Best for me but could be better
49yo male 5’6” 180lb 28” vertical weekly recreational volleyball player here. Shoes don’t fit as well as the gt jump 2 and feel a bit on the heavy side. However not being as overly cushioned as the jump2 I feel I have better mobility/stability on the court as most cushioning in the toe is where I need it most. I definitely feel the propulsion on my jumps. I consistently suffer from patellar tendinitis and this shoe has been the best so far to meet the criteria I need, cushioning, traction, stability, and added height. A few things could be better. Comfortable
I got my normal men's size 8 in the KD17's. While they are comfortable and feel like a sock hugging your foot, the fit is small to me. I usually don't have to size up at all. But probably should have gotten a half size bigger as they fit pretty snug. FYI, I have skinny feet. The material is pretty durable and the soles have an extra layer of comfort. With that said, I really don't care for the style or color. Though the small Kevin Durant signature on the back is cute. I Still don't love the overall style. But the positive is, they seem like high quality shoes and will stand the tedt of time as a great running or basketball shoe.... Show more

Comfort and Style Unite
Having recently tested out the Kd 17, I can confidently say that these shoes offer unparalleled traction, especially for indoor basketball play. From the moment I laced them up and hit the court, I experienced a level of grip that kept me confidently planted with every move. Whether I was executing swift cuts or defending against my opponent's agile maneuvers, not once did I feel the slightest slip, ensuring I maintained full control of my game. But the Kd 17 isn't just about traction; it's a complete package designed for the true baller. Durable Low Basketball Shoe
Overall, this is one of the better Nike basketball shoes I have tried in recent history. The fit of the shoe is true to size but a little narrow in my opinion. The material will stretch to your foot a bit if your foot is a little wider, but the cage over the knit material does limit that a bit. The shoes feel phenomenal as most KD shoes do. Very good support, good cushion, but also the right amount of support. They’re a perfect indoor or outdoor basketball shoe. While the shoe is more of a “low top” basketball shoe, it feels a bit higher than some previous low top models. Personally, this was nice because it provides extra stability in the ankle without sacrificing flexibility and agility. The fabric and cage construction does a good job of keeping your foot ... The fabric and cage construction does a good job of keeping your foot contained within the shoe and over the sole, especially when planting. For the most part the shoe has been used in an indoor gym setting, but when outside it has held up well. Over time, the knit material on the toe could wear if predominantly used outside. Compared to previous KD models, I really like the higher support in this shoe. It would have been a good addition for a more durable toe covering material in my opinion.... Show more

Fresh take on a classic
A lot times I feel like basketball shoes aren't a true to size fit for me, but this was not the case for these. They are snug enough to run around in without slipping but not too tight on my wider foot to cause discomfort. I really love the design of these. I'm a fan of the Air Penny's which these pay homage too with the cracked swoosh and the Orlando Magic color way. On top of this, I really enjoy the side profile of the shoe in general. I think that it's just really slick. In terms of the fabric it's nice and breathable/lightweight while also still managing to feel durable. The rubber on the bottom is also really nice for not slipping around. I think that overall this is a great shoe with it's amazing color/design being my favorite. If I could change anything ... KD 17 Review 1.0
For the period time that I have worn these on the court practicing and playing basketball, I found that these KD’s are really comfortable and ensures my feet feel secured. The responsiveness I’ve experienced while wearing these have been really nice in my heel. The sock line of these feel very comfortable with wearing longer socks. I do like the color blocking of these, I think it would be nicer if these came with either black or blue socks… just because I like more color on my shoes than others. They look very cool in my opinion and the design is nice! I’m not sure how others would feel about wearing these off the court, but I do like how they look with sweats.... Show more

KD Air Max?
Already having a pair of the KD15s (underrated), I was excited to get a pair of the 17s after seeing a mock design of it last year. It definitely gives off Air Max vibes from the design, specifically the plastic components on the sides of the sneaker. Material on the upper seems pretty similar to the 15s and appears to be durable enough. Not much of a fan of the Penny color-way though. The simple blue and white gives off the impression that it is a Team (budget) version of the shoe.As for fit and comfort my feet were definitely secure with ample space in the toe box. Heel slippage was almost nonexistent while moving and cutting which is a must for me. Traction from the design of the sole is good for the indoor courts I play on. One complaint though is the change in Zoom cushioning (which is still ok) in the heel between the 15 and 17, which I think started with the 16. If it was consistent the front, this would elevate this shoe to a 5.... Show more

Made for a baller in training
The KD17 did not disappoint my tween athlete. When they arrived, my son was immediately thrilled to try them on. After slipping them on, he said the fit was what he was hoping for, since some of his other basketball shoes have run smaller previously. The color way is perfect as it is his school colors and the use of multiple fabrics gives the shoe so much dimension. He states that they are extremely comfortable with a lot of ankle support since he has narrow feet. He felt fully supported when jumping and going for lay ups, which other brands have lacked in the past for him. After a week of daily wear, I asked if he had any complaints and his only criticism is that the laces are more flat which come untied more easily than the round thicker kind. These shoes have ... [Rewarded Review] A carbon Copy of the KD16s with a slight downgrade…
I bought the KD17 with high hopes because the KD16 was a step down from the KD15s cushioning set up, aesthetics, and quality and I was hoping that the Nike designers would have fixed these problems with the KD17, but as you can read in the title they did not. First off, the cushioning set up is the exact same half air strobel in the heel and a pretty chunky zoom unit in the forefoot which is not bad, but it’s definitely a step down form the KD15s full zoom strobel board. Cushioning is plush and has great impact protection and never felt like my knees were taking any wear while playing in games, but again, it’s not zoom strobel. The materials on the 17s are not great for one reason, and that reason is the lateral containment piece they used does not hold up your ... The materials on the 17s are not great for one reason, and that reason is the lateral containment piece they used does not hold up your weight when you are doing tight cuts and fast stops. Compared to the KD16s TPU it is not good and can cause your foot to go over the footbed and injure yourself in game. Traction was amazing just like all KD models and never had to worry about slipping and sliding during warmups to going at it in game. Aesthetics are amazing, but there can only get you so far with a 150 dollar shoe, and this is why you should just buy the KD16 which is on sale right now. What I was hoping to be a step up from the KD16 was actually a slight step down unfortunately and this is why you should just buy last years model instead while Nike is clearing up their inventory and save yourself money in the process.... Solid Indoor Ball Shoe
The KD17 takes inspiration from the Air Max Plus, which is what makes this basketball shoe one of the most attractive pairs in my current collection. It did not take much court time before the TPU overlays started to break in, while the mesh upper was very breathable and forgiving during gameplay. The translucent outsole pattern provides excellent traction on both indoor and outdoor courts, though I'd highly suggest sticking to indoor courts for more durability over time. My explosive playing style requires a shoe that can provide enough cushion and support, and this shoe does just that. While I am more used to the traditional low top shoe for hooping, the ankle collar on this particular shoe does not feel restrictive to the point where it compromises my lateral ...
