I bought these around 3 months ago and have been playing in them about 2 times per week indoors. Today the air unit popped. I question the durability on the design of these shoes - as I would expect much better from Nike. The materials seem solid, I think design caused failure. Before the air unit popped. The shoe was narrow (wide-footers should try on). Cushion was excellent, traction pretty consistent, and there was really no break in time. The support exceeded expectations for how low profile the shoe is.

I customized a pair of these in size 14, which is the size I normally wair. They were tight and narrow, but I decided to keep them thinking they would get better over time. I bought 2 more pairs, one size 14 and a size 15 to see if there was any difference. Both 14s were the same, narrow, tight, and no room at the toe box. The 15 was not any better, The width was actually the same, even though I bought the 15 for more width. The toe box was fine on the 15, because the length was way too long. It felt like I was wairing shoes that were too big for me at the top, and shoes that were too small further down. Really disappointed and I wish I could return all 3 pairs, they hurt so bad to wear I havent worn them. I know I have wide feet, but this was ridiculous.

I bought a pair of KD 8s a little over two months now and they are falling apart ! The last pair of Nike shoes I had before these were a pair of nike ID basketball shoes and I had them for over 2 years. They are in better shape than these KD 8s. I have been a loyal customer of Nike for over 30 years and I love Nike products. That is why I am extremely disappointed in them. I tried to express my dissatisfaction to customer service REP but unfortunately they are programmed like robots to answer customers in a scripted way. This made me even more disappointed and frustrated. I am seriously thinking about changing athletic apparel to UA and / or Adidas. I hate to do this since Ive worn nike for over 30 years (since I was 4) and I never had any issues with any of their ... MoreI bought a pair of KD 8s a little over two months now and they are falling apart ! I love these sneakers! The colorway for the BHM looks amazing with pretty much anything. As far as cushioning, Zoom Air feels awesome in the forefoot, gets the job done in the heel and medial area. Beware though, this shoe runs quite narrow, so I would order a half size up if you have wider feet. It might still feel pretty tight, but the flyweave will break in after a few wears. The runner inspired silhouette looks good with pretty much anything from shorts to joggers. They look even better in person!
I bought these shoes on the launch date while visiting my mom in Washington D.C. I got compliments everywhere I went. Random people on the street would stop me and say "nice shoes" or "I like your KDs" The socks and t-shirt that came out with them really makes the sneaks POP! I had to loosen the laces a little for everyday walking but I like the snug fit they provide when I run 7 days a week and play basketball twice a week. I would recommend these shoes for the active athlete who likes to show some swag or a little style while being active. Regular everyday wear will probably be a little too snug unless you do not mind loosening the laces before you wear them. I also currently own the "fourth of July" releases and am very happy with both pairs.
The price was really good - so I guess I should have known that it was too good. I got the shoes and wore them outside 4x and all the sudden my right shoe air pocket "popped." I didn't hear it pop or anything, but its clearly flat. I contacted seller, after multiple emails, I asked for a refund and never got one (and my emails are no longer responded to). He couldn't take the shoes back bc I didn't have my box and coudln't get replacements bc he didn't have the shoe anymore. BUMMER... I loved the look and feel of these shoes. Really disappointed, for $100 I expected to get shoes that would last.
Had to go a half size up on the these because the stitching of where the tongue and shoe is is way too narrow a problem that I've had with every KD model. The rest of the shoe is perfect in length and the zoom unit is comfortable. The out-sole does need to break in as well as the fly-weave to form around the foot. Decent lock down when laced all the way and very stable with the wide base out sole at he forefoot and arch support. I say this shoe is perfect for people with very narrow feet. Wide footers beware and everyone else may need to go up a half to a full size for the right fit.
I have owned the KD 3s and KD 5s, which were well built sneakers. The KD 8s are not nearly as good as its predecessor. I am a fast/quick player so Im looking for that lock down grip. The KD 8s sole is pretty much disentegrating. I play in a college court so its a little bit dusty at times. When the sneakers get too slippery Ill just try wiping the bottom of the sneaker, but it only adds to the problem. These sneakers are comfortable and definitely good looking, but did not meet my expectations for a KD sneaker.
Two problems with this shoe, it is way too narrow and way too small. You literally have to buy an entire size up. This doesn't make sense. Why don't they just list them as a size down. For example, they should say the 14 is a 13 and the 13 is a twelve. That will solve a lot of the sizing issues. The other problem with this shoe is the arch support. Don't give basketball shoes arch support. It causes plantar fascitis and can seriously screw up people's feet. Fix these two issues and the next shoe might be one of the best shoes on the market.
This shoe worked great throughout my whole basketball season. I found them uncomfortable after a while of playing. I recommend wearing inserts while wearing these shoes. I didn't get these shoes off of Nike.com. I got them at a sporting goods store. When I asked for "red" I ended up getting an orange color. I hope that Nike will or has created some kind red color for these shoes. I enjoyed the shoe and style but the comfort could've been better.
