Best lightweight basketball shoe on the market!
My favorite basketball shoe. I've played in many shoes from different brands, Zion, Tatum, new balance two wxy, Adidas harden 7, dame, and nothing matches these shoes for me. People complain about these shoes because they had unrealistic expectations. The cushion isn't great because it's meant to give exceptional courtesy. And stability isn't necessarily a 10/10 but for a low top it's great. And traction is absolutely phenomenal. The design of the outsole is what sells it for me, a minimized outsole near the heel and oversized front gives you amazing ability to push off and really put everything in your step. If you're looking for a a shoe for comfort this isn't for you, but if you want a shoe that allows you to give it your all on the court this is absolutely for ... MoreMy favorite basketball shoe. Comfy Lowtops on and off Court
Maybe it's cause I'm a 90s kid, but lowtop basketball shoes still seem strange to me, as all my basketball heroes growing up wore hightops. I know Kobe changed the game way back when, due to his experience playing soccer in Italy, but I still associated hightops with basketball.I mainly got these shoes for fashion because I thought they looked cool with the subtle pop of florescent colors, but I decided to lace them up on the court when I received them just to see how they would preform.Turns out overall they were great. They were comfortable and had plenty of grip and support. I did find the area around the collar of the shoe a little thicker than it would have been on a hightop, presumably to give it more rigidity, but I got used to it pretty quickly.I ... Fantastic Shoe
My expectations for this shoe were fairly muted but I was admittedly very pleasantly surprised across the board with respect to their fit and performance. The shoe itself is incredibly light and well-designed. I like the tag at the back of the heel which is unique compared to other shoes I have seen and the overall design is crisp and not overdone, including the color scheme which is my favorite of all the Ja 1s that I have seen thus far. In terms of fit, the shoe is incredibly comfortable. Over the last few years, I have become a low-cut only basketball shoe guy and have had mixed results across various options. I would rank these in that top tier along with the Kobes for overall performance. Initially, I was skeptical about the fit around the ankle as there is ... I would rank these in that top tier along with the Kobes for overall performance. Initially, I was skeptical about the fit around the ankle as there is fair amount of padding that made it feel slightly bulky. However, unlike most other shoes, particularly basketball shoes, there were no blisters or issues associated with breaking in the shoes as a result of this extra cushioning which also provides some extra stability around the ankle. The sole has great grip and gets extra points for the cool design underneath. Despite having no visible air bubbles, the sole is incredibly comfortable and lightweight and I experienced zero issues with my arch when breaking the shoes in which is also a novelty for me. I really enjoy the shoe and it has held up very well over my initial use across HIIT classes and basketball. I look forward to continue enjoying these great basketball shoes in the future.... Great fit and feel! Great Quality.
The Ja1 is not only stylish, but also incredibly durable. I love the multicolored design on the Trivia colorway. The quotes and questions are really motivating when in the gym and provide inspiration to go harder and perform faster. The different fabrics on the shoes add a layered effect and I can tell that these shoes will last me a long time due to the quality of the leather and mesh material. Almost every element of this shoes design is intentional and made with amazing detail. The different colors mix perfectly and allow you to match different outfits. They look great on my feet and I have received numerous compliments on them. The fit of these sneakers is true to size, which was a relief. Light and comfortable, but not right away
The JA 1 is a great budget-friendly option for basketball athletes looking for a low-top sneaker. The material on the upper part of the shoe feels great and super comfortable. The support around the ankle is perfect for making quick direction changes. The material around the rest of the shoe feels lightweight and breathable. The outsole provides plenty of grip for the court. One negative of the shoe is they do require some initial break-in. For basketball, going true to size will be fine if you allow for the shoe to break in. If basketball is not the main use for you, I would recommend going a half size up.Overall, the JA 1 is the perfect combo of performance, style, and comfort; A great shoe at a great price point.... Premium in quality and function
First things first, sizing. Definitely a snug shoe but over time as you wear and break in the shoe, it immediately becomes more and more comfy. So I’d recommend keeping things true to size (TTS). I’ve worn these with thick and thin socks but I think I preferred the thin socks wearing these as there is lots of cushion and support around the shoe. When it comes to support, the shoe is rigid in all the right places while remaining flexible where it counts. The materials definitely felt premium. I enjoy the way the leather on the upper feels. It’s soft but well made. There is mesh at the toe area which never let me feet feel hot and allowed proper circulation. (It’s always nice to feel a good breeze on the toes). It’s soft but well made. There is mesh at the toe area which never let me feet feel hot and allowed proper circulation. (It’s always nice to feel a good breeze on the toes). For the midsole, the zoom air sole feels fantastic. It runs the length of the shoe and you definitely feel it working. I never felt any fatigue wearing these for a long period of time. Traction was also amazing. These are super grippy. Making sudden movements is a breeze. Weight wise, these are lightweight and don’t feel like bricks on feet. The color kinda grew on me. The cream color upper feels more lifestyle instead of sporty because of the neutral color but the yellow sole and colors on the heel bring everything together. Only really downside of this shoe was the check that creates a heel tab in the back. It seems cool in thought but execution leaves you with a flimsy more decorative heel tab. After the first time I tried to use it I never tried to use it as a heel tab again.Pros:* Quality materials; premium leather* Once the shoe is broken in, the comfort really sets in.* Traction is amazing. Movements can be quick without ever thinking you’ll roll your ankle.* Flexible yet plush tongue keeps comfort high.* Heel counter is rigid but doesn’t dig into the back of your heel because of plush cushioning.* Lightweight* Air unit can be felt all through the shoe which allows you to keep the shoe on for a prolonged period of time with no fatigue.* Attention to detail was high on these shoes, the aglets on the laces were a definite nice touch.Cons:* Breaking in time may take some time but that’s also depending on foot width.* The swoosh that also doubles as a heel tab. This is nice in thought but feels a little flimsy. It really could’ve been engineered to feel more substantial. Definitely a more decorative feature on the shoe versus functional.Neutral:* Colorway is primarily neutral. The pops of color at first seemed alright but I grew to like them more as I wore the shoe. The colorway feels more lifestyle than for sport but with the right outfit and attention to colors, the shoes can be a hit.Overall, I really enjoyed the attention to detail, high grade materials, rigidity and comfort of this shoe.... Solid Start but Needs Some Work
The first Ja Morant shoe has some good things to build from but needs some improvements going forward. First off, it’s nice to have another low basketball shoe available. The look is great with attention given to small details like the questions typed on the back, his signature in multiple spots, his daughters name hidden in the side of the sole, and the continuous Nike logo that wraps around the back of the shoe. They are very grippy and have a lot of padding for support around the ankle. On the downside, they are very stiff, and feel like a lot of shoe for it being a low. Even with the mesh, they still seem heavy and hard to bend. That may be preferred for some people. For me, more color ways are needed, but the look of this shoe is it’s best part. The actual ... Start From Scratch: The JA1

The leather feels durable, and the mesh is strong. The insoles are cushioning feel like there may be an air unit in the sole. I can’t tell, but they are very comfortable and have a lot of give when running. The laces and tongue do squeak a bit when laced tight, which some people may find annoying. One thing about the shoe I would change is the material of the swoosh. It is made of a rubbery material that wraps around the shoe from the inner swoosh to the outer swoosh. The part of the swoosh is not stitched in on the shoe, so it almost functions as a heel loop. However, I am afraid to use it like a heel loop due to the rubbery material feeling like it could snap.Overall, I really like these shoes and have worn them for both casual wear and playing basketball. They are a great choice for their retail price.... Show more

Super comfortable and great colors
I purchased this particular pair of the Nike Ja Morant kicks because of the Nike brand supporting Ja through his troubles off the court. The fact that Nike never lost faith in Ja and kept his shoes up for purchasing. They are super comfortable and I absolutely love the colorways.I only wish that I would have checked with checked them out on my Footlocker app. I purchased my pair from Stock-X for a few dollar's more. But I could have saved my cash and earned my flex rewards. Live and learn. I won't be making that mistake again. As for the shoes..they are great. I will be purchasing another pair. But from Footlocker this time. 10 out of 10 for the shoes... Show more
