Nike KD15 NRG - 'What The' 12

(65 reviews)

The Nike KD 15 “What the” is a unique colorway of Kevin Durant’s fifteenth signature shoe that combines various elements of previous Nike KD styles. The popular and creative “What the” theme lands on the KD 15, giving the shoe a head-turning appearance. The shoe features components from different Nike KD models, with all-over patterning on the left tongue and a pink textile on the right tongue. The base and overlays of each shoe have a mismatched design. Glow-in-the-dark TPU “wings” assist in supporting the lacing system. Durant’s “Ea$Y” nickname appears on the pull tabs and his former “7” jersey number with the Brooklyn Nets is found on the lower heel.

A Great Basketball Shoe!

I did a lot of research before purchasing and it paid off! This is a great shoe for basketball. True fit, great cushioning set up (Full Zoom Air Strobel + Full bed of Cushlon w/ very
nice quality insole) that feels good on your feet and gives a nice balance of forgiveness and responsiveness. A stiff shank on the bottom between the midsole and rubber
outsole, that bridges the rear foot and forefoot and adds torsion stability. Nice TPU wings ("smartphone case" material) provide a great lockdown and lateral stability when
laced up (use a runner's knot if you experience any heel slippage). Upper mesh and padded tongue are breathable and the toe guard durability holds up very w... Show more

I've had that last few KD signature shoes going back to KD9s. Overall the shoe is great! I love that they came back to a low top and maintained the zoom strobel unit.
Hopefully they continue to use and improve on the technology. In terms of fit, the KD15s definitely have a tight fit in the toebox. If you have wider feet, I recommend sizing up
half a size. Ideally you can go in-store and try a pair for sizing before you buy.

Great hoop sneaker. Highly recommend this model. The colorway is absolutely stunning. It is inspired by Kevin Durant’s Aunt as who bravely battled cancer. Even if you don’t
play hoops in this shoe it’s a great lifestyle choice as well!

Exceptional traction on indoor courts. However, the durability might not hold up well on outdoor courts. Besides all that, the shoe looks like a work of art and comes in many nice color ways.... Good but not great

A very snug fit. I recommend going up half a size if you have a regular or wide feet. The materials are somewhat less than premium but get the job done. The traction is amazing and you can stop on a dime. The main selling point is the cushioning which is top notch. Overall, it is a nice shoe to play basketball in or perform outdoor chores in.... I ordered these shoes for my son for basketball. He wanted a different kind, but they were sold out everywhere. When they arrived he smiled from ear to ear. The picture didn’t do it justice. They look really good in person. They fit perfect. Loved the colors. Would definitely recommend.... Show more

Quality Shoe - Avoid if prone to ankle injuries
3 November 2022
I bought these shoes last night from the Eden Prairie store, played a game in them and on the first play rolled my ankle rough. These are narrow shoes that provide a lot of mobility with little support on the high ankles or knees. I’d recommend this to anyone who doesn’t normally have issues in these areas. Breaks in quick, light, explosive shoes. I’ll be switching to a more old school look for more stabilization.... Show more

I've ordered two pairs of KD15s so far. I love the colorways and chose to go with these specifically because they look like they'll be about the closest thing to a Kobe that you can get your hands on. I haven't played ball in them yet, but I will say, both pairs make a strange popping sound with each step. It sounds like the glue that's holding the insole in place is cracking or something. It may not impact performance at all, and nothing feels like it's loose or coming undone, but the sound alone is very annoying. The shoe is comfortable, though. It will definitely need some break in time as it's pretty stiff out of the box. Feels tough to get a good lockdown like I could with the PG5 or any of the Kobe low tops. Again, I'm guessing that will get better with ... MoreI've ordered two pairs of KD15s so far. I'm excited to see some of the additional colorways drop and hope that these will be a good, reliable hoop shoe.... Show more

Sticky insole
1 November 2023
Bought these for my teenage son and got a half size bigger due to other reviews and there’s definitely still room for him to grow. The only real complaint is that there is an annoying sticky type sound coming from the insole with every step, almost like the insole isn’t glued down properly on both shoes. In a quiet room it’s pretty noticeable, but in the noise of a basketball gym I’m sure it will not be as obvious.Otherwise, my son loves these.... Show more
