Nike collaborated with local Miami artist Alvaro Ilizarbe, a.k.a. Freegums, for this special LeBron 9 colorway created for LeBron James’ 27th birthday in December 2011. Inspired by the concept of wormholes, Freegums black and white abstract art accents the inner lining and white toe of the shoe, which also features a black Hyperfuse shell on the upper and red branding accents. Tying the design together, a white outsole contours a Nike Zoom unit in the forefoot, and a Max 180 Air unit in the heel. LeBron wore the shoe against the Boston Celtics on December 28, 2011.
