(911 reviews)

The Nike Free Metcon 5 Black Anthracite (Women's) is a training shoe with performance-enhancing features and a sleek, dark colorway of black and Anthracite. The Black Anthracite (Women's) Nike Free Metcon 5 combines a molded heel clip for superior stability and Nike Free tech in the forefoot, increasing flexibility and allowing the foot to continue its natural movements. The all-black upper features breathable mesh paneling, complementing the plush padding in the collar for ankle support. In addition, a pull tab on the tongue helps with putting on or taking off the shoe. The branding details come in Anthracite, which allows them to subtly stand out against the black upper. Our experts like the heel’s wide base and the large, foam midsole. They create an exaggerated look underfoot while providing a solid base for lifting and responsive, lightweight cushioning. The women’s size Nike Free Metcon 5 Black Anthracite (Women's) was originally released on December 13, 2023, and sold for $120.

Comfortable with a deeper heel cup!

I've gotten a few compliments while out doing errands! I wish it was going to be easier to clean the upper, but with the fabric sometimes it is harder to keep them clean. When you first put them on, expect them to be tight across the toes and forefoot! They will loosen up as you wear them! One of the main issues I've found is really only an issue of you are someone who prefers a thinner style of sock than most athletic socks. If you are a thinner sock person, the joining seams of the forefoot and the heel cup could become irritating on your foot, but if you wear athletic socks with a little more to them then it shouldn't be an issue!... It leaves me less than a thumb width from toe to tip of shoe and it fits perfectly. Also, I am 5 months pregnant and this shoe is easy to slip on and off which is great considering the remaining months ahead.I will say this, one thing that bothers me is that the first day I wore these shoes I had short socks and the front and back “lips” seemed to hit my ankle and rub a bit in both places. I switched to higher socks the next time and had no rubbing issues. Unfortunately, the higher socks don’t look good with leggings or jeans so I may just have to endure the slight rub with ankle socks when wearing them just for fashion and not around the house. I feel like most tennis shoes do that for me personally so I am not letting that effect the rating, just something to keep in mind if that should be an issue for others.Overall, I am very pleased with this shoe. The style seems to be on-trend, they are breaking in nicely and without issues, comfy and easy to put on.... Show more

LOVE these shoes!
23 January 2023
I was looking for a new running shoe that provided excellent comfort, support, and durability. I found these shoes, and I am so glad that I did. These shoes are so comfortable- if feels like you are walking on air. At first, they look bulky coming out of the box but when I put them on, they feel so light but still very supportive. Support is something I require in a shoe to prevent my feet and back from hurting during my workouts. These shoes have the perfect balance of comfort and support. Even after an extremely taxing run and workout, my feet feel great. The overall look of this shoe is very sleek and appealing. I found that the insert was super comfortable and a great addition to the overall support of the shoe. This shoe fit perfectly and as described so I didn't have to worry about it being too big or small. It did not rub anywhere on my feet and they pair perfectly with all of my workout clothes. This shoe is so comfortable that I found myself forgetting to take them off immediately after I get home from working out as I tend to do with my workout shoes. I definitely plan to wear this shoe for more than a workout shoe because it is so stylish and comfortable. Definitely recommend!... Show more

These sneakers fit perfectly once you get them on. It took me a little time to get them on, that I think I might need to use a shoe horn for assistance. This was due to the sock like design of the shoe. There’s no separation with the shoe and the tongue, which gives a little resistance when trying to put the shoe on. However this design fits closure to your feet, but I would recommend a half size bigger to make it easier to put on. The outer sole of the shoes is very sturdy and compact but still allows for flexibility when walking or running. The grooves in the outer sole of the shoe from the tip of your toes to the midway point of your foot, has rubber grips for better friction to prevent slipping. The sneaker is also perforated for better breathability, helping it to dry faster and not be smelly from overuse. This sneaker is very multipurpose from walking, running or just casual wear. It even goes well with a dress or jeans. I would recommend it for any woman on the go back and forth to work or just running errands.... Show more

Overall a great shoe

I ordered the yellow color online which is not in stock anymore. I was sent a damaged piece, that color is now available only on the Nike website and nowhere else. Anyways, the shoes itself is great if you are doing light training and some cardio. If you are doing heavy lifting and movements like back squats, RDLs and deadlifts then in my opinion the shoe has to be taken off to get a good form. The shoe does run a little wide from the toes part but I did have to go from 6.5 to size 7 becaus they run a little short. They are great shoes but did not work for me and I was kind of not happy at being sent the damaged item. I also had a feeling that the shoe didn’t quite have a good support for an arched foot( I have a well defined arch). Read for Nike Free Metcon size guide!
18 July 2024
This is my absolute favorite training shoe at the moment and I’ve been a fan of the Nike Free Metcons for years. They are comfortable for cardio exercises like burpees and jump squats, but stable enough for weight lifting. The key is to get the right size. For the Nike Free Metcom 5’s, they are your true Nike size. I am always a 6 in Nike shoes (exception is below!),so this is the size I take in the 5’s and they fit perfectly. I have 4 pairs of the 5’s.I also own 3 pairs of the Nike Free Metcon 4’s, the predecessor to these 5’s. In the 4’s, you absolutely need to go up half a size, so I am a 6.5 in the 4’s - note: I am never a 6.5 in any other shoe from any other brand.Additionally, the main complaint about the 4’s was that they ran pretty narrow. I have narrow feet, so I didn’t mind this. They fixed these in the 5’s - it’s a tad bit wider and more comfortable. They are also a lot easier to pull on than the 4’s. I love them both, but would continue to buy more 5’s over the 4’s because of these small changes. For other shoe references:-in Nike Free Metcon 5, I’m a 6.-in Nike Free Metcon 4, I’m a 6.5.-in Nike Metcon 6’s, I’m a 6.- in Adidas Nizza and Adidas Swift Runs, I am a 5.5. Actually probably in any adidas shoe, I’m a 5.5.-in ON cloud trainers, I am a size 6.-in No bull trainers, I am a size 6.-in Nike Zoom SuperRep, I am a size 6.-in Vans, I am a 5.5.-in Converse, I am a 5.5.I hope this helps someone!... These shoes are great! At first, I’ll be honest I was nervous about them because they are a bit heavier than what I’m used to, but after breaking them in at the gym, I’m realizing that is a very practical quality. They fit perfectly, definitely run true to size. The design is a bit more bold than I typically go for, but after receiving complements from my husband and others on how cute they were, I too have grown to really like them.As far as comfort level, with some slightly taller socks than I normally wear, these are absolutely an all-day wear kind of shoe. The back of the shoe comes up maybe slightly higher than some other shoes I have, which again is not a problem with a taller sock. Tall socks are tending now, so you’ll fit right in!!What I liked the most about these shoes is how well they fit and the traction. Holy cow, I’ve never had a tennis shoe with such great traction. I feel like I could run super fast in these, maybe even as fast as my husband. I’m extremely excited to have these; I just had a baby a few months ago so my fitness routine is right at the top of my priorities right now.The only thing I might change about the shoe is from a cosmetic standpoint, white shoes make me very nervous. I’m someone who likes to have very clean shoes and white can really highlight things like water drops from rain. I have considered keeping these in my gym bag and only taking them out at the gym to preserve their beauty though. Definitely a shoe I plan to wear for a long time and if they have them in men’s, one I would also get for my husband.... Show more

solid shoe
12 March 2024
This shoe is incredible. I had an older model Metcon 5 and upgraded to this one. It fits like a glove, and using thin ankle socks, FYI.The toe base is wide enough to wiggle the toes. Despite having bunions, these feel fantastic and there is enough room in the toe box. There isn’t anything cutting into my foot across the area.I have an issue with my heel sliding up in shoes because I have a narrow heel, but not with these! The heel area hugs the heel and feels secure which I anticipate will be great for quick movements and for performing weight movements like squats or lunges. The shoe has flex so that will feel great with doing a lunge.Last of all, this solid shoe looks pretty slick so I feel great in them too.... Show more

Super comfortable and stylish
24 January 2023
I have been wearing the Nike Free Metcon 5 sneakers daily to get a good grasp of their performance. The style is attractive and I like this style in the white color. The back bottom is a little chunkier than I’m accustomed to, but that appears to be the style lately, so it’s actually helping me be more in-tune with the latest trend. It also seems to assist with durability of the sneaker and the beige shade doesn’t show dirt as easily as some colors/materials. This particularly helped on a rainy day that I wore them. I like the pink swoosh and the vertical twist on it, instead of the usual horizontal one. They are really comfortable right off the bat, whereas some sneakers take some breaking into. I love how it felt cushiony and it gave me a little spring in my step. The colors allowed me to match them with so many outfits. If I could change anything, I would make the bottom back area grey because I think it would look even cuter with the white sneaker and the pink swoosh detail. One day when I wore low socks, my ankle was slightly uncomfortable. When I wore thicker and higher socks, it didn’t bother me. Overall, a wonderful pair of sneakers!... Show more
