indeed! Now, if I could just convince you guys to put some React foam and an Air pod in the next version of the Streak....... Show more

Great comfortable shoes with few issues
31 May 2021
I am 190lbs so finding shoes that support well can be a challenge. Only handful of reviews are geared towards heavier users so you can not fully go on ratings. The react midsole and the air pods at the forefoot feel supportive throughout the run. Some softer mid soles bottom out overtime especially the forefoot so the you don’t get the bounce back like you are supposed to. But these shoes deliver in that end and also are pretty stable as well. The fit is awesome as well. It feels like the shoes grabs you everywhere the forefoot, mid foot and the ankle without feeling like it is squeezing you. Also the upper is pretty flexible to keep your foot comfortable through your strides. Not the few issues. The known issue of heel slippage. Well, my left foot has stopped slipping but right still keeps slipping. I think it may have reduced or it is just wishful thinking. I will do few more sessions and see if it improves any further and will update the review.Second issue may be the breathabilty of the uppers. I do mostly indoors so it is not an issue at all but compare to my other running shoes I have I really don’t feel the air passing through the uppers. From the reviews I have read on the 38, it looks like they may have addressed the issues but will only know when I try them.... Great every day runner
2 June 2020
I have for a long time worn Nike’s as they tend to fit my feet the best. I run about 30 miles per week and have been a long time Pegasus user. I have used the Peg 29, 31, 33, and 34. I have more recently also been using the Epic React, as I like how light the shoe is and the responsiveness of the foam, but shoe is not that durable. So I was very excited to see the Peg 37 transition to the React foam and recently got my new pair. I have been out on 4 and 6 mile runs with the shoe. Will do a longer run over the weekend.Overall great shoe and would recommend it. The shoe is very comfortable and has a good spring back on the stride. The “strange looking” extended heel supports the natural running stride. The shoes are light but have the fully extended outsole for wear protection on the React foam. We’ll see how they hold up over time.Overall it is a nice looking shoe. Wish they had some better options on the colors. Not crazy about any of them. I ended up choosing the Black/Blue/Green after seeing it at the store just because it is different. But wish they had brighter colors.Still figuring out the right sock thickness to use. The heel tends to be a little loose if I wear socks that are too thin, even using the heel lock. But will figure this out as shoes are overall very comfortable. Felt good on the run and my time slightly improved (not sure if it was the shoe or just the inspiration of wearing a new shoe…).What does not work well for this shoe is using SuperFeet insoles. I have used those for previous models to increase the support. But in the Peg 37’s with the insoles my foot sits too high on the shoe (so ankle support is not where it needs to be), shoes were too tight, and also felt stiff (my guess is because the midsole is thicker than models in the past). So I removed the insoles.... Show more

Great new direction in the Peg. THANK YOU NIKE!

I've always thought that if Nike gave a huge stack of react foam in the heel and put a big air bag in the forefoot that they would have the perfect daily trainer. I literally said this to a Nike store worker last year. I've had the Zoom Fly series, peg 35, peg turbo and epic react series. All of them were good but were missing something. The Peg 37 is the best running shoe I've ever owned.Cons:It's a little slower than the 35 and 36. But, who cares? There is so much more spring and impact protection that it's well worth sacrificing the speedy transitions of cushlon foam. These are seriously more cushioned than my epic reacts yet they can still be used for speed intervals if needed. The toe box starts a bit tight but it loosens up. I had no heel slippage like people were saying so the lockdown feels great.Pros:The midsole is absolutely what a daily trainer should be, especially for people getting into running and perhaps have more body weight than they wish. This shoe will help your impact on the hard road with the extra body weight. That body weight won't be around long cause this shoe will make you want to go running. It's stable enough if you're a mild pronator like me but don't want too much stride interference. It's not too narrow unlike the zoom fly series. You won't have to worry about rolling your ankle when your form erodes due to fatigue.Forefoot protection and spring is excellent. That airbag is great. The durability is awesome. No ugly creases like the old pegs on the midsole. The tongue is thinner but doesn't feel crumpled up and loose like the Turbos. Also, I like zoom air in the forefoot better than zoom x foam in the forefoot.... Show more

High performance comfort - like riding an actual Pegasus

The updated Pegasus have the rare combination of being super cushy and forgiving, but very responsive and fast. From the second I put these on I wanted to cut loose, I felt like they were almost going to run by themselves. Before these, as I pushed my distance further and further I had trouble with ankle pain and my training suffered. Now equipped with the right shoes I have comfortably increased my long run distance, and haven't suffered through next day recovery runs with ankle pain. I've also instantly improved my average mile times by a solid 15 seconds. Super forgiving on downhills also, allows you to pick up a lot of time without worrying as much about injury. Overall, great cushion shoes, but not great for stability or speed
4 January 2021
I have waited until I put about 100 miles on the shoes before reviewing them. I run average 20-30 miles a week and my pace is usually 7-8 minute-mile. The first 50 miles, the upper seemed to not breath at all and snugged my foot very tight. It was at a level that I was considering returning the shoes until they loosened up after 50-60 miles or so, but usually should not take that long. Still, it is not as breathable as it should be. The cushion is great, but the boost of speed that is advertised with these type of shoes are just not there, they cancel out with the cushion and high weight of the shoe. The best Pegasus in nearly a decade

I'm a pretty serious runner. I don't run as much as I did 30 or even 20 years ago, but I still want a shoe that 1) fits well, 2) has great cushioning, and 3) is fairly light.1) The fit on the Pegasus 37 is perfect and the shoe just disappears on my foot (which is the highest praise I can give to any shoe).2) The cushioning is soft, but not so soft and mushy that you can't pick up the pace. Unlike some shoes that are soft in the heel and firm in the forefoot (or vice versa), these are consistently soft throughout. If you hate feeling the road (like a shoe that has lost all of its cushioning) and instead want to feel the shoe, you will love these.3) It isn't a "light" shoe, but it is light enough that you can pick up the pace when you want to.A few other notes: ... MoreI'm a pretty serious runner. From long runs to speedwork to off-road (grass, dirt, or light trails), it could handle any kind of run, and that is true of the Pegasus 37, too. Furthermore, it can handle any kind of stride, whether you are a heel or midfoot striker. The heel-toe transition very smooth. Lastly, between the React foam and the carbon rubber outsole, this shoe should be extremely durable. The Pegasus was my favorite running shoe for many years, but recent versions had cushioning that was too thin and firm. The Peg 37 is back to its roots as a soft and relatively light "do anything" trainer.... Show more
