I've intermittently used the Pegasus for about a decade. My last experience with this shoe was the #35. Having had a generally unfavorable year long experience with that shoe (~30 miles/week but too cheap to get rid of it), I was hesitant to re-engage with this model. But, the fact that it was extensively revamped coupled with the 60 day "no questions asked" return policy, made it worth the try. Normally, I would have hesitated to review these absent a half-marathon, but those have been cancelled where I live due to the pandemic.First, the toe box is more spacious and accommodating compared to the 35. Second, cushioning (or, if you prefer, "ride") is substantially more comfortable. Second, cushioning (or, if you prefer, "ride") is substantially more comfortable. Third, unlike the 35, there was no discernable "creasing" of the foam material after modest use. Finally, they were overall more comfortable...at least at this point. The "not so good" point: the tongue of the 37 has evidently been ported over from the earlier version of the Vomero. Effectively, that eliminates the possibility of a "lock lacing" scheme, because the lace will cross the foot extensor tendons above the reach of the tongue. On the other hand, while I usually use a "lock" lace method, I didn't notice any slippage without it. Second tongue issue is that it creases horizontally around the level of the 3rd lace hole. I'm not sure this confers any future disadvantage. but it might be worth noting. Finally, the tongue is much more "minimalist" compared to the 35 and that discourages tight lacing schemes again due to lace on tendon pressure.Another potential problem with this shoe is grip on wet asphalt. Both with this shoe and the 35, I noticed forefoot slippage on wet pavement. Fortunately, the heel impact was unchanged. When it's really wet around here and there's also moss growing on the streets, I switch to a trail running shoe (different manufacturer) which has grippy and deep cleats on the sole.In summary, this seems like a significant improvement in the venerable Pegasus lineup, at least compared to the 35. Assuming it continues to perform as per this point, I'll keep it.

I have about 80 miles in the Pegasus 37 and I have to say, I'm extremely impressed. First, the fit is perfect, as I've come to expect from Nike. I'm true to size (9.5), the upper is comfortable and locks down my foot with no hot spots or pressure points, and the forefoot has plenty of room for my toes to splay, without feeling sloppy. The React midsole and updated Air pod in the forefoot are the real highlight, though. It's an incredibly versatile midsole combination that lets me use this shoe from easy-paced, recovery runs to tempos and even some marathon-pace long runs. It's very difficult to find a shoe that has so much range, especially at this price. On top of it all, the durability is on point so far. I was hoping for React foam to be introduced to the Pegasus line due to its durability and energy return, but what I'm most impressed with is the rubber on the outsole. I forefoot strike and supinate (so the forefoot outside edge of my shoes typically has the most wear), and the rubber on that part of the Peg 37 has held up extremely well so far. I'm expecting to get at least a few hundred miles out of these. Above all else, the shoe is simply fun to run in. I can't wait to lace up my pegs and hit the road. They just make me happy. Thank you, Nike, for listening to runners' feedback and continuing to develop shoes that make running accessible and fun. I will definitely be putting some serious mileage in the Peg 37s this year. Workhorse with wings indeed! Now, if I could just convince you guys to put some React foam and an Air pod in the next version of the Streak....

They are very comfortable and offer more heel support than the 36 which leave you begging for some central foot support in longer and harder surfaces. They are a bit tight on the front so shoot for a size bigger than with the 36 and tighten them shoe laces properly. No do not wear double ankle socks, just ensure you have some non sweat dry Nike socks to go with them. Furthermore, there were no noticeable heat seeping from the bottom of the sole like with the 36 (at least in Houston in the middle of the summer). In fact I use the 36 best in cushioned trails like crushed gravel (Memorial Park, Houston, 3 mile lap) and the 37 in concrete and asphalt trails (Buffalo Bayou trail, 4.2 mile lap, bike and kinder trail). My only regret is not having purchased more of this one in the all white/black model which first came out at the beginning of the year. They are impossible to find now and I have searched EXTENSIVELY. The material is all Ultra bright white which is cool bc they practically glow in the dark (that is how white they are) but one has to be careful not to get them dirty; so if u r into showing them off, then any 37 in white will be noticeable. I bought 6 pairs at the beginning of the year and already went through 3 of them bc the sole although very comfortable does wear out fast (that is fine with me as I value comfort over longevity). The remaining 2 of them were “borrowed” by siblings and 1 which was to end up being displayed as a collection item was intercepted by my maligator and confused as a chewing toy. They are very, very comfortable and since I couldn’t find the 37 in all white and black logo (sadly), I ended up purchasing this color style instead.

Managed to get my hands on these great new shoes and put them to the test. Wow - extra spring for sure in the thicker, React-foam midsole and the enlarged Zoom air bag at the front really cushions the forefoot as it strikes. I have the Peg 36's too and these are definitely a softer and more comfortable ride for the foot yet are still 'snappy' and not too cushioned. The mesh is also great on the feet keeping them cool as you run - I could feel the breeze on the foot which prevents the tacky feeling as the sweat builds up. I have a 2E (wide) fitting and Nike shoes can be narrow, but I found the mesh upper to accommodate my foot nicely in this standard, 'D' fitting shoe and I must admit I had no issues with comfort at the front. With that said, I did use the second eyelet for the 'lace lock' technique and that held my heel in a tad too tight for a first run - I won't use this in future and will try a different lacing mechanism. 5kms and only a slight rub on my right outstep due to the wrong lacing techniques for these shoes - my fault. The grip on the outsole is also amazing, and I did a small amount of running on dirt and grass and they stuck like glue. No roll or feeling that the shoe was getting away from me. Final verdict - GREAT SHOE - highly recommended and very, very comfy to run in... the blue colour also looks sweet and at under $200 these are a steal!
I am 190lbs so finding shoes that support well can be a challenge. Only handful of reviews are geared towards heavier users so you can not fully go on ratings. The react midsole and the air pods at the forefoot feel supportive throughout the run. Some softer mid soles bottom out overtime especially the forefoot so the you don’t get the bounce back like you are supposed to. But these shoes deliver in that end and also are pretty stable as well. The fit is awesome as well. It feels like the shoes grabs you everywhere the forefoot, mid foot and the ankle without feeling like it is squeezing you. Also the upper is pretty flexible to keep your foot comfortable through your strides. Not the few issues. The known issue of heel slippage. Well, my left foot has stopped slipping but right still keeps slipping. I think it may have reduced or it is just wishful thinking. I will do few more sessions and see if it improves any further and will update the review.Second issue may be the breathabilty of the uppers. I do mostly indoors so it is not an issue at all but compare to my other running shoes I have I really don’t feel the air passing through the uppers. From the reviews I have read on the 38, it looks like they may have addressed the issues but will only know when I try them.
5 stars for comfort, 1 star for quality.I've been running in various models of Nike Pegasus for about 10 years but if I could find another shoe from a different manufacturer that felt as comfortable to me, then I would change brands immediately.*Nike's manufacturing quality is really poor - the treads on the soles of these shoes frequently start to peel off, particularly round the outside, which leaves little trailing strips of rubber flailing around and folding under your feet. Irritating at best and dangerous at worst. This happened with my last pair of Pegasus in spite of hardly having been worn and never having been used for running. (Run & Become, to their credit, couldn't have been more helpful in letting me return them & supplying a new pair). (Run & Become, to their credit, couldn't have been more helpful in letting me return them & supplying a new pair). It's happened to me in the past after only a couple of weeks of owning and running in Pegasus. Nike obviously have done the sums and found that it's more economical to cut corners in manufacturing and deal with the few people who can be bothered returning the shoes, rather than improving quality. The other big issue is the shiny laces which inevitably come undone during a run unless they are double or even triple knotted. This astounds me. Obviously I could replace the laces myself, every time I buy a pair, but you'd think that with Nikes years of research into running technology that they'd have worked out that it's better for laces to stay tied and just use a slightly rougher material with higher surface friction. It's not that complicated Nike...*Run & Become have done a brilliant job in trying to find an alternative shoe any time I've been into the shop for new trainers, but unfortunately nothing else feels as comfortable.
These shoes are next level! I use them for Crossfit training and also everyday running and they're excellent for both. The shoe is very versatile and extremely supportive. With the current lockdown situation, I partake in a lot of road running, the cushioning and lightweight feel of these shoes really help to soften the harsh effects that road running can have on your knees. The heel has just the right amount of cushioning too - it doesn't feel heavy or chunky. They're also very supportive for weightlifting - supportive around the ankles without being too tight. With the raised heel, they're also good for lower body lifting. I was initially concerned that the sole was a little too chunky (from the photos), but they look much better in person. I would say that they fit slightly bigger than most shoes, I'm usually a 9 but had to go with an 8.5 for a breathable (for running) but snug fit. JD exchanged my sizing really quickly, delivery was excellent - even in the current climate. I've been on 20-25 runs since ordering and they're still in good condition (picture attached)
Pegasus has been my favorite running shoe for 4 decades. I am an older runner (66). This shoe is not a stability shoe but is nice and light with average cushion. I really like it for running on my cushioned treadmill and for short indoor runs at the YMCA on the indoor track in the winter. I have another shoe that has more cushion and stability for outdoor runs. It has average to below average wear, which means this is not a high mileage shoe. It would also make a good interval shoe. I recommend it if you run a few miles a day, neutral runner, and don't need lots of stability.
I have waited until I put about 100 miles on the shoes before reviewing them. I run average 20-30 miles a week and my pace is usually 7-8 minute-mile. The first 50 miles, the upper seemed to not breath at all and snugged my foot very tight. It was at a level that I was considering returning the shoes until they loosened up after 50-60 miles or so, but usually should not take that long. Still, it is not as breathable as it should be. The cushion is great, but the boost of speed that is advertised with these type of shoes are just not there, they cancel out with the cushion and high weight of the shoe. They feel significantly heavier compared to other performance models (from other brands) that I use in rotation with this one. So if you think they will decrease your minute-mile, they won't, however, they will give you great cushion if that is what you are looking for. Also, these shoes show up after filtering for stability, but they do not provide significant support for medium-low arch feet. Overall, I believe there are a lot of room for improvement, so I am giving them 4 stars.
I'm a pretty serious runner. I don't run as much as I did 30 or even 20 years ago, but I still want a shoe that 1) fits well, 2) has great cushioning, and 3) is fairly light.1) The fit on the Pegasus 37 is perfect and the shoe just disappears on my foot (which is the highest praise I can give to any shoe).2) The cushioning is soft, but not so soft and mushy that you can't pick up the pace. Unlike some shoes that are soft in the heel and firm in the forefoot (or vice versa), these are consistently soft throughout. If you hate feeling the road (like a shoe that has lost all of its cushioning) and instead want to feel the shoe, you will love these.3) It isn't a "light" shoe, but it is light enough that you can pick up the pace when you want to.A few other notes: ... MoreI'm a pretty serious runner. From long runs to speedwork to off-road (grass, dirt, or light trails), it could handle any kind of run, and that is true of the Pegasus 37, too. Furthermore, it can handle any kind of stride, whether you are a heel or midfoot striker. The heel-toe transition very smooth. Lastly, between the React foam and the carbon rubber outsole, this shoe should be extremely durable. The Pegasus was my favorite running shoe for many years, but recent versions had cushioning that was too thin and firm. The Peg 37 is back to its roots as a soft and relatively light "do anything" trainer.
