Nike Running Downshifter 12 Sneakers in White

Ordered on 16 Apr and received on 18 Apr. Packaging now comes plain so as to be environmentally friendly. There are however still some prints in the box to show its authenticity. The shoes itself while nice looking, doesn't seem suitable for running as the rubber or foam feels rather stiff and hard. Now mainly using it as a casual going out shoes. Guess can't complain much for the price paid - less than $70 for a pair.

A great mid-level shoe

These shoes are some of the softest I’ve owned. (I tend to buy cheap basic shoes). They’re cushy without being squishy, and really wrap my foot up well. I like that the tongue isn’t in the way, but stays in place. And the style is subtle enough to wear to work without causing too much attention. I doubt they would be great for serious runners, but would be fine for walkers and light joggers. I would buy them again.

These shoes are awesome. Exactly what I've been needing. Because I have issues with my feet I can only wear higher priced name brand running shoes now. Nike has always been my favorite. I was lucky to catch these shoes on sale. Thanks Shoe Carnival for making my day.

New mesh material splits

The mesh material cracks/splits. I bought two pairs, all black and black and white. Both pairs had the mesh start to split below the laces in the area where the foot and toes crease the material when walking. To be clear, I don't run in them and I don't wear them in bad weather so I'm not sure what's causing them to do this. The material seems more stiff and brittle compared to prior Downshifters, if you're fine getting splits in the material, these are very comfortable shoes but I expect more from Nike and more quality/durability for my money.

Repeat purchase

These are the most comfortable casual wear shoes I’ve had in years. This is my second pair. I like to keep one pair clean all the time. This lace up style is more comfortable to me than the tighter fitting slip on styles. It’s more adjustable.

Wears out easily

I was excited about these shoes until, after only three weeks of occasional use, the outer mesh surface began to tear at a point where the shoe naturally bends when walking. Now the new shoes look worn out. The quality of the outer material is unacceptably poor.
